I went to go get my hair washed last year. The lady who owned the salon is the one who did my hair. I warned her I was having a vertigo episode. Not only was she extremely rude but when washing my hair she put the water hot which burned me. I asked her nicely to turn it down. She then put it on ICE COLD AND IT SPRAYED ALL OVER ME!!! After that. My vertigo was the worse it has ever been. I was in bed for bed for 5 weeks! I urge people not to put their money or their time I this place!

I am so pleased with my hair color done yesterday by Elia! I always bring a different request and she leaves me so happy!

Most hair salons receive a generous five star rating. However, Textures salon star rating compares with places like your local Great Cuts. Based on my experience, management lacks hospitality and character. Also, Alia seemed socially incompetent nor amicable. Instead she is eager to provide racially driven suggestions as she once referenced «aunt jemima.» The hair dressers try their best, but are not accurate when it comes to color. I had to come in three separate times to achieve the requested color. In addition, one service was complimentary due to red highlights. The salon is over priced as another Texture consumer notes. In conclusion prices are consistently raised by at least five dollars then your initial quote. The deal breaker, racial satire is not professional, if you believe in quality service, Texture doesn’t. Furthermore, a blow out is $ 50-​$ 70. Local parking is limited to one hour, only. This venue does not accept most credit card, options.

Haircuts are good, but do not get your nails done here unless you want your nails to look like they were done by a preschooler such a waste of money I could have done a better job.

I came to Textures for an appointment with Shirin, my fabulous stylist of choice who had more recently been at Jax Salon. As such, this review is mostly a comparison to Jax.
The waiting area isn’t as luxe or spacious as the one at Jax, but honestly I find it less intimidating and a bit warmer. If I had a long wait, I’d probably opt for the larger waiting area, but being that I tend to schedule my appointments, it’s rarely that long a wait. The greeter was quite nice, which was a plus – there isn’t always one at Jax. Besides being a little smaller and sporting a little more traditional rather than modern décor, it’s a decent little salon :)

I called and I asked for the prices, they said its about 50 $ for a hair cut. So they assigned Amy to cut my hair. She was not very good. She was very quite and everything I told her she did not do. She messed up my bangs. When I told her she did a terrible job on them she said «you told me to cut it like this» who tells a hair stylist to mess up their bangs on purpose?
I have a horrible bangs thanks to AMY. Stay away from her. I was charged $ 60 instead of $ 50.
Will I ever go back there? NOPE!

I came in to get my bangs fixed but ended having to do a full service. So I had my ends trimmed rather nicely but ended up leaving with my bangs crooked. I was rather bummed out. Since all I really wanted was my bangs evened out by a previous salon mishap. I wanted my bangs fairly short and straight across. I left the salon and went home to clean my face from all the excess hair and noticed that the right side of my bangs were significantly longer than the left. I ended up cutting them myself. Spent $ 60 on crooked bangs. But got healthier ends at least.

I came here hoping for help in fixing a bad haircut. Instead of offering me options or any kind of ideas on how to fix the problem, the person who was supposed to help me was rude and unhelpful. I was already traumatized by the state of my hair. I didn’t need this unpleasant person talking down to me like I’m an idiot. I regret not reading the filtered reviews beforehand. Seems like others have had similar experiences with rude staff.

I can not believe the rudeness and unprofessionalism of these ladies! First I went in and were not even welcoming ! I went to do my friend Bianca a favor to he her model for a hair cut but instead i had to excuse myself with her and leave ! Because SIGRID was rude to her and myself from the beginning of my arrival, I walked in and she was just treating her like she knew nothing and then my friend and then i walked to my chair and we went to the shampoo bowl and she goes over there oh no you can never do that to a client you have to give her a consultation and me and her had already talked about what i wanted ! But whatever i let that pass then Bianca started cutting my hair when i got numerous phone calls because of a family emergency and i was in the middle of a call when she goes up to yelling OH NO THIS IS NOT GOING TO WORK YOU NEED TO GET OFF YOUR PHONE… SEE YOUR LEANING ! First off its rude to interrupt a phone call second off she could have said it in a nicer way like excuse me we prefer your not on the phone because it makes it harder for is to give you a proper hair cut, not just go and tell that. Ive been to much more nicer places and way more upperclass that do not have that kind of attitude and are way more professional, and she was telling Bianca treat her like a client when she would never talk to a client that was paying like that. So basically shes unprofessional unwelcoming, a hypocrite I can go on but you got my point. I feel bad for all their employees there having to deal with being mistreated .
DONT GO TO SIGRID SHE JUST WANTS YOUR MONEY AND IF YOU WERE NOT PAYING YOUD BE MISTREATED EVEN THOUGH I WAS DOING THEM A FAVOR OF BEING A MODEL FOR THEM.
If i could i would give them zero stars.

I am soooo pissed off!!! $ 160 for a hair dye– I asked for copper, Elia ended up giving me cherry red at the roots, and a mixture of patches of very dark mahogany and mousy brown throughout the rest. It looks terrible! It is dark to change back to the copper/​ginger color I wanted, and now I need to pay for another dye job to take some of the bright cherry out of my roots and make the rest less ratty/​patchy looking… (from another salon, there is no way I am going back there!)
Every aspect of my time with them was bad, I am kicking myself for not walking out the door during the consultation (in which she actually cut chunks of my hair off the back to «test the color” — that made me very uncomfortable, but she made it seem like it would be a sure thing… Clearly she was wrong). At the beginning of the appointment, I asked her directly if it would be copper, instead of red (in other words, a more natural ginger color instead of a fake cool/​cherry red), she avoided the question initially, and then told me that it would indeed be copper and not in any way a cool red. Then, when the overall appointment ended up being about 3 hours (2 hours longer than my previous coloring appointments at my old salon), she blamed me for the length of time because I was asking questions at the beginning!

Great experience for a first timer. I was looking for a new stylist in the area and came upon this salon with great reviews for Elia, the owner. I booked my appointment with her and was pleased to find her available that afternoon.
One thing I discovered quickly is that Elia is extremely knowledgeable about hair and her experience shows. She has a confident vibe about her and is quick to point out what your hair needs and what it doesn’t. She had Elizabeth blow-​dry my hair (I think she was in training) and would still walk over and check her work to make sure my blow dry was going smoothly. I loved that she is so invested in each customer’s satisfaction and quality of haircut.
The price is steep, but totally worth it! I left with a bounce in my step and a gorgeous cut!

Got my nails done here. I like the way she files nails but quality of painted nails wasn’t that great. Although it was a bit rushed since I came in near closing time.

I had an uneven haircut and desperately needed to get it fixed before I went back to school. Being new to the area, I went on Unilocal.After reading the reviews, I called and got an appt. with Szeka. Unilocal has never let me down before but it sure did this time!
Szeka took a bad hairdo and made it worse, despite me showing her pictures of what i wanted. She angle cut the front of it so it all feathered in front of my face. The layers were chin to shoulder length in the front but then went down to the middle of my back in the back. I looked like I had 2 completely separate hairdos. When I was almost in tears, she told me to go home and style it myself, if I still didn’t like it to go back.
When I went back, I told her what I didn’t like and again showed her the picture of hat I had wanted. I also showed her a picture of what I got so she could clearly see the difference. She tried to fix it but she refused to cut the back shorter despite me telling her repeatedly that style was more important to me than length. I had already lost 3 inches off my hair the first time she cut it so another inch or two wasn’t going make a difference. Anyway, again, I still wasn’t happy. This time she told me to go home and sleep on it and if I wasn’t happy she’d fix it the next day.
The next morning, it took me 1.5 hours to style my hair to make it look somewhat presentable. My roommates, friend, and mom all commented on how bad it looked. After again being in tears, I called a different salon and got it fixed. It’s short but looks 1000 times better!
I’ve requested a refund (which I’ve never done before) because it was around $ 60 + tip for Szeka to ruin my hair and $ 80 + tip for someone to fix it. Hopefully I’ll at least get a refund…

Textures gets five stars for my favorite hair stylist, AMY! I just love the way she cuts my hair. Not only does Amy do a great job technically (making sure both sides are perfectly even), I love that she does not rush. Amy is super gentle, thoughtful, and thorough when she cuts my hair, and it shows. She gives me the that cut I want, not the cut that she wants to give. I really appreciate the time and consideration that Amy puts into doing her job.
Added bonus: She is extremely sweet, kind, and gives amazing head massages!

Absolutely loved it here! Szeke was perfect and cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. Top knotch salon– highly, highly recommend.

I broke a nail yesterday and couldn’t leave to Vegas today with one missing. The only issue was that I worked till 730pm and all the nail salons I know we’re already going give closed. I Unilocaled to find open locations and came across Texture hair Salon. I was kind of hesitant because their pictures and name itself implies that this business was for hair only but under categories it saids nail. Desperate to just get this nail fix I called and asked if they really did nail and if they’re really open till 9. Good news that they do have a nail technician and the receptionist went out of her way to go and ask the technician if she could stay longer for me, they made an acceptation for me! Bad news, they’re really open till 8, that’s why the receptionist had to ask the technician to stay.
The technician did my fill very quickly and was very nice and helpful in picking the closes polish to my original color. I was lucky enough to have had her stay to fix my nail issue.
I gave this ⁴⁄₅ stars only because there were no options in acrylic designs (she said that the people around here are more conservative so they don’t do designs), and the time was incorrectly (not sure if that’s Unilocal or their responsibility to edit).

I had such a great experience here! I called one day in advance to get my nails done, and I was lucky to get a reservation the next day. They even accepted 2 pedicure gift certificates from 2002 in exchange for one gel manicure. (so I cannot really comment on their prices) I thought that was very accommodating of them.
Angie is the nicest receptionist! When you walk in she is very friendly and offers you water or coffee or tea. I waited about 5 minutes after my reservation time, but my nails ended up coming out great. I am really happy with the result and I definitely recommend getting french gel sets here, as I know they are going to last a long time. The nail lady was really nice and we talked most of the time she did my nails, which I now find to be very rare.
Great staff, clean salon, and perfect location.

It’s not usual for me to get a haircut but I figure I’ll use this living social deal for a keratin treatment, wash, style and cut by Amy. Such a sweet and nice lady. But it wasn’t the best experienced I had, showed her a reference of the Bob cut I want and it was way shorter than I expected and during the keratin treatment I guess during my drying hair my cartridge earring fell off! There goes my platinum earring. Haven’t heard from them… guess its gone for good. Ugh!
Besides that Amy took a fair amount of time into the cut and detailing but I would prefer if she continue to asked me if my cut was ok throughout. Even though before we begin I specific told her I didn’t want my hair so short because it’s something new even though I my intention for the haircut visit was a new haircut to try but not asking a drastic change but would be great if she can slowly ease me into the cut. It’s a place to try maybe my next experience would be better if I decide to come back.

Elia has twice given me the best haircut I have ever gotten. I had hair down my back and she gave me a very short a-​line bob, which was terrifying, but it turned out exactly how I wanted it.
After I grew it back out she gave me long, sleek layers. She actually took an inch off when I asked for an inch, rather than taking liberties to cut off extra hair that might be damaged.
I have awkwardly thin but frizzy hair and it has always been styled well here– never weighed down or damaged by product or styling.
I actually live in NYC now and still try to get my hair cut here every time I’m back!

I just had my first Textures experience, and I loved it! After seeing all the great reviews here, I called and got a next-​day appointment with Elia. When I arrived, the receptionists were very friendly and offered me tea, coffee, or water. The salon was very clean and nicely decorated, with plenty of parking available. Elia herself was extremely friendly and did a GREAT job with my hair. She immediately picked up on many of the things other stylists tend to ignore (cowlicks, side part, fine hair, flyaways, etc.), which I appreciated. She gave me a great haircut and then spent a lot of time and care drying and styling my hair. I was thrilled with the results!
Elia gave me the 15% off «first timer» rate, so I paid $ 68 plus tip. Her usual is $ 80, which isn’t quite clear from the price list (which says $ 50 and up). Maybe some of the other stylists charge less. She also gave me an envelope with coupons for future visits. $ 10 off a service, 20% off a product, and 15% off color/​highlights. I thought that was a great way to build customer loyalty.
