Jorge L, Giovanni, and Slav moved our household goods, from a pod to a 2^nd-​floor apartment, with a second stop to put a few items in storage. They arrived just when they said they would and worked quickly. They were polite, considerate, and very careful of our things. Giovanni even took a few seconds, here and there, to help me reassemble things our packers had taken apart, which saved me extra time and hassle. The office staff are also professional and thorough. I would definitely reach out to Shamrock again for moving help.

I’ve used this moving company 3 times, and they did a great job every time. All items handled carefully; nothing broke or missing. Very fast workers. Amazingly strong. They also have a unique way of carrying heavy loads safely.
They were very good at finishing up packing pictures and electronics.
2 of my moves were local hourly rates. One long distance charged by weight. All three reasonable prices, especially for a dedicated truck on the long distance move.
Same happy crew members, even though my moves were a year apart.

Shamrock did an excellent job of moving our furniture, some 200 boxes & a grand piano from San Jose CA to Reno NV this past summer. Thank goodness for this company. They are the best. Jose Cervantes came to our home to do the estimate… a very courteous and nice gentleman… very good to work with in the weeks before our actual move date. On move day Gilberto and the move crew arrived on schedule. They took excellent care of our belongings, worked quickly & efficiently from our move out to our move in the next day in Reno.

WOW WOW WOW. WOW!!! These guys were so good. Ok, let me take a step back and tell you the story. I recently sold my home in San Francisco and was planning a move down to Menlo Park. My broker down there suggested Shamrock Moving and Storage and said, «they are the best.» Well, I had just used other movers in SF to remove some of my personal things in preparation for staging and I was not very impressed. They broke at least 1 table and they seemed hurried and slow at the same time.
My Shamrock experience COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER. The four guys who did the move (Geronimo, Alberto, Ramon, and Williams) were SUCH great, upstanding guys — very open and friendly and communicative and SUPER solicitous. They wanted to make sure everything was just how I wanted it.
They took EXCELLENT care of my things and yet they were so quick and light on their feet. They also took excellent care not to ding up the house I was moving out of or the one I was moving in to. I couldn’t believe how hard these guys worked, how professional they were and most of all HOW GREAT THEIR ATTITUDE was. That is the most important part, if you ask me, because with a good attitude, you can do anything.
I whole-​heartedly recommend Shamrock moving and storage. They have most definitely restored my faith in movers and shown me what it looks like to work with an excellent, top-​flight firm. Thank you, guys! I am forever in your debt.

Shamrock will restore your faith in capable and trustworthy movers. Up until now, I’d had nothing but bad experiences with movers, from showing up late with a van that was too small, to damaging irreplaceable items beyond repair. Shamrock was the first mover in my 7+ moves lifetime that started on time, finished early, and went smoothly and stress-​free.
The team of Manuel V, Manuel M and Hector were helpful and easy to work with. I moved a lot of stuff around in the new house, trying to cram 4 bedrooms/​2 car garage’s worth of stuff into a 3 bedroom/​1 car garage’s house, and they made no complaints about me moving the same piece of furniture three times, before I had to give up and move it out to the patio as just not going to fit.
The job was finished an hour early and the final cost was below the estimate. I see a lot of comments about Shamrock being pricey — I wouldn’t know, I didn’t shop around. For what it’s worth, the peace of mind and stress-​free move was worth every penny to me.

Used them for our moving and storage needs for 1.5 yrs.
Awesome staff, awesome service all around.
Would I use them again? Inclined to think so, but their prices are a tad high.

Excellent team of employees, from the front office to the movers. Yesterday was our 4^th move using Shamrock and, if I ever move again, they will be the company I call. Jose has been spot on with his estimates, Gilberto and his crew are professional, efficient, extremely careful with our belonging and very helpful. Every piece of furniture was put together and placed where we wanted it. In my opinion and experience, I would never use another moving company. Highly recommend!

We’ve used Shamrock twice. Both times they’ve been both fast and efficient.
The most recent time we used them, we went to three locations — pick up boxes and furniture from one house (San Carlos); pick up TONS of boxes and furniture from a storage unit (San Mateo); unload everything in a new house (San Bruno). The entire process took just over four hours — much faster than I expected!
And I’ll never forget the image of this smaller guy moving our clothes washer on his back!
Their price seems a little more than average but WELL worth it.

Not good Shamrock! Shamrock made an already very stressful event of moving double stressful with their lack of professionalism during and after our move.
The crew of six that showed up for our move, with the exception of one guy (I think his name was Roberto), were for the most part inexperienced, sort of slow and generally weren’t good. The move took much longer and cost 30% more than the original estimate even though we had gotten rid of or moved ourselves quite a bit of stuff after the estimate and before the move date.

Lots of little annoyances. Pieces of furniture shelves legs etc.. Separated and not put back together and now MIA. Basketball hoop base drained of the water and the cap now missing. Heavy boxes not delivered to correct rooms, dropped off at the most convenient/​easiest room for THEM. And the list goes on and on.
Not good Shamrock.
To make matters worse we found out the next morning that they had forgotten to move several boxes, shelves, a TV, 2 tables etc. which took me 3 loaded trips in my Ford F150 and 2 hours of my time and a sore back to complete.
When I called Jose the salesperson/​Manager to complain he simply blamed me and said I should have brought it to their attention then. I said to him that it was late at night and dark and I was very tired and didn’t re-​check their work and didn’t open every closet and walk through every room of a 5000 square foot house and it was all pointed out them in the morning when they arrived and THEY should have done THEIR jobs and not rely on me to double check their work. His response was pathetic!
I will NEVER use Shamrock and most definitely will not recommend them to anyone.

My 2^nd move with Shamrock and again I had a PERFECT experience! Geronimo, Carlos and Ramon were my movers — went from Los Altos to San Carlos and they were incredibly professional, FAST, careful and so friendly! There was not a glitch and a move that I thought would take 5 hours took 3.5. I will never use another moving company!

June 10^th update: our stuff was delivered safely to us on Monday. Shamrock did the delivery for free and will be reimbursing our hotel fees. I feel like they handled their error very professionally and we were reasonably compensated. I would recommend them to other people and would consider using their services again in the future. I debated between raising the review to a 4 or 5 star, but went with 4 in the end because a) that was a LOT of stress and b) it would have been really nice to have a way to contact them after hours.
June 7^th, 11pm update: they got in touch with us at last and were extremely apologetic. It appears the schedules got mixed up and our assigned movers never got told that they were supposed to move us. They offered to comp the moving cost and reimburse our hotel stay without our having to ask, which is pretty cool of them. Will update review and likely bump up the rating when we get our stuff, assuming everything from now goes off well.

I wish I could give these people –100 stars. We hired these guys for the arrival portion of our long distance move (Vancouver, Canada to San Jose). They stored our stuff for 1 week while we hunted for an apartment and agreed to deliver our stuff today — some time between 2−5pm, they said. Well, it is now 9pm and we are still sitting on the floor of our empty apartment. They have not even phoned, so for all we know they have smuggled our belongings to the moon. Apparently their offices are only open until noon on Saturday (closed on Sunday), so I guess our best hope is to wait until Monday morning to call and get our stuff then — assuming they are not scammers and have sold it all on Craigslist — along with hopefully an explanation and a re-​imbursement for the 2 nights I will have to spend in a hotel.
Can I just say, on top of all the other bull****, how absolutely ridiculous it is that their office CLOSES while moves are going on? If something goes horribly wrong like our move has, you have NO WAY of reaching them if it’s not before 5pm on a weekday, or before noon on Saturday.
This is like something out of my worst nightmare. I see that they have many 5 star reviews, which was why we picked them to help with our move in the first place. I can only assume that either the other reviews are shills, or this company really is great 95% of the time and we’re just unlucky. If you’re the gambling type, go ahead and hire these guys. Otherwise, stay far, far away.

Run as hard as you can the other direction. Although their on-​site people are good, the business end of the operation is a true rip off. They actually accused us of adding furniture to the house after they gave a quote and then held our furniture and good hostage. Stay away

Highly recommend! On time; careful; courteous; efficient; and friendly. (Our team was Jorge, Ray, and Giovanni.)
(My only (very minor) complaint — and I’m not taking stars for this, because it really is minor — is that their eyeball ‘guesstimate’ of how long it would take (and so how much it would cost) was low by about 20%, but it was just an eyeball guess and we had a very hard move, which they worked very hard at, so it’s not at all like they were slacking off to jack up or anything like that. In fact, I’m truly amazed at what these guys can carry up and down a flight of stairs! So, if you’re paying cash, I recommend taking out some extra, and definitely tip! :-)

Starting with a quick and punctual estimate, everything went VERY smoothly for me. I’ve moved more times than I like to admit and this was the smoothest. The truck showed within 5 – 7 minutes of 8am and they hit the ground running. Team lead Alfredo with his muscle (Juan and Jose) kicked a$$ and took names. I’d like to take some credit as being really packed well but that’s probably just a small piece of it. What was estimated as an 8 hour day took 5. Total cost was 20% BELOW the estimate. That just doesn’t happen. Use these guys!

These guys are very pro — efficient, careful and hardworking. That’s what you want from movers, right? Jose came over to estimate (other firms just gave a price over the phone) and was courteous and offered some good tips on moving some tricky items. The moving team (Geronimo, Gabriel and Juan) were great.
Only gripe — they started a little late and finished a little early but still charged the full quoted fee.

Let me start with some advice:
1. Have someone from Shamrock come out to your home before giving an estimate, rather than just giving one over the phone. They will then feel more obligated to stay within the range of the estimate.
2. Schedule your move for the morning. Ours began at noon, and the movers had already done a 3-​hour move in the morning. They were exhausted before our move even began.
3. Ask about the «double charge» for driving time. Like many of the reviewers, I’d heard nothing about being charged double for drive time until after the move.
The hourly charge for moving through this company seems to make good sense, but then you realize that it creates an incentive for the movers to take as long as possible. We moved from a 1-​bedroom apt. in Palo Alto to a condo in SF, and were given an estimate of $ 967-​$ 1237. The move dragged on for 7 ½ hours and the final charge was $ 1425. The movers couldn’t park in front of our new place until 4, and deliberately dragged out the loading of the truck. They moved quickly for the first and last hour, but in between would routinely go to the truck and come back 10 minutes later. They were so obviously tired that, on the SF end, my husband and I began to meet them at the front door and take boxes and furniture from them. We were charged for break time as well as 30 minutes spent working on their broken truck. They were nice guys, but I’m used to movers who move quickly, especially when they’re being paid by the hour.
They damaged two bookcases because they weren’t adequately wrapped (the top and bottom frames were only wrapped in plastic, not blankets, and they’re the most vulnerable spots for damage anyway). The company is reimbursing us for one hour of move time as well as $ 195 for the damage to the bookcases, so $ 375. I’d go with a different company in the future.

I think moving is one of the worst things in life we go through, especially after being on same house for 21 years. These guys made it seem effortless. I am so very impressed. The guys are true professionals. They are kind, considerate, and take great care with their work. Expedient and very customer focused.

They helped move 5 large vending machines for me and did a great job!

We’ve just completed a complicated three way move of a large household, with items being moved into a home in Menlo Park and others split between long and short term storage. Having used Cummings twice before we called them for an estimate despite not being thrilled with their work on our last move, and we decided to contact Shamrock as many of our friends have been happy with them.
The bid process was simple with Jose spending 30 minutes walking through the house and convincing me that Shamrock could protect four fragile and special antiques, as well as offering a couple of ideas that simply made the packing easier (think drawers stay in the dressers and using «speedpacks» to quickly pack a large garage). Their initial price was competitive to Cummings and they came in almost exactly on their estimate.
8am on a Saturday a group of five men and two very large trucks rolled into our driveway and the boys just took over. Wrapping and rewrapping the antiques, blanketing the art, carefully packing the lights and treating each piece of furniture carefully. They’d carry their load to the truck then run back into the house, for hours on end. Between unloading the old house and moving into the new house they never nicked a wall or scratched a door. Honestly, I expect a few nicks and scratches as moving is hard work, but they really were careful.
Around 5pm after a steady nine hours Jose came by with another person so that the team could finish by 6:30. Everything was placed in the location that I had marked on the boxes and re-​moving of furniture to get the right look was done with a smile. The new house has a large basement that I am storing a good third of our items, and is accessed through some tight staircases. Everytime I would ask for something to be moved into the basement it was no problem.
At the end of a long day we were moved in, the old house was left in great shape, the new house didn’t suffer any damage, our belongings arrived safely and the crew was a treat to deal with.
My advice is to get an estimate from Shamrock and trust them with your move as they clearly know what they are doing and treat the move with care and professionalism.
