I called ahead to make an appointment to do the smog test for my vehicle here, because it’s close to my home, and also checked with the owner about the price which is $ 39. I arrived at 4:10pm, the test only takes 20 minutes. I recommend this place to do the smog test.

My wife went to the station and asked how much the smog check was. The guy quoted her 126 dollars probably because she is a woman. We went elsewhere and paid less then 30 dollars. Don’t ever come here because that was very dishonest.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! The guy is a real CHEATER! He asked me to sign, and had not included the price there! After I signed, he included the price: $ 138 (for a smog check)!!! A REAL CHEATER!!!

I’ll echo the many reviews below that complain about this place’s outrageous over-​charging. For a four-​door Jeep I paid $ 118 after the $ 30 «coupon» advertised on their website. The supposed reason for the gross over-​charge was the fact that the Jeep was a «truck.»
The job took about seven minutes. The tech made a big deal about the $ 9 they have to pay the state to file the report, as if that explained the $ 118 total. And he speaks perhaps deliberately broken English so you don’t really know what’s going on till you look at the credit card receipt.
It’s a racket. Word to the wise: stay out of this spider’s web.

Had to get a smog ASAP before DMV closed, worst mistake of the year!!! Total rip off advertises lower prices online but when you arrive he has «updated» prices on the wall which he can change whenever since he writes them with markers. I was expecting to pay ~$ 30 — $ 40 based on the online prices, but I was charged $ 139 plus the $ 8 certificate fee. He does not speak the language very well but sure knows how to cheat you out of your money. DO NOT COME HERE.

I called ahead for the price for my vehicle (which we quickly negotiated to be equivalent to their online promotion), arranged a time frame, and I happened to arrive just as another smog check customer was leaving. They confirmed the price and I was in and out in about 5 minutes. Great service from a local business! I also paid with a debit card to save them on merchant fees.
Based on the other reviews, it seems important to make sure that everyone’s clear on the pricing ahead of time.

Avoid this place like the plague. I got my first smog check ever here today and paid $ 130 — didn’t realize how badly I got ripped off until I spoke to some coworkers and realized how much they really cost. Went here cause the location was convenient and attached to a gas station but would 100% avoid.
The guy was nice enough but complete rip off for how little he actually did.

The man who works here is a cheater. His website says $ 29.95 but he made up some bs about that being «passenger cars only» and slapped me with $ 59.95. He preys on the lazy/​time pressed.

Total scam. He tried to charge me $ 109 plus the cost of the certificate. I showed him his advertised price of $ 29 and he said that was for small cars. This makes no sense. I told him to unplug my car and I would go somewhere else. He took the price to $ 59… I still said no.
This guy will rip you off. I took my car to Redwood Car Care for $ 29 plus 8 for a certificate.

This man is a CHEATER! DO NOT GO Here! Please really reconsider your options. Not only does he make up his prices, he does not keep his word. I had my car smoged here and he told me to bring my car back after I check with my mechanic and at that time would send to the DMV the pass information, but when I came back he said he would re smog and charge me again. He is a cheater, cheater and can’t trust this man.
This man is not to be trusted, he is lurking to take your money while he just sits on his behind.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! A complete rip-​off!!! I arrived with my $ 29 Groupon. I gave it to him and he completed the smog check on my SUV. Only THEN did he tell me he couldn’t honor my Goupon as my SUV is not a «passenger vehicle». But the shocker came when he told me I owed $ 108!!! I argued with him for 15 min that I could have had it done for $ 49 at the place I usually go near my house. He gave me a bunch of lame excuses as to why he needs to charge double. When I left he said «See you in two years» I said «You will never see me again, that’s for sure. «
Repeat «DO NOT GO HERE!!!»

Stopped by yesterday to ask about pricing and appointments. Told the guy that I was intending to use their 29.95 Groupon. He seemed nice and asked me what kind of car it was (2004 VW Passat) and then told me it would be $ 20.00 on top of the cost of the Groupon because it had to be «STAR» smogged. Plus the certificate, but that part is normal.
Well, that’s a load of BS, since I know my car isn’t old enough to warrant any special testing. So, it doesn’t cost extra to get testing done. Also, «STAR» is just a California State certification program for smog stations… nothing more.
Can’t say what their service is like but, with business practices like that, I’m quite sure they’ll never touch any car I own.
Caveat emptor.
NB:
Went to Redwood Car Care over in RWC. They got it done for less than 29.95. Total. From what I can see, their everyday pricing is 29.95 plus the certificate.
