My wife and i have bought and sold eleven homes thus far in our lifetime. We have worked with really good Realtors and unfortunately a few bad ones. Then we were referred to Doug Gonzalez. My wife and I have worked with several real estate professionals over the years, but it wasn’t until we met Doug Gonzalez that we learned what a real partnership was. Within the first 10 minutes of meeting him out at the very first property we were interested in, we knew that working with Doug was going to be a very different experience. We learned more about what to look for in a home in one hour than we had in all our previous home searches. Over the 18 months we worked with him, he educated us about different markets, specific neighborhoods, school options, remodeling opportunities, contractor relationships, timelines, negotiations, and every other important consideration that you should know when buying or selling a home.
Doug is an incredibly hard worker and tirelessly shared with us specific listings that he thought we be a good fit, met us out at properties we liked at odd times or on a moments notice, challenged us to think about our long term housing goals, and wrote up several late night offers to ensure we put in a competitive bid before a deadline. His professionalism, knowledge, and tenacity got us our house against 21 (yes, 21, one all-​cash) offers in the height of summer 2013’s insane market. Price? Long version: House hunting from Chicago during a market frenzy was a nightmare. I met Doug at one of his open homes, and was impressed with how professionally and ethically he was representing his sellers.
Doug’s calm expertise steered us well. He was incredibly knowledgeable and specialized in both the territory and inventory, which made us confident in the offers we made. He has a great rapport with other realtors, which you will find to be an extremely important quality in this business in submitting winning offers.
We valued Doug’s views on the positives AND negatives of a house, and level of resale/​desirability. He actually cared for our money like it was his own, keeping a cool head in an insanely overheated market. He would discuss different possible price points on offers, tell us what crazy $$ was and when to walk away. Awesome.
When we finally got an offer accepted, I can’t emphasize how invaluable an advocate Doug was. He was organized and methodical. He was on top of all the paperwork, inspections, and made introductions to contractors. He made sure everyone got the right signatures and documents in a timely manner, drove the financing process, kept us in the loop at all times. Coordinating immediate in-​person signatures from California while my husband and I were in two other states was a challenge that many realtors don’t encounter. During other offers, hubby had to negotiate while in-​flight and in another country. Not a single ball dropped. I defy you to present a bigger challenge. …On second thought, let’s not do that to Doug.

Doug was our real-​estate agent for the sale of our house in San Carlos in April 2013. Doug was a pleasure to work with. He has deep knowledge of the market, and was able to sell our house in perfect time for close of escrow on our new place of primary residence.
Due to the deadline for the close of escrow for the new house we had purchased, things needed to be turned around quickly with the sale of our San Carlos home. Doug quickly gained our confidence through the demonstrated deep knowledge of the real estate market and real-​estate transactions. He lost no time in creating a detailed list of what needed to be done for the sale, and lined up and scheduled all the contractors.
