Easy parking, plus I loved the ready selection of ice cream cakes already decorated with HAPPY BIRTHDAY candles and balloons.
For an extra charge, they personalized it.
It came in an easy to carry box. I popped it straight into the freezer and presenting it to the celebrant was quick because of the easy to open box.
Storing it is super easy too because the box is very well thought out for the product.
Wondering about the taste? It was 5 stars too, I was happily surprised actually… important to note that I got the ice cream & cake hybrid vs. the all ice cream cake.

pretty typical baskins 31, located in downtown menlo park. it was sweltering hot outside, and it was the hottest part of the day, and i couldn’t finish my errands without stopping in for a little something cold and sweet. after sampling a couple of flavours, i chose the raspberry orange greek frozen yogurt in a kid’s size cup. for just under $ 3, this wasn’t too bad, but it was also quite a small scoop, about 3 ounces, i’d say. nevertheless, it did satisfy my need for something cold, frozen, and i was able to sit for a few minutes and enjoy this treat. i like that they now offer sherbet, frozen greek yogurt, and frozen regular yogurt in addition to their traditional ice cream.

I got the spiderman ice cream in a sugar cone. I didn’t even know spiderman made ice cream. His chocolate covered webs were hella good. HIs costume tasted really good too. The ice cream scooper guy gave me a huge scoop unfortunately so huge me and my lil buddy I came with both had our ice creams collapse and fall down.
The guy gave us a free scoop because of it.

Bought an ice cream cake for $ 15 and it’s dry, freezer burnt and stale! Would have taken it back but it wasn’t worth the trip! For being in such a fancy location (downtown Menlo park) where every car that passes by is a Ferrari, rover or tesla you’d think they could afford to keep their stock fresh. Save your money, skip this hole and go to cold stone instead!

I ordered a birthday cake from BR in Menlo Park. AFTER the fact I read the Unilocal reviews… I was horrified. I was kicking myself for being so stupid. I ordered the cake on Thursday for pick up at 11AM Saturday. Timing was essential, as it was a surprise party. After reading the reviews I thought they wouldn’t be there on time and the cake would taste terrible.
But the facts are that the cake was there waiting for me, looking beautiful and made to my exact requests and on top of all that, it was delicious!
I take my mother for an ice cream every once in a while and I have noticed the lackluster personality and service. But hey, people, I think these folks probably work really hard and making a go of it in an ice cream shop has got to be really tough these days

I have been to many Baskin-​Robbins in many cities, usually receiving clean, friendly, attentive service and tasty treats. EVERY TIME I have been in Menlo Park and stopped here, the older gentleman is s-​o – o-​o-​o-​o UNFRIENDLY. This last time I ordered a shake and junior scoop of ice cream. IT WAS THE SKIMPIEST JUNIOR SCOOP I HAVE EVER RECEIVED IN MY LIFE!!! A-​N-​D He had the audacity to charge 60 cents for the whip cream I asked for on my shake. W-​H-​A-​T??? The shake costs 5.49 + 60cents for whip cream??? C-​R-​A-​Z-​Y!!!
Now maybe all the ice cream parlors are following Starbucks bad example, but this is really nickel and dime-​ing customers to death!!!
If you’re in the mood for a Baskin-​Robbins, wait until you’re near a better parlor, skip the Menlo Park location ~ even if all of them are adding the whip cream charge.

It’s an ice cream place, they provide good ice cream, but nothing really special. It’s neither better nor worse than other places.

I don’t remember exactly why I loved BR so much as a kid… probably because it was the only thing that turned my poop blue. Whatever. My mom was lookin for an ice cream place because it was hot as balls and she needed some quick sugar so we stopped by. Now you would think that an ice cream place would be chill but this joint was hotter than it was outside! How is that possible?
The flavors were all whack… just a butt load of sugar in all of its forms. I ended up getting the vanilla with reese’s which was still way sweeter than it should have been. Maybe I can’t handle all the sweets because I’m not 5 anymore.
The two stars are for the nice guy who worked there and was helpful and didn’t give me or my mom no attitude even though I got like 15 samples. Good for you. You work them 31 flavors.

Since my 5 year old loves BR ice cream cakes I called on a Monday afternoon to order for Tuesday (since I was told by them on Friday to wait until Sun or Mon to order). The guy answering the phone gave me a hard time about ordering the flavor we wanted instead of whatever he had lying around in the freezer. Next I was told I could only have one color frosting. Fine. Yellow. Then he asked me for the pickup time. I suggested 3pm. He immediately told me I could not pick up with less than 24 hours notice. It was 3:47pm so I suggested 4pm.
Tuesday came and we picked up our $ 30 cake which is literally smaller than the span of my hand (and I have small hands).
We’ve had previous experiences with this same rude older man who apparently either runs the place or is eternally damned to sell ice cream to spoiled, screaming children — attitude is identical so it really doesn’t matter.
This will be the last time. I will commit to driving across town to the Middlefield location (where they are fantastic) or just go to Cold Stone (where they are also really nice and happy to throw in extra goodies).
Someone should tell this guy he is not a dentist. He sells ice cream –right?

Love the ice cream here although it’s no Seneca Farms in upstate NY. Anyway, enough flavors to choose from and the staff is always helpful although sometimes you have to wait a minute or two for them to come out of the back room.

These guys are funny. I called to order an ice cream cake and asked when I could come by to pick up. They said that closing depended on how busy they were. So I asked them if they’d be open at 8PM and again, he said it depended on traffic into the store (their posted hours says that they are open till 10PM).
So I rushed to get there before 8 (because who knew when they would close) and sure enough, they were closing up (right around 8).
I thought there were corporate rules on open hours but I guess not. Having to call an ice cream shop in the post-​dinner hours seems a bit too much work esp. since Palo Alto has all the ice cream and fro-​yo anyone could eat.

I am giving this place one star after getting a FREE PINT there, so if that doesn’t tell you something…
First off, the ice cream had NO flavor. It was peanut butter cup gone awry… like, it let the flavor go on vacation or something. Blech. The ice cream I had the prior time was not good at all, either.
But on top of that, the guy who always works at this place is so completely uninterested in helping people, or being anything other than rude. This guy really hates his job and makes it apparent. He sucks the joy out of ice cream.
As much as I dislike Cold Stone, I’d go there before hitting up this BR.

I’ve only come here for the $ 0.31 scoop nights and for my free birthday scoop so it’s not my most fave place to go for ice cream (actually, I rather just buy some ice cream at the market and eat a bowl at home), but they seem to have lots of flavors and the two I got tonight were very accurate to the actual food item flavor. I got banana nut and jamoca (coffee flavored) chocolate.
The place was filled with families and adequately staffed for tonight’s great ice cream deal.

It’s got 99 flavors but great ain’t one…
San Francisco turned me into a harsh ice cream judge/​dessert foodie… As a child, I loved coming to Baskin Robbins but there were not a whole lot of other choices. This location was clean enough but nothing special in terms of décor or taste…
I’d much rather get ice cream from Bi-​Rite Creamery, Cold Stone, etc or, even better, get some delicious fro-​yo with toppings!

I have been going to this place for years. The ice-​cream is good but the service is not so good many times they take a long time.

Is 2 stars really fair when Baskin Robbins is consistently consistent at all its gazillion locations? No, not for the quality of the ice cream. No, not for the convenient downtown Menlo Park location. But yes for the guy who ignores you and then scowls at you when you order, which is scary considering we’re at family-​friendly 31 Flavors here!
His counterpart is much more affable, though, and even allows you to «exchange» your cone for another one if you don’t like the flavor you picked. Now that’s the 31 Flavors I’m talkin’ about.
