Fairfield Inn & Suites Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport

Clean convenient location near airport. Service was unusually pleasant so extra credit there.
The rooms are nice enough but there was some weird machinery sounds around 10 PM in my room near the end of the hall… must have been some sort of pump that was running for a good 3 – 4 minutes. Not terrible but a bit off-​putting.
They have a small pool and a hot tub, very small exercise space but all of this is adequate and what you’d expect for a business hotel near an airport. Breakfast is standard continental fare, nothing remarkable but solid and complimentary so can’t fault that.
I got what I expected at a reasonable price. Would certainly stay here again if traveling to MN for business.

This is my go-​to airport hotel because of the proximity, shuttle service, lovely lobby, spacious hot tub and amazing hot breakfast (provided!) I can’t imagine why I should go anywhere else when coming in & out of MSP.

Unbelievably helpful staff. Monday snowed a lot. Tuesday morning I was scraping snow off the windshield when a guy used a gigantic squeegee contraption and removed the snow in 2 – 3 swipe
Water pressure is amazing. My room was on the second floor.
Rooms are quiet too. I didn’t hear anyone in the hallway
My only neg is their pillows. I opted for no down. The pillows were thick and firm. I am a side sleeper so I only need a thin half inch pillow. Good thing it was just a short stay
Courtyard is just next door that has a renovation bar/​dining area. Just small simple menu but tasty

First the good, this is a nice hotel property for the price. It’s what I would expect from Marriott. The lobby and public spaces are well maintained and clean. The pool area was really nice also. For the most part our room was clean and everything was in working order. The free breakfast was pretty good too. Muffins, bagels, etc with two waffle makers and assorted fruit.
Now for the not so good: the ceiling in our room had a lot of cobwebs hanging around. Our room was also right across the hall from the ice machine and vending machine, both of which were incredibly loud. During our stay there was also some sort of incident in the hallway right outside our door between 2:00 and 3:00 am. We don’t really know what happened, but at breakfast another guest was saying someone in the hotel got removed after getting intoxicated on drugs, and it kept that lady up until 5 am. Whatever it was, it was loud and made it incredibly difficult to sleep in our room.
It’s not a bad place, but if I stay here again I will not accept a room so near the lobby and elevators.

We had a great stay at this hotel recently. Free breakfast was nice, hotel was clean, and the free shuttle was awesome and very handy. Everyone was super friendly! Our shuttle drivers that we had were John, Bert, Scott, and Azad and they were all great! Especially John who was very personable and always had a smile on his face. The front desk workers Brianna, Jennifer, and Jason were great as well and very friendly and helpful. The hotel price was good as well.

Let’s start with the basics. They have an excellent shuttle service to and from the hotel. The vehicles clean and the driver helped with my bags.
The hotel, the rooms and the grounds were all very clean. My room was comfortable and well stocked. I travel an average of three evenings a week. The staff at the front desk was personable and friendly.
Personal note: when I arrived in Minneapolis for business this last week, I received a phone call while I was in the shuttle. One of my best friends had suddenly passed away. The staff went way above my expectations. They checked on me a couple of times, brought me some extra bottled water and a sympathy card. I felt like I was a part of their family.
This is the place I will use over and over.

I have stayed here twice now on business this summer. As far as mid range hotels go it is pretty good, like other reviewers I was surprised that there was really no noise from the airport nearby and I was on the top floor. I was even right next to the elevator and didn’t hear any noise from that either. The staff is all friendly and helpful. They are always asking and making sure that everything is okay and that my stay is good, so that’s nice. The only complaint I really have is more of an institutional thing because I have noticed this at all Fairfield inns, but the breakfast is really almost worthless. This scrambled eggs out of the bag are just plain terrible and the quasi bacon is not any better. The orange juice is pretty fake and the fresh fruit has a funny taste to it. Even the oatmeal was way too runny every day I was there. I pretty much had to settle for a banana, yogurt, and the biscuits and gravy since the gravy masked how dry the biscuits were. Basically it is all the same schlock you get at Hampton Inn. If Fairfield really wants to distinguish themselves from other hotels in the same market they could do it by offering a breakfast worth eating. I know it is possible to because I stayed in a residence Inn which is also by Marriott and their breakfast was pretty decent.

When you need a place to stay close to the airport, this place is great. Lovely service, & the shuttle will get you to & from the airport quickly.
They had a great snack bar in the lobby. I was in desperate need of food, but didn’t want to order a whole meal after getting in at 11pm. They have a little mini convenience store, with a good selection. Great idea for a commuter hotel like this one.

I was very happy here. I did some shopping around for a place I could get to by airport shuttle. (I got standed here by a missed flight.) I tend to be very budget conscious, so I looked around a bit on line. For hotels that have shuttles, one was cheaper than this one but had horrible Unilocal reviews. The others were much more expensive than what I paid for my room here. I got the cheapest room. (For me, it was $ 74 with tax, but it looks like it’s up to $ 84 before tax for the cheapest room. t looks like it’s only this cheap on the weekends. Weekdays cost significantly more.) It had one queen bed. The room was great! Really well done and new. Staff was friendly. Airport shuttle worked no problems. The breakfast had many options. I would totally stay here again if I was getting the weekend price.

Wonderful employees! Friendly, helpful, especially Jason, front desk, Carolynn, I think that was her name, night manager, plus the lady incharge of breakfast, which was SUPER and everyone else. I would go back again without any hesitation.

Stayed here March 15 — 16^th. We were in town to see the Bob Seger and Kid Rock show. The hotel was suprisingly clean, comfortable, complimentary breakfast and shuttle service within a 5 miles radius … It’s close to the twin cities and within minutes to Mall of America. Great price too!!! Just remember this place is not a 5 star hotel. It has above average amenities for a hotel at this price point ($ 80-​$ 130).

The Fairfield Inn is your typical ‘Suites’ style hotel. It has a ¾ size fridge, a ½ stove/​oven, sink, and a dishwasher if I am not mistaken. Dishes and cookware are also provided.
The bed was comfy and the linens were clean and new.
The room is slightly small if you are going to be spending a long time in it… or if your stay is longer than a week.
The main compliant I have with this location is the bath towls. They were paper thin and rough. I don’t ask for much when I travel but I don’t need to be exfoliated while I am drying off in the morning.

The staff was excellent. They gave me points for being a Platinum member and then I got a chocolate bar. If that wasn’t nice enough, I also got a free drink from the market area. I love the people here! The room is nice and the location is close to the Mall of America and the airport.

Overall the stay here was a pleasant experience and I would come back again. This is a long review but I broke it into different sections in case one area is more important to you than the others.
Room: The room I stayed in had a desk, a lounge chair, a flat screen TV, bathroom and bed (no fridge). The bed was comfortable and just the right size. I had so many pillows I didn’t know what to do with them. The bathroom was big. I wonder if I got a handicap accessible bathroom because it was half the size of my dorm room in college. The toilet paper was the kind you had in high school. Cheap feeling and rough so don’t blow your nose on it. The cable seemed to be comprised of the basic channels, plus HBO and a lot of infomercials channels. I have more channels at my apartment so I was a little disappointed. The TV was about 30 inches. No DVD player. They have free Internet. I was a little confused by the log in instructions because you pick the amount of time you want free Internet whether it be 3 days, a week or so on (there isn’t an option for less than 3 days). The style concept of a one orange wall with apple green shades isn’t really my thing but I can put up with it for a couple of days. The other thing is I couldn’t get the curtains to completely shut so there was a little gap that the light shined though. 4 out of 5 stars
Service: The people who work here are very friendly and pleasant. The front desk was more than helpful. They did a great job explaining all the stuff the hotel had to offer. Their cleaning staff was also great. They have a shuttle service to the airport and the MOA (Mall of America). In addition, they put the Pioneer Press (the local paper) in front of your door every morning. 5 out of 5 stars
Breakfast: The complimentary breakfast has many options to choose from: waffles, oatmeal, cereal, breakfast sandwiches (the kind you warm up in the microwave), yogurt, apples, oranges, bananas, toast, muffins, bagels, milk, orange juice, apple juice, and cranberry juice. Thought the food was average when it came to quality, but they did keep everything well stocked throughout the entire breakfast period. I just wish they had biscuits and gravy. There was plenty of room to sit down, more than the average hotel. Plus they had a TV in breakfast area which was an extra plus. The lady who refilled the food was very helpful and friendly. I saw her help a person with the microwave when they were having trouble and she voluntary helped without the person having to ask. That is good service. 4 out of 5 stars
Amenities: They have a pool, spa, small gym, laundry room, and business room (to use the Internet if you didn’t bring a computer with you). The front desk area has a small lounge area with a TV and a fireplace. I didn’t get a chance to use the amenities but all seemed really nice. 5 out of 5 stars
Location: I think the hotel is located in an odd location. It is surrounded by business offices. There isn’t any food places within walking distance. McDonald’s and Subway were the closest eating places and they were still a 7-​minute drive away. It is about a 15-​minute drive to the Mall of America, but you almost wonder why drive when you can take the shuttle. If you want to be away from the city but still within close reach then this is probably the place for you. 2 our of 5 stars
Check out time is at Noon. Most places I have been to in the area are 11 AM or 11:30 AM. The later the check out time is the better in my book.

On the day we checked in the hotel was finishing up a deep clean of the carpet. Nice! This hotel is in a nice quiet business park, right off 494 and just 5 minutes from the airport and Mall of America. The king suites are comfortable and include two large flat screen TVs, along with a mini-​fridge and microwave. This place is family-​friendly and the indoor pool is a great place for the kids. Front desk service was excellent. Recommended.

I picked this hotel for a 4-​day stay based on the amenities (fridge) and the renovation. Checked in using points, got a standard room, and it didn’t have a fridge! Apparently, if you’re using points, you get the standard room, which is nicely furnished but functional — i.e., basic. Went back to the desk and asked for a fridge. The manager overrode the system to give me a suite and was very helpful and professional, saying that she wanted me to be comfortable for the 4-​day stay. New room had a fridge, microwave, 2 TV’s, little stereo with iPod dock, couch… much nicer and just what I needed! All of the staff is very friendly and welcoming; the general manager clearly has excellent leadership skills, setting the example in hospitality and inspiring her staff to do the same.
The breakfast is the best I’ve seen in a Fairfield Inn, and they often offer coffee, cookies, or fruit-​infused water at other times. Rooms are spotless and nicely furnished. Location is convenient to the airport and highways. Overall, a great find — it’s not the JW Marriott, but it’s the best Fairfield Inn I have ever seen (and I travel a lot). Highly recommended!

One of the best hotels that I’ve stayed at in a long time. Rooms are newly renovated… very nice! The hotel shuttle is amazing. Not only did they take me to the Mall of America, they took another guest to the liquor store. Now that is customer service. I’ve stayed at more expensive hotels but they could learn from this one on customer service.
