Zoo Boo was so much fun! I rode a camel, rode in a «haunted» hay ride, and went through a haunted place. It was a ton of fun with my friends. I don’t think we will go back next year as we will likely want to try something new together, but it was an enjoyable experience even though it was mostly meant for children.

Zoo Boo was a lot of fun. It was a great way to get into the spirit of Halloween. I’m not much on scary haunted houses and things like that so this was right up my alley. I will say though that this is definitely geared more towards small children and if I were to go back I’d have to bring my little cousins. One of the highlights for me was the magic show because you can enjoy that at any age. The Creepy Critters exhibit was awesome. There was a snake we were allowed to ‘pet’ and an awesome Chilean Rose Tarantula, which actually looked pink! One set back which makes me want to give it 3 stars was the hay ride. We were the last group allowed on the trailer and so we were seated on the side that didn’t get to see any of the decorations, just a plain fence! I struggled to turn my neck as things went by. I also wish more animals were out, but I already knew that they wouldn’t be since we had been to the Zoo Lights before. Overall it was a great event and a lot of fun seeing some creative costumes(one little girl was a box of doughnuts and her brother was a cop!) I’d recommend it for families with children!

This was our first visit to the Memphis Zoo… So sad we waiting this long. It’s amazing, loved the design and the flow and we didn’t even get to see the animals yet… can’t wait! As far as the production of Zoo Boo — Slam Dunk — something for kids of all ages, great little stations set up, tons of free candy and very well organized. The traffic was crazy to get in but it was fast flowing and very smooth. Might visit again next weekend but tail gate then. show up say 530 and picnic in the lot! lol :)

The Memphis Zoo is one of THEBEST in the world, and I just took my kids for a visit yesterday. We have a family membership, and we put it to good use. So why am I only giving Zoo Boo 3 stars? One reason and one reason only– too crowded. Uncomfortably crowded. The event is held over two weekends. The first weekend is scheduled for October 22 – 23 from 6:30 to 9:30pm. The second weekend is held October 29 – 31 from 5:30 — 9:30pm. Perhaps I picked the wrong night to go last year, but from what I’ve heard, all nights were pretty packed. There are tons of fun things to do while here. My daughter loved the ballet performance, and the ballerinas let her go onstage prior to the show(she was dressed like a ballerina for Halloween, after all). There was also a fortune teller, several trick or treat stations, and pumpkin displays. We even saw Glinda the Good Witch! It’s always a blast to see the litte children dressed up– my favorite last year was a pair of twins dressed as Thing 1 and Thing 2. If you don’t mind crowds, head on out this Halloween. Just double up on the patience. I might give it another shot myself.

I have been taking my kids here for years and we always have a great time. It’s a special event held each year at the Memphis Zoo. It’s held in the evenings and this year the dates are October 22, 23, 29, 30, 31. Be sure to purchase your tickets early as they do often sell out. Your little ones can wear their costumes and the Zoo is decorated for Halloween. There are special events in different areas, trick or treat stations and the rides are open. Be sure to take a flashlight and a trick or treat bag. It’s a fun event for kids under 8, when they get older than 8 it’s not as much fun for them.
