There’s almost ALWAYS shady people sitting right by the entrance asking for money. Once you enter the store, almost every employee looks as if they are on the brink of suicide. NO customer service at all and if you ask for any assistance at all, they act like you are the biggest inconvenience that ever existed. I’ve actually witnessed two employees get into it right in front of me over a coupon. If you ask to speak to a manager, they make some excuse up that they are busy or not there and when you do get«a manager» they are just as rude as the rest of them. If you hate your job and people that much, do us all a favor and go somewhere else to work where you stay away from society altogether. The pharmacy here is just as bad if not worse than the rest of the store. How on earth do these people get jobs here?!

Asked the pharmacist working on the night of 1÷28÷16 near 11:30 pm for advice. Got a mean look and a two-word response regarding a sick kid. At least she said something, I guess. And mind you, I wasn’t sure if she and the staff were fully oriented. If you drop a script here you’d be doing good to get it filled within the next calendar year. These«pharmacists» work at Walgreens but perhaps had their license made in the hunting/sports section at Walmart. It’s pathetic here. I’d have my dog put down rather than make him suffer waiting for meds to be filled at this place. Worst pharmacists ever. Deadbeats — especially the female — can’t say«lady» pharmacist — working on the night of 1÷28÷16 around 11:30 pm. But hey, don’t feel alone«pharmacist,» every time I make it past the beggars at the front door of this dump, I regret coming here for meds after about five hours of waiting and insurance confusion, along with every other imaginable debacle. Have a great day…

I have been coming to this store for several months because it is conveniently located to my work but I refuse to go back. Every time I pick up a prescription, I have to wait at LEAST20 – 30 minutes — regardless of whether if I go inside or through the drive through. They always seem short staffed at the worst possible times and even then the staff are slower than molasses. Seriously, this pharmacy is absolutely horrendous so avoid at all cost!

This used to be the absolute best Walgreens pharmacy staff in the city — I was so proud to be a customer of this location. Not sure what has changed over the past year(I suspect it might be managers), but the mistakes are outrageous and one phone call to get their mistake straightened out takes a good hour because nobody ever answers the phone! I’m really hoping that this gets worked out soon because I’d hate to leave this location because they can’t get it together. The staff as a whole is still very pleasant, but something needs to be done.

Some of their pharmacy employees are AWFUL. I had an issue getting a prescription and dealt with rude, incompetent people for a couple hours before I finally gave up. I called a different walgreens down the street, and they handled it in no time with no problem, and were very kind. Never. again. Those kind of people make me want to leave Memphis.

Same problems with being harassed by panhandlers. I live in Midtown, am used to this, but most establishments DEAL with the problem with security guards. Next, customer service by the pharmacy is a joke, non-existent. I voted with my feet and pocketbook several years ago and use Madison Pharmacy @1750 Madison. Locally and independently owned by a Midtown resident. They will order any products you need which they may not carry. We get all RX;‘s, as well as OTC and Consumer products — including greeting cards, some cleaning supplies, some snacks, some drinks, etc. I personally know the staff, they are WONDERFUL, have even offered to deliver products on their way home if I couldn’t get there. You have to plan around getting refills, etc., as they are open Monday — Friday 9 Am — 5:30PM. If I HAVE to have something called in or filled at night or weekends, Rite-Aid does a much better job than Walgreens, and the panhandlers are not there.

The pharmacy customer service at this store is horrible. Every person I talked to gave excuses as to why they couldn’t help me, blaming everyone from their customers to the weather. I’m surprised they are still in business.

Easily the second worst Walgreens I have ever been to in my life. 24 minutes in the drive-through line only to back out and drive away has got to be a world record

This Walgreens is convenient for midtowners who need a few staples and don’t want to deal with Kroger’s atrocious excuse for a parking lot. It’s 24 hours, which is especially handy when you want candy at 3:00AM(who, me?) Anyway, the good side ends there. When you approach this store, you’re likely to be asked for money by someone upon entering and/or exiting. Panhandlers aplenty, this corner store has its share of annoyances and inconveniences. Seeing a manager chase off someone was enough for me to know they’re aware of the problem. Other shady characters lurk at the entrances as well, as if they were death eaters from the Harry Potter series(perhaps I shouldn’t insult death eaters like that). Oh, and the retail workers are dreadfully rude, but if you make eye contact and smile, they’ll help you find an item. I will continue to frequent this location… probably ’cause I don’t have many options.

I kind of hate this Walgreens, but since I live right down the street, there are times when it’s just plain the most convenient location for what I need. The store is jam-packed, but mysteriously doesn’t carry certain items that it seems like they would. Customer serivce is non-existent, and I think one of these days I’m going to die of old age in the check-out line. I have had some very unpleasant experiences with the pharmacy, to the point that I now use the CVS up the street for my few pharmacy needs. I stop in here for the ATM more than anything else. That being said, this is the place for when I need some random item(eggs for breakfast, tape, etc.) and don’t want to actually get in my car and go somewhere. I have fortunately not encountered any panhandlers, though the customers definitely get sketchier-looking after dark. Bottom line, it’s a not particularly new Walgreens — what can you really expect?

This Walgreens stinks. SO busy, and super rude staff. The layout doesn’t make any sense considering how much foot traffic they get… it’s perfectly laid out to be congested even with just 3 – 4 people in the store. Go to the one on Poplar and Cleveland. Much better.

I went to the Take Care Clinic this week when I suspected that I had strep throat. I made the appointment online — from my iPhone, while still in bed! — and then went to the clinic at 9AM. I had my test by 9:15, results by 9:20, and was out the door with medication by 9:45. This was my first time at a Take Care Clinic and it was a very good experience. Thanks to the staff there for quickly taking care of me, especially when I felt so bad.

Went early in the morning was no wait and I got to fill my perscription right at the same location. They even followed up with me the Saturday following my appt. to make sure I was feeling better.

Really this place is the bane of my existance. I’ve come to accept that the majority of cashiers in Memphis do their job very very slowly, however this place is the worst. Then the store is never clean. I don’t know if they are just really understaffed and they can’t have people stock the shelves and other people check you out. The lay out of the store is horrible as well. Add the fact that there are people bothering you for change everytime you go in and we have the worst place to shop in Memphis.

Convenient to my home. I echo the sentiments of the other reviewers of being very perturbed by the panhandler presence and having to hear the rants of a disgruntled employee. Nonetheless, these things won’t stop me from going back.

This particular Walgreen’s is located at Union and S. McLean Blvd. I have nothing negative to say about the merchandise, for it is your typical Walgreen’s. What I do have to comment on is the lack of management here doing anything in the way of the panhandler situation. Every time I come here, which I have recently stopped coming here at all, I am harassed to no end by panhandlers right outside their double doors. The last time I went was the icing on the cake. I had a man approach my car before I even had time to shut off the engine. He was begging me to purchase him an iced tea or a pop. Seeing as I was alone, and I know how annoyingly persistent they can be, I knew I would purchase him a drink simply because I did not want to deal with him or his fit of anger when I left… alone. I went into the Walgreen’s looking for my quick purchases, picked them up and headed over to get the man a 79cent soda. As I am walking up to the counter he suddenly appears with a banana in his hand. He of course, approaches me with«Hey you got 50 cents, I need this banana» now –we are right in front of 2 registers– both manned with staff who are watching this go down. I am pretty perturbed at this point, so I reply with«no sir, I am already getting you a soda.» He persists and persists throughout my entire purchase. I finally look up at the clerk and say«Are you seriously okay with this? You aren’t going to help me at all?» He shrugged. That was his response to customer’s being harassed by pan handlers on this store’s premises. I paid for my things, handed the guy his soda and made a mad dash for my car before he could follow me and ask for anything else. When I returned home, I told my husband who contacted this location. They told him there was«nothing they could do about the panhandler situation.» Sure there is! How about not allow them in your store– or hire a security guard to stand outside like other Memphis establishments. I will not be going here, and have driven out of my way to avoid most Walgreen’s establishments because of this. Any business that puts the comfort and safety of their loyal customers at risk is just plain horrid in my eyes.
