The«staff»(it’s always one guy) is very helpful. Occasionally you can catch an unknown brand of liquor on sale but this place is more convenient that competitive price wise. Although the major brands are represented well and almost always have every available size for purchase.

Tip Top has completely remodeled their store. It’s definitely a change for the better. Although the selection isn’t huge, they make up for it in friendliness and prices. This is the place to go for cheap and quick liquor runs.

This is my go to liquor store because of it’s proximity to my house. It’s in the Overton Square area. It doesn’t have as large as a selection as say Buster’s, but it has a surprisingly large selection considering it’s a small space. They recently remodeled the inside and the outside and it looks a lot nicer now. The owners/staff are super friendly. They remember you and are willing to help you always. The prices are fairly average.

When I am in need of a spiritual uplift I come to Tip Top. They have recently begun some renovations and all… I must say I am glad about one thing. They still are selling $ 7 champagne and wine! Most of them are either moscato or table reds and whites, or Cooks brand for the champagne but for $ 7 I can dig it. We went in the other day and I noticed he also sells high gravity beers. This is mostly my place for wine and champagnes bc the only liquor I really drink is tequila and he has very limited selection in that area. But if you are a brown liquor person there seems to be alot to choose from. Overall its a pretty nice place. Not too big but he makes the space work.

This liquor store is about the same as any other liquor store when it comes to price and selection. However the guy who works there I’m not sure if he is the owner but he is a very Nice guy. He is very helpful, he always lets me bring my bike in, he is knowledgeable so I shop here because of the great customer service

Tip Top Liquors is an unassuming, rather plain– dare I say it, even ugly– liquor store in Midtown. What I enjoy about it is that it isn’t anything more or less than what it claims to be. It’s your average, run of the mill, seedy liquor store. These were a dime a dozen in my hometown and because of that, Tip Top offers some comfort. Well, as much comfort as a seedy liquor store can offer I suppose. There’s something lovely about not trying too hard. And let’s just say Tip Top won’t win any awards for trying too hard. I totally agree with Martie P when she says this is a great place to stop and pick up last minute liquor for your parties. Everything about this place reminds me of being 21 in Chicago– when we used to frequent the corner liquor store for cases of beer and bottles of Boone’s Farm before heading to so-and-so’s kegger. Sure, Tip Top has some competition in the Midtown/Downtown areas. Their competition is fancy and shiny and pretty. The competition’s employees are well educated on the pairings of wines and will steer you in the direction of something fabulous should the need arise. You won’t find this at Tip Top. The dude behind the counter here is a tad bit sketch to say the least, he might be wearing plaid flannel, smell of Marlboro Reds and stale beer– and if you ask him for his advice of what to pick up he might set you up with some 40s or a case of Miller High Life. Let us not mistake that for him not being friendly. Nope, he’s friendly as all get out and will talk your ear off if given the chance. There’s nothing wrong with that– it just depends on what exactly you are looking for in your liquor store. For this gal? Well, I love an expensive bottle of wine as much as the next guy, but I also have some trash in my veins– and for that? Yeah, Tip Top fits the bill perfectly.

This place is really close & convenient. It’s quite small, however. Somehow, I don’t think it caters to the wine crowd(the wine they had was pretty dusty). Although, it has a little bit of everything. Prices seem to be on par with Joe’s(on Poplar/Belvedere). The employee answered the«do you have such-in-such» question more than once with, «we used to have that it stock, but it wasn’t selling.» They have a decent selection of liquor, including a wide variety of sizes, as well, as package deals — I saw jäger bomb set ups sold with jagermeister, for instance. If you’re looking for a great selection of wine, go to Busters. But, if you want to pick up a cheap bottle of wine, like Crane Lake, or grab some last minute liquor for a party, then this is your place.
