The Tailgate Partycart provides fresh comfort foods and a family-friendly food cart experience for downtown workers, residents, visitors and tourists. The theme of the street cart is local sports teams and franchises, such as the Memphis Tigers, Redbirds, Grizzlies and Tennessee Titans … and for people that enjoy ballpark or the nostalgic street vendor experience. Specialties include mouthwatering hot dogs, Texas red hot links, beef brats, chuckwagon chili, steam-baked bbq beans, potato salad, cole slaw, chips, desserts, soft drinks and so much more.
History
Established in 2015.
In 2007, the original plan was to feature the 1907 steam oven used by my grandmother to make steamed cheeseburgers and other delicious foods. The cost of opening a small downtown restaurant was prohibitive, so this concept was put on hold.
I decide to start a small business that was 100% debt free with lower overhead to help insure my long term success.
In 2012, The Tailgate Party Cart concept originated with the purchase of a nostalgic hot dog steamer. I decided to feature it on a self-contained golf cart for easy deployment and access to sidewalks and street side parking spaces.
I began to slowly acquire food service components, construction materials, and everything it takes to build a professional standalone mobile food cart. Significant progress was made in 2014 by purchasing the golf cart, developing the website, and finalizing designs around health department requirements.
In spring of 2015, storage space was rented and construction began. We’ll launch by August 2015.
