Saab of Memphis

First off… This is not a Saab dealership. Saab does not exist any longer. It changed hands a few times and ended up being bought by a new Swedish company, National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) bought Saab Automobile’s bankrupt estate from Spyker Cars.
NEVS lost its license to manufacture automobiles under the Saab name in the summer of 2014. Since then, none have been manufactured, using the Saab label.
So, there you go… some schooling on Saab.
Anyway, this is a used car dealership operated by the Gwantney family. I was a little concerned when I arrived at the dealership and no one was in the showroom. Not a single employee for at least 10 minutes. I got a service tech’s attention and he got a woman who explained that everyone was in a sales meeting. It was early on a Monday morning so I get it, I guess…
They dismiss from the meeting and there is some confusion on who is going to help me. Don’t be stupid now… this is going to be an easy home run gang!
I was there to buy a car that I had already stalked and pretty much knew that it was going home with me. Aside from smoking and rattling it was mine.
I end up with Mr. «K». Seriously, that is what his card said. I am not sure of his nationality but he was very nice and did what little he had to do to get me in my car. He let me drive as long as I wanted, in any direction that I wanted and never said a word about where we were headed.
After we got back it was time for business. I met the sales manager. Mr. Lanier was great! No pressure for additional warranties or any of that other crap. My last car buying experience almost ended with me leaving right before signing the contract because the finance guy was impossible about the warranties and even said, «Hey, can’t I make some money here». [Homer Skelton in Olive Branch].
I was in and out in about two hours which I thought was pretty good time. I got the car I wanted, the price I wanted, and a kick ass interest rate. What more could you ask for when buying a car? Latte’s I guess…

purchased a beautiful used vehicle from David Gwatney yesterday. he made my buying experience a good one. went out of his way to make sure that i was happy with the vehicle, financing and price. would strongly recommend David to any friends and or relatives looking for a new or used vehicle.

I bought a car here today and was helped by Loren. It was a no BS, no pressure sell and it was a pleasure to work with them.
They took the frustration and theater out of buying a car. No drama, no pressure.
I was in and out and they were courteous and efficient.

Went to look at a used car at this dealership, and no one even seemed interested in speaking with me. I’m assuming it’s because I look much younger than I am, but that is still no reason to not even care about trying to make a sale.
After a test drive, they told me what they would offer for my vehicle (which was over $ 1000 less than two other dealerships in town had offered the same day). There was also a coupon on their website for $ 1000 more towards your trade-​in… when I mentioned this to the salesman he informed me that a few other people had come in stating that this coupon existed, but he assured me that it did not.
They changed the price to a decent amount after I declined the first offer, but then still had no interest in working out details with purchasing from them. I was very interested in the vehicle they had, but I believe I will be sticking with Gossett for all of my purchases from now on. At least they are MORE than willing to work with you to get the perfect deal. Thanks but no thanks, Gwatney.

My sister had been searching for a convertible for quite some time and while we were visiting family in Memphis we decided to stop at the Saab dealership on a whim. Everyone was very helpful and did exactly what they said they would do. Usually you read on the internet all of the different scams dealerships will try but here everything was straight forward and no confusion, stress, or pressure and we love the car!!! Thanks so much!!!
