I braved the strange flowery smell of Michaels to build a photography box for a class project. The staff helped immensely ensuring I got the right materials and didn’t have to make multiple trips.

Like the store, but turns out it’s NOT open until 9pm on Sunday as the app said. Try 7.

Go see Matt in the framing department for an excellent custom framing job. He may seem gruff, but he’ll make sure the job gets done right. The man knows how to take care of business, and he won’t mislead you about how the work will turn out. Also, watch for good deals and specials. They frequently have great sales on framing of all sorts.

I feel oh so very crafty whenever I enter a Michaels. I want to learn to bake cakes! I want to pick up a glitterly bedazzler fetish and bedazzle all my clothes! I want to find umpteen photos to frame! Look at me paint this canvas like Bob Ross! This location will fit the bill when you need it, but it is pretty tiny compared to the one on White Station and it isn’t as clean and tidy. The aisles are pretty cramped and don’t lend well to browsing. If you find yourself in the area, I’d drive a bit further to the Hobby Lobby down the street. It’s like air conditioning in August compared to this Michaels location.

I love the selection at Michaels. It’s been essential for me, as I’ve needed so much stuff there lately, with buying stuff for my wedding. Ribbons, favours, all sorts of things. The most indispensable thing for me here was the floral department. I bought my silk flowers elsewhere(couldn’t find suitable ones at any Michaels, oh well) and got them arranged. They look wonderful! The girl in the floral department is just awesome. One thing they also do here that I never got an opportunity to look into was sprayed flowers. They have examples up and they do look just like ones you’d see for sale, though I’m not sure how wide a range of colours there are. But the arrangements themselves are great, and the prices are reasonable. You get a discount if you get the flowers there, too. It’s a good thing I don’t weigh heavily for customer service, though, ugh. The cashiers here tend to be some of the nastiest people I’ve ever encountered. I say that to the point where if I’d been able to get my flowers arranged elsewhere(like Hobby Lobby), I would’ve. Considering how often I’ve been in lately and how much I’ve spent, to basically be accused of trying to return something they didn’t carry(never mind it said«manufactured by Michaels» on the packaging) is unappreciated and is really making me consider not shopping here anymore now that I have my flowers. The floral department and selection gets five stars(though the selection *in* the floral department leaves a lot to be desired, but due to the store’s size they can’t carry everything), their customer service gets zero stars.

Michael’s makes me want to get really spendy. Especially since they carry an awesome selection of Martha Stewart brand craft supplies. I am a sucker for good packaging, and Martha does it. I have at least six varieties of glitter, stickers, and pretty paper. I love Michael’s selection of everything, from silk flowers, candles, frames, pictures, to the massive selection of card and scrapbook supplies. And their dollar bins! Near the front of the store — I always get cheapo, cute little pads of paper, tissue with my inital on it, lip gloss, etc.
