So in the last few months this restaurant has really gone down hill. I no longer even love the soup I adored so much! Prices up food quality down:(

Used to be a decent place, but last two times I went the service was TERRIBLE. Extremely slow. Brought my boyfriends food, but never mine(two chicken tacos) until after I said something. Found a bone in our chicken nachos when we gave them a second chance. The food was cold and meat was dry. Waitress only had one other table and our table of 2 was there for an hour. Never going back. Mexican food is hard to screw up… They do a good job.

I give the service & wait for service 3 stars, the food 4 stars, and the kindness of the employees 5 stars. They were pretty busy, but upstairs our waitress just chatted with coworkers for 5 – 10 minutes while we said we only needed a minute to decide. I was about to eat my hand. But they were still sweet.

I’m a big fan of this place. Service is consistently good and the food is always very excellent. I’ve never had issue with portion sizes or quality. Every time I’ve been has been a good one. However, their nachos are a bit small and are not satisfying. I frequent the one by the Paradiso and have never had an issue. It’s my favorite Mexican place in Memphis.

This place was fair(at best). Salsa and queso were runny and minimally flavorful… as was the taco salad(and I did say«salad»). Drink was weak. Server had no personality at all and didn’t seem like she was very interested in being there. Really a waste of money.

This place is great for happy hour and drink specials. I ordered their fresh guacamole. A little bit chunky for me. Top it off with some fresh jalapeños and I can have this with a cold glass of margarita and chips all night. The upstairs is huge with a nice patio section. There’s a vegetarian section that has chalupas, cheese quesadilla, bean burrito, tacos, enchiladas and tostada. I ordered the vegetarian bean burrito/tostada combo which I wasn’t too impressed, but there’s definitively enough food to keep you full. My friends ordered the shrimp quesadilla, and shrimp and chicken fajitas. They weren’t really fond of the Chorizo that came inside the dish. A bit spicy for them. I’ll definitely come back again for the fresh guacamole.

This is a decent option for some quick Mexican food and a good margarita. The service has always been efficient, but not the cleanest restaurant I’ve ever seen. I find myself here more out of its proximity to my home than for a fantastic meal.

If you’ll see my last review, it’s pretty clear what the problem is here. I’ve been a loyal customer here since they opened. And started going to the Southaven MiPueblo 16 years ago. I still love the grub. However, today we took my nieces here for lunch after seeing a movie(They are 10 and 12) we sat on the balcony with two other tables. One table had six, low-class women(I’m assuming based on their behavior) who sat and screamed and yelled so loud we couldn’t hear ourselves talk. They were dropping F-bombs, GD-bombs, and being sexually explicit.(I have the video) It was a TERRIBLE experience. We’ve complained and nothing has been done, so I can only guess that MiPueblo prefers that type of customer over us. That was the last time — we ain’t-a-goin’ back. Pity.

I’m a Mexican food snob, so when we opted for this place the very first time, I was kind of nervous. I didn’t realize how large the restaurant was until we headed upstairs for the patio. It’s a great menu, delicious drinks, and our service was pretty good! We’ll be back!

I would never have imagined a scenario where I would give a Mexican restaurant one star, but this deserved no better. From the beginning to the end, this was a terrible experience. It took a long time for us to be seated, because we had to wait for the hostess to return while two of the servers just stared at us. We ordered margaritas and waters to drink, and our waitress had to keep coming back to ask us questions about the margaritas, which we had told her when we ordered. When we finally got the margaritas, they were the worst. They tasted like tequila, watered down, with maybe a tiny squeeze of lime and something vaguely sweet. I’ve never had such a flavorless margarita! We told the waitress they were bad, and she had no response whatsoever. Then we had to ask for water again, since she didn’t bring those. The salsa was extremely watery, although the taste wasn’t bad. Almost ten minutes after taking our order, the waitress came back to ask D some questions about his-because she still hadn’t sent it to the kitchen. When our food came out it was lukewarm and flavorless. We were in a hurry to meet some friends, so I didn’t have time to argue about paying for the margaritas that we took two drinks of, and our waitress made no offer to take them off the bill, so I just sucked it up and paid for them. I have NOIDEA how this place is still in business, but I recommend you stay away. Terrible service, drinks and food? I would have given it zero stars if I could have.

Bad, bad, bad. Bad service, bad ambiance, bad food. Avoid. I had the carnitas fajitas. They were dry and bland. The first table they sat us at was so crowded(pushed up against a wall) that even my child couldn’t get in on that side. It was as if we were asking for their first born to move tables. Getting a drink was like cracking a safe, and once received was bad, watered down. I wish we would have just given up and left before we «tried» to eat.

I’ve eaten Mi Pueblo for a few years now and it is still my favorite Mexican restaurant. They never let me down. They have american Mexican and authentic Mexican. The grilled chicken with rice and queso is to die for! Definitely my go to place for Mexican.

My wife and I are originally from Arizona and take our Mexican food very seriously. I actually cook quite a few dishes myself because it is one of our favorite foods. Mi Pueblo is the only Mexican food restaurant in the Memphis area that I will continually visit. I have tried many Mexican food restaurants in the five years since we moved here after retiring from the Army and have been extremely disappointed every time until now. I have now been here several times and every time it is delicious. I always ask for other hot sauces and there are a couple that are absolutely delicious and a little hotter than the one they bring out with the chips. The staff is always very polite and the place is always clean. They have definitely made regulars of my wife and I.

The food was below average. The burrito I had was a smedium [small + medium]. After eating it I was still hungry. The drinks were great and prices were a win. The service was great as well.

I love this place! Over the last week, I’ve been here twice and both times it was excellent. The first time we came for lunch and sat downstairs. The service wasn’t great, in fact it was kind of bad on the waiter’s behalf but the manager and everyone else was very nice and everything was delicious so that didn’t matter much. Our waiter was just not very attentive but who cares when you have awesome margaritas and tasty food! The second time we came for dinner and sat upstairs and it was even better! Bernice was our waitress and she is such a sweetheart! We loved her! She also made table side guac(not on the menu, $ 6.99 and amazing!) and checked on us regularly. At night, they’re dressed more formal too and present the restaurant in a different way from all the other Mexican places around. I would definitely recommend Mi Pueblo if you like good food, awesome drinks, and tasty homemade dips and salsa at a great price! Thanks guys! P. S. The location that’s on Unilocal at the Black St. address is the same location :)

Dark, which left me wondering what horrors I could not see. The food was just mediocre at best.

Came here with the wife tonight after receiving a $ 5 off coupon from the local paper. The place had the typical Mexican food place décor. Chips were very good. Thin and crispy, with a very mild salsa but tasty and fresh. My wife cannot handle any heat so I always gauge the spice level from her perspective rather than my «heat-seeker» point of view. We both had the enchiladas, she had the regular house style enchiladas and I had the rancheras style. We both had steak, I really enjoyed mine. Delicious guacamole smothered, with lettuce on top, and the enchiladas sauce is quite unique but original and good. My wife was not sold on them as much. That being said I tried a couple of bites of hers after I demolished mine and really thought about the flavors, but I have to say I liked it, but I can see how she might not. She and I both loved the chips and salsa and we will come back to give it another shot. The service was a little slow, but they kept the drinks and chips and salsa filled, this no complaints here, amigo. She wanted to try the speedy Gonzales, and I’ll probably stick with rancheras one more time just because I loved it. We both loved the great alcohol prices as well, cheap!

Average Mexican food, at best, although the atmosphere on the upstairs patio is pretty cool. My first test of any traditional Mexican restaurant is the chips(so-so) & salsa(fresh, but lacking any real flavor). I decided to try the enchiladas suprema, based on previous positive ratings. Here again, just average. I do give Mi Pueblo high marks for their service, a decent glass of sangria and very reasonable prices.

I’m addicted to their enchiladas. I need a twelve step program. Hell, this place is about twelve steps from my house, so that’s probably not the program that I need. We recently moved to the neighborhood, and have been here three times in one week. Every time, I order the enchiladas. And the sangria is about as smooth as at it comes. I love the upstairs patio. It’s mid-December and they have enclosed with plastic and heated it with portable heaters. The place is huge with upstairs and downstairs seating. The service is super friendly and fast and the food is fantastic. Maybe being an East Memphis resident isn’t so bad after all!
