The worst care I have ever been given!!! The ER is ran by idiots and after almost 7 hours I had to force somebody to see me only for the nurse who triaged me to ask why I was back cus she even knew I should have been cared for. After another hour and a half I had to basicly Force them to give me iv and meds but not even strong enough because they don’t have a room for me in the back on in a triage room in the front… after 8 and a half hours. Generally clean and organized — bring a jacket or sweater — it can be very cold. Parking is free but difficult at times. Check-in is north of the Emergency Room which is on the West side of the building.

After Methodist Germantown ER found my husband’s brain tumor on a CT scan, they loaded him up immediately and brought him here. This hospital has some of the South’s best neurosurgeons and staff. Dr. Sorensen from Semmes Murphy performed the surgery perfectly. The surgical nurses were exceptional in keeping me updated every 30 minutes throughout my husband’s 6+ hour surgery. After the surgery, his floor nurses in neuro ICU kept him fully stocked with his favorite juices and Popsicles. They even gave me great tips for eating at the hospital cafeteria. Thank you so much. You would never know he had this surgery almost 10 months ago. While the neighborhood after dark can be scary, they make sure there are buses to take you to and from the parking lot. I thought hospital security did a great job rounding up some of the ER escapees. If nothing else, it was highly entertaining to stand back and watch.

The nurse who quickly took labs was very pleasant. Everyone else is rude and unhelpful. Any questions are met with«I can’t answer that.» That also was 5 hours ago and counting. If you are watching their online wait time, then please understand it is nothing but a random number the three women talking and laughing at the desk are putting in. It has absolutely no bearing on reality. If you are hurt and in need of immediate medical attention, it would be faster to go and get your medical degree and treat yourself than to receive any help here.

I have had wonderful experiences with the ER and inpatient staff at both the Tower and East wings — very surprised by the negative comments. Every single staff member, PT, doctor, nurse, aides and even the security and parking guys are helpful and friendly. The“new” ER is amazing.

I tell ya, I had think long and hard on how to rate. I believe they do give a better choice for health care compared to other area hospitals. That being said, they need to better train the staff on hospitality. Would it hurt for them to be just a fraction less rude? Geesh! Every time I visit somebody, I encounter a rude, unhappy, stick in the back, mean person.

I waited from 3:15 pm until 9:10 pm in the ER waiting room. They gave me a $ 20,000.00CAT Scan but didn’t check on me until I complained now.
