***NOWCLOSED, after 30 years.*** Located in a Queen Anne home with turret room, La Tourelle has offered excellent French cuisine and an award winning wine list for years. Modeled after an elegant French country home, this is easily one of the more romantic restaurants in Memphis. The ‘price fixe’ Sunday Brunches have been a family favorite, since the days of Chef Erling Jensen. Sadly, he departed La Tourelle to open his own restaurant(see my review), but the new Chef, Thomas Schranz is good in his own right. My favorites: cherrywood-smoked shrimp, balsamic marinated swordfish with roasted corn custard. For desert, the chocolate soufflé or the flour-less chocolate cake with their homemade ice cream are incomparable! Service is attentive & discreet.
