La Quinta Inn & Suites Memphis East-Sycamore View

If I could give it no stars, I would. This had to be the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
After waking up to find our car missing from the lot, the young girl at the counter was completed unapologetic and even laughed at us a few times. She also proceeded to keep switching up her story as to why it was towed away. We asked her several questions out of liability and she refused to tell us her name (we got it anyways).

The price was reasonable, the location worked for my travels and the staff is very nice — but I found a live cockroach in the bathroom. I mentioned it quietly to the front desk clerk and he was apologetic, saying the manager would probably contact me and adjust my rate. I didn’t hear from anyone at the hotel, so when I checked out I mentioned to the front desk clerk on duty that day. She too was apologetic and said she’d let their maintenance person know.
This was my second stay at the property, but will probably be the last.

As my wife and I approached the hotel, she had a sense of déjà vu. It turns out that she had stayed here before with family a long time ago although the lobby pool she recalled was replaced by a breakfast area.
This hotel was conveniently located less than a mile from I-​40 on a strip of other budget-​to-​moderate level hotels. The immediate surroundings weren’t very attractive but I did not feel unsafe.
Our accessible room looked good but there were some issues getting on the very high mattress. We called the front desk who seemed to know this was an chronic problem as they had a stepstool on standby for guests to use. The hotel staff did bring up the stepstool promptly.
The free breakfast had a nice variety. I was very disappointed in the fitness center, a tiny box with maybe two pieces of old cardio equipment.
I would recommend this property to people with long legs who are not intimidated by typical urban surroundings. The staff may not be able to help the location but they need to lower the height of the bed and mattress.

Stayed here for two nights while in town. Probably the best customer service I’ve ever had at a hotel. Staff was friendly and attentive. After I checked in the front desk called a little while later just to check to see if everything was satisfactory. Additionally, during breakfast there was an employee walking from table to table welcoming people and checking that everything was ok again. No issues, everything was great. Only reason I’m not giving five stars is that the neighborhood is a little iffy, but not that bad…
I’m glad to see some people still care about the customer experience!
Other bonus to the hotel is that there’s no extra pet fee (I travel all over North America with my dog and this is rare).

I checked out early in the morning and wrote the following review 5 hours ago, within minutes after i left the hotel. The guy at the front just called to ask us to return the pillow we took otherwise he would charge $ 15 for it. He said the hpusekeeper couldnt locate 6^th pillow in the room. Well, this one did it. I moved a star from the review. Also, we moved the 6^th pillow into the closet. I guess they dont clean the closets!

Staying here made me sad. Really dirty and very unpleasant. First the hotel called me in the morning and asked when we were coming in. I told them at 5 but we ended up coming in at 3. She told us since i said i wad coming in late they didnt clean the room yet and that they were taking time to do so. That was pretty bizzarre.
As far as ratings go — It had a good rating on trip advisor when i booked it. I only checked reviews on Unilocal when i was checking in. That was a mistake, Unilocal was right. The lobby was a bit outdated when i was checking in but cleanish. The staff was friendly so i thought was ok until i went in the room. Everything was outdated dusty and dirty. The only thing they seem to do is pick up trash and change bed with old bedsheets. Pretty bad. The bedsheet made me itchy all night. I scratched my feet until they bled. The bed sheet got blood on it which made me realize what brown stains on bedsheet were. Shower curtain smelled musty. They prob dont wash that as often as they should.
Breakfast was ready at 6. They had waffles cereal pastry etc made me think oh at least one thing look decent. I couldnt b more wrong. Sausage tasted freezer burn n cold. Waffle smelled and tasted a bit old. Boiled egg was soaked in vinegar. The only things edible were banana, pastry and cereal.
This hotel was pretty bad. We paid over $ 100here which only deserved to be a $ 60 motel. This place seemed to be family owned. or i could be being a racist. I would say stay away from this hotel but it looks like many motels in memphis are like this. All mearby motels looked outdated and sad like this one.

Really good experience. Everything’s clean And organized. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Who else would run out and greet us to show us where to park our Uhaul?! Breakfast was pretty good and not messy. They had biscuits and gravy and sausage. Waffles. Cereal. Yummy pastries. Fresh fruit. This hotel had the best shower ever plus a high quality shower head with multiple settings. Bed was pretty comfortable. TV had all the channels and picture was good.

The property is maintained beautifully, The staff could not be more friendly or helpful, wonderful breakfast included. Better than many four and five-​star hotels I have paid much more to stay in! Couldn’t give a higher recommendation, best La Quinta I’ve ever stayed in

Traveling from Kentucky from Texas we chose to stay at LaQuinta Suites. We love their pet policy. After staying in this one off of 12C Sycamore we have never been more disgusted. Upon arriving to the room I showered and was preparing to get into my bed when I noticed hairs and a reddish color stain in my bed. Not just any hair but what appears to be pubic hair. I do not have any idea what the reddish colored stain was. They offered another room which when the beds were inspected I found another stain on one of the beds. It was obvious the sheets had not been washed since my husband took the key card and some of the stain started scraping off. The final room was ok. If I had not have taken my sleep medication my family and I would have left immediately. I am very disappointed with this establishment. The attempt to redo the hotel are lacking in the upstairs rooms considerably. The downstairs is ok but it is obvious the job was rushed and you can see the chipped tables. I give one star because I did think the fireplace area minus the chipped tables was nice and modern not like the rooms. I should also mention that the hallway smelled of urine. The rooms however smelled fine.

On my way back to Texas, after a long 15+ hour drive from NYC, I needed a place to stay. It was important the hotel I stayed at accepted pets with a reasonable fee. My feline traveling companion was tired and edgy too– carrier fever. This La Quinta was perfect! It was non-​smoking, clean and affordable. A big plus, No pet fee! Which proved a clean-​pet-​accepting hotel doesn’t need a huge non-​refundable fee. In my opinion kids can be worse in destruction of property and noise than pets.
Kudos to the front desk person, Pratima. She is warm and friendly. My only complaint is the bed is too high. I had to be careful getting off it when nature called in the middle of the night (I know TMI). However, it was very comfortable once resting on it.

Nice stay. Clean. Staff nice. Remote for tv was chewed by a dog who had previously stayed there. No real complaints tho. I’d stay again.

We are on a 6 week trip and stay in LaQuinta Inns all across the nation. This is the worst. I reserved a handicapped king and was told the reservation came into their system as a double. We are celebrating our wedding anniversary!!! Why would I reserve a double room (which I have never done!). The room smells. I am handicapped and they put us on the 2^nd floor, a great inconvenience even with an elevator. There was a blood stain found on my sheet.
They would do nothing when I voiced my complaints. I couldn’t breathe this morning because of the wet dog smell, due to allergies.
This will make me rethink our next hotel stay. I am appalled! Can’t wait for the survey.

Recently remodeled, very clean. Exceeded my expectations. Very comfy bed.
Parking very tight, no room for anything with a trailer, no truck or RV parking. You’ll have to find a spot in the street or somewhere else. But the hotel is very nice.
Had one issue with the room AC unit. 3 am the fan started making a squealing noise. But that my only issue with the place. I’d stay there again.

Holy cow this place is disgusting. Lipstick on a pig, they’ve tried to cover up problems with some redecorating but the awful smell, the stained and broken ceiling tiles, the old AC, the endless and stupid rules (no entry through side doors, $ 250 fine if you leave your pup while you go out to dinner…)
I would never, ever, ever stay here again. There is plenty more to say but I’m too frustrated to say so right now. Avoid this disgusting hotel…

very clean room, super friendly and helpful staff, wonderful beds and tv. our first room had a broken door lock so we called the staff and they came immediately and helped us switch rooms. we had difficulty accessing the wifi and again a staff member promptly came to the room and helped us get on wifi. not a huge area to walk the dog, but adequate near parking lot in the rear. we did not use the pool but it is indoors and looked nice. the breakfast provided was plentiful (better than other La Quintas) and the area in which to eat was pretty. somewhat out of the way for us but from reviews it was a better choice than other La Quintas in Memphis.
For pet friendly places I dont think you can beat La Quintas!

While traveling across country with pets, especially cats, it is often difficult to find decent hotels to accommodate your needs. La Quinta, with the exception of a few properties, are generally very happy to accommodate pets and, they do so without charge.
After traveling across country for five days, this was the last night of our five day trip. We seriously needed a good bed in a secure room that was clean, comfortable and affordable. The La Quinta in Memphis East-​Sycamore View was just the ticket.
Our room was large, modern, clean and comfortable. It was furnished with a large wide screen TV, a microwave, coffee bar and refrigerator. Everything was fresh, smelled clean and looked brand new. And the beds were better than some I have slept in at hotels charging $ 200 or more a night! In fact, over the years, I have come to experience some of the best beds in the hotel industry at La Quintas.
But the best thing about the stay is this: they accepted my kitty, and we all know that a happy kitty means a happy trip the following day.
Thank you La Quinta … you continue to be at the top of my travel list.

I stayed 3 nights here Oct.12−15. I was on the 4^th floor. It was very quiet and clean. The front desk clerk and managers were very friendly and concerned about me having a good stay. It is close to the interstate. The housekeeping staff was also nice. I will return next time I am in town.

Stayed here overnight while on a road trip. I like La Quinta since they are dog friendly and have comfy beds. This location also had great reviews on Tripadvisor. Maybe I got a bad room, but it had an overwhelming smell of mildew that really grossed me out. The smell even bothered me while sleeping. The entire room was visibly unlevel. The floor/​wall carpet trim was all completely pulled away from the wall. Reviews said this location was having renovations, I didn’t notice any, but my room clearly needed it. It was an ADA room and I’m guessing it has been possibly flooded before. The shower didn’t drain completely due to being unlevel and I could hear large amounts of water draining in the wall, from 2^nd floor, but it didn’t sound like it was going thru the pipes. Not worth $ 80 for the night. In hindsight I wish I had asked to switch rooms.

I think it was good. Everything worked and the pool as well. It wa very quite.
