Gadd’s Barber Shop

Great little spot I found on a whim via help. Looks can be decieving, but this little barber shop holds it own! Can’t beat a $ 15 haircut in 15 minutes. Classic, reliable, cash-​only and is run by a kind lady who works hard to pay the bills. A beautiful snapshot of a simpler America.

Had a terrible cut. The building and furniture is barely staying together and I don’t think they had cleaned the shop in more than a week. I’m used to my cut taking upwards of 5 minutes and attention being paid to the details. My standard is tight as you can get on the sides, faded up, mop on top. Top gets trimmed but only lightly. I have very curly hair, so taking the time to get the top right matters… Literally all I got was snips from the scissors on top. She didn’t touch it, didn’t measure it out. I wasn’t about to ask her to put a hard part in (part shaved in with a straight razor). She didn’t even ask about my beard which is getting out of control. Also, my sides aren’t even. Rest assured I won’t be going back.

$ 14 for a men’s haircut that took about 5 minutes start to finish and looked great. This is a barebones operation– just a few chairs, no hairwashing, no hot towels and all that jazz. Just a solid, friendly haircut at a fantastic price.

Lisa was great, quick and efficient and listened to exactly what I wanted and then did in in about 12 minutes. This is a no frills barber shop. If it was mine I would get some mid century stuff and make it look a bit more slick.
At the end of the day though I would be back here in a hot second. Thanks!

I needed a haircut quick while on vacation in Memphis. I did not catch the name of the particular lady that cut my hair but she did a fantastic job, doing exactly as I asked. She was friendly and prompt. A quick in and out. They do not take card though, so bring cash. 13 bucks for a men’s barber haircut is a steal.

Price was right. Great haircut. Good conversation. A real old school feel.
What’s not to love? Rarely do the vacation haircut but this time it paid off.

She does a good job. Very nice lady. I only got a buzz so I can’t vouch for anything beyond that, but I was happy with it. Haircut is $ 13.00, cash or check only.

Gadd’s is an old-​timey barbershop with a pole, the kind I remember from my childhood. Lisa can cut most anyone’s hair any way they want it. I have never been disappointed!
