Hi I’m Ed, founder of both Mic’s Place and Care Nests. This is the story of how I brought the top level of care for Medicare waiver recipients into their homes! Care Nests is an offshoot of Mic’s Place. You might be wondering what is Mic’s Place? It’s a «star performing» state approved provider of personal assistance to individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities.
What’s Mic’s Place have to do with Care Nests? Well after 8 years of providing excellent care to Medicaid waiver recipients, I decided to bring the same excellence to the senior care market.
My motivation to help seniors and my perspective as to what’s important comes from my experiences with my mother. It pained me to hear her complain of her difficulties caring for my father who had Parkinson’s disease. My parents spent their last 7 years together in an assisted living community. The cost of this care proved to be draining on their finances at approximately $ 45,000 per year. When my father passed away, my mother’s loneliness was intense. Our families’ concern for her well being weighted heavily on all of us.
«Our company focus is not to grow big and fast, but rather to provide the best care possible, quite sincerely the care I would expect for my mother or myself, in time.»

Business Owner
Because of our hands on approach and our real life experiences, our employees stay with us on the average of 5 to 7 years. It is my personal goal to meet each new customer in person and spend a day with them to better understand their specific needs and match those needs to the selected caregiver. Care Nests limits new customers to five (5) per month. Our company focus is not to grow big and fast, but rather to provide the best care possible, quite sincerely the care I would expect for my mother or myself, in time.
