Best Gyro in Memphis ! Everything was so fresh and so filling ! I just had a gyro without chips or fries and I was just full after the gyro ! The pita bread is so soft but crispy too and the meat is so crispy and flavorful definitely the best place in Memphis to get a filling, fresh, and tasty gyro!

It says first check-​in but it’s actually my fifth time in Captain JJ. The employees are friendly, patient because of the many choices a customer has to make. I chose the Tilipila and Catfish with fries this afternoon& didn’t make a terrible choice instead the food is EXCELLENT. I think will try another option next time in Captain JJ’s plus they got five other locations in Memphis. Check them out!

Second time trying this place, and also the last.
First visit — was craving fried chicken. Ordered chicken, fries, and fried pickles. Everything was heavily coated in seasoned salt, ruining even fried pickles (which I normally love). Chicken bland.
Second visit — went with wings, fries, and cheese sticks. Asked for light seasoning, which helped the fries, but didn’t realize even cheese sticks would get the salt treatment. Wings were soggy. They were breaded (ugh), which I associate with boneless wings, not whole ones. Very unhappy. With all the MANY wing options around here, I won’t be stopping by again.

Love it! This has become my fiancé and I’s favorite cheap, fried food, go-​to. I originally fall in love with shrimp basket, but then I tried their wings and wow! I tried wing stop, chings and bosses and while all these place were ok, JJ’s are fantastic. The meal comes with 6 bone or 8 boneless wings, fries, slaw, and 2 pieces of bread for about 6 dollars! The honey gold is the best! My fiancé also likes the catfish, hush puppies, and cheese stick.

This fetus craves Gyros. I have no idea why, it just does.
I wish it didn’t take as long to make, but it was hot and fresh and delicious and I made a mess eating it in the car but I don’t care.

Trying the Beef gyro, it was simply satisfactory. I wish they had used more sauce, though. The pita bread was okay. The beef was good, nothing to wow about. The seasoned fries were pretty good.

Very good. You have to wait a bit since they cook to order but everything is good and hot. I had the catfish and 2 wings lunch special, comes with fries, bread, and drink. You will receive plenty of hot food. The catfish had a nice crispy, golden batter on it. Service is very friendly and helpful.
