I went here for the first time when I bought a deal from Groupon. As a result, I am now addicted to painting and do it every week, so this place gets major stars from bringing me something that is now such a major part of my life.
It’s a lot of fun. the lady who runs it helps out if you need help drawing anything in and guides your through your painting. You can bring wine, the music is cool, the crowd is a mix of singles and couples, men and women, gay and straight. It’s a lot of fun.

Have you ever found yourself wishing you were as talented as Picasso? Well, even as talented as those random artsy folks who can pull out a canvas, easel and paint brush and create something masterful enough to hang on their walls? Yeah, well ARTjamN has now made that possible. Whoever came up with the idea for this place is a genius. Seriously.
ARTjamN is a lot like the «make your own pottery» place– but waaaaay cooler. Basically, you and a group of friends (or just you if you choose I won’t judge) can go on down to this little shop on Young and create a wonderful canvas masterpiece. You can choose to paint free style or the lovely folks at Art will guide you step by step– no skills needed. If you do choose to go the route of the guided paintings, they are pre-​drawn, and you can check out what they have to offer on their website. If you are so unskilled in the way of painting, like myself, they will even stop by your particular easel and walk you through step by step. What’s even more fun is you can choose your own colors on the pre-​drawn canvas options.
I had more fun here than I’ve had in a long time, and it is really inexpensive when you look at what you get. I have 2 (yes my husband was able to become a Picasso as well) amazing canvas painted artworks adorning my loft walls as we speak. Just to give you an idea, they offer different sizes (or you can request a custom size if you are looking to fill a specific space) that will run you as follows– 16×20 $ 40.00; 20×24 $ 60.00; or 24×36 $ 80.00. What you get for that dough? Unlimited paints, brushes and aprons, you can paint for an unlimited time span during the 4 hours and If you don’t finish they encourage you to come back another day and paint on the same canvas for just $ 20.00.
They have limited hours, and by the looks of their online calendar they seem to fill up pretty quickly. I have to assume their odd hours are due largely in part to the fact that they encourage and house large parties– kids birthdays and bachelorette parties included. I haven’t the time or the space to list everything they offer in the way of groups– but I urge you to go check it out on their massive site. While you are there, take a gander at their gallery. You can see that normal folks like you and me are able to recreate some awesome paintings.
