Worse than Comcast customer service.
This is what happens when one company gobbles up its competitors and transforms into a lumbering giant that doesn’t care about providing good service. They know they have us because the insurance companies dictate which pharmacy you need to use.
I imagine that Accredo charges much less than other pharmacies to manage specialty medications, so that’s how they get insurance contracts.
Truly stinky farty smelly.

At first I thought I’d just try to put this behind me entirely, but I feel like I owe other people. I don’t want anyone else to suffer the way I did if it isn’t necessary. Here is a very brief (and I mean that) oversimplified version of what Accredo did to me, specifically, the Tennessee and Orlando offices (I dealt with both of them): Quite literally, Accredo Pharmacy was two months late in sending me an injectable medication – Accredo – which is required to stop my immune system from attacking my joints (a rheumatoid arthritis medication; without this medication, I am in agonizing pain and irreparable damage is done to my joints). It is irrelevant to them, as there is no accountability, since Empire Blue Cross/​Blue Shield refused to pay for the medication unless it was ordered from Accredo Pharmacy (and Accredo has done such a poor job that Empire BC/​BS is actually going to give me a hardship override and let me go through another pharmacy, which is extremely rare). Here’s a list of the separate errors the pharmacy make resulting in the two months delay: They lost my account entirely in their database; they spelled my name wrong; they omitted letters from my insurance ID in their system; typed my address wrong and sent the medication to a building down the street, and UPS refused to redirect the medication; typed incorrect dose (think about how incredibly dangerous that is); sent me the wrong fax number three times because «the fax numbers are on this printout right next to each other, so it’s hard to read the right one»; sent me the wrong phone number for my doctor to call; and lost all my doctor’s prescriptions… four times.
Accredo, you are the most incompetent company I’ve ever come across in my life. You are so poor at your work I regret other times I’ve called anyone else incompetent. Because let’s face it, when you fail to do YOUR job, people suffer or die. That’s what you do to people all the time, every day. You forced me out of work. My job suffered because of you. My relationships, my life. You caused me miserable physical pain. My achilles tendons are still not the same. Not to mention that it caused me a lot of heartache knowing that I would not be able to count on a pharmacy to deliver me necessary medication… that really did a number on me emotionally. To any of you working for this company: Go ahead and look up my name in your system! And then stop working for this company.

This «specialty pharmacy» is a joke. I have multiple sclerosis and have to have my prescription for Gilenya refilled every month. Funny story-​when I had health first, freaking MEDICAID, no problems. When I got a full time job and insurance from my job-​Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, my doctor puts in the order, my insurance APPROVES the order and says I can call Accredo to set up the delivery, I do so, and the first person I speak to, a «Keith», who is beyond dumb, tells me the last time I had a refill was in November. I hang up with him and call again and had help from a wonderful woman whose name I unfortunately forgot but she let me know that Accredo needs prior authorization from my doctor and that is why my medicine is on hold. MY DOCTOR PUT THE ORDER IN, WHAT PRIOR AUTHORIZATION?! Mind you, I have 4 pills left, can’t go without pills, so obviously I’m freaking out. Get in contact with my doctor who gets in contact with Accredo. I think all is well and I call Accredo today to schedule the delivery and lo and behold I get Mr. Keith again. Please, Accredo, you might as well just shoot me in the spine at this point and paralyze me yourself. I get the order in and ask him what my copay will be and he tells me $ 3 with my Amerigroup insurance after I tell him I have new insurance and don’t have Amerigroup. I try to explain this to him over and over again to which he responds «oh, well it’s processing.» WHAT? So again I hang up and call again. Someone named Erica picks up and I ask her to just let me know that all the information is correct and that I will get my prescription on Friday and to let me know what the copay is. She puts me on hold FOR 20 MINUTES, after which I hung up because hi, I’m at work, can’t deal with your bs. I guess I’ll call again once I’m home tonight and hopefully get someone competent and pray that I have my medicine by Friday and that it won’t cost me $ 2700 because people are too busy doing whatever to do their jobs properly!

This is by far, the most incompetent medical provider out there, and it is truly amazing that they continue to be used by Express Scripts and Anthem Blue Cross. Simple processing of refills can take hours, weeks, and days, simply because the representatives who pick up the phone do not understand the procedures, and do nothing to follow through in resolving the problem. I actually was without medication for a few days due to their incompetence. Add to that, I tried to change my 30 day supply to a 90 day mail order, and it took weeks to get them to understand the prior authorization procedures, and the coordination needed between the insurance provider, the co-​pay assistance program, and Accredo. I actually had supervisors call me, give me absolutely incorrect information, and then another supervisor calls back with more incorrect, but different information. Each time you call, you get a new incompetent, stupid representative, who you then have to re-​explain the entire effort you made in trying to get simple medication to keep you alive. If someone can tell me who the CEO or president is, or who the higher up is that can receive a complaint, that would be great. Somebody needs to put these people out of business. Truly awful, horrible provider. Stay away.

This place is the WORST. I have no idea how this many incompetent people can work in one place and in a place responsible for dispensing medication to people who are sick. Every time I have a new medication that has to go thru Accredo’s specialty pharmacy — its a nightmare. The last medication I was on took 3 months to get to me — for no real reason. Every time I call its some sort of processing error where they screwed up and it will be another 48 hours. I wish I had another option but this place is the only specialty pharmacy I can use per my insurance. I hope they get a lawsuit for their terrible practices soon b/​c what they are doing is disgusting.

I don’t understand all the negative reviews. I’ve used Accredo off and on since January 2009 for Lupus and Pulmonary Hypertension Meds. They are without a doubt the best mail order pharmacy. I’d prefer to use my local CVS, but as far as mail orders go they are very careful, swift and have understanding customer service. I’ve used United, Cigna Speciality, Express Scripts and Medco, which don’t even compare. I wish I could get all mail order from Accredo because they are so much better, but they only do PH Meds for me. Whenever I get new insurance and they tell me they use accredo for PH it makes me breath a little easier (:

Would like to post a good review about the wonderful help I am receiving from a RXhelp person named John Owen. He has been so kind and thoughtful and is really trying to do all he can for me to get some very expensive medicine. In times of waiting, it can get worrisome but when you have a caring person helping you along the journey it makes it so much better… Thank you John Owen for being this person.

Absolute GARBAGE!!! It has been 3 months THREE MONTHS!!! That I have been trying to get my vaccines for schools and they wouldn’t send it to me. The doctors office did all that they could to help me to try to talk to them but what Dr. office has the time to «sorry we don’t have the vaccine, we don’t carry it» Wow! Wow! Wow! Frustration is killing me right now. I cannot believe a pharmacy like this would exist or even operate. I mean come on what kind of BS is this. And the people that work there, they have no idea what they are talking about. I ask for the vaccine by name and they ask me if its for High Blood Pressure. This is basic knowledge if you work for a pharmacy.
I hope they get shut down. WORSE SERVICE EVER AND ON TOP OF THAT NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!!! A bunch of ignorant uneducated indivuduals just «fulfilling» a job position with no knowledge of means to help others. I mean look at all the reviews on here. They speak for themselves. This is not what health care is suppose to be looking like.

This company and their procedures are an absolute joke. Nothing but stress. My wife has MS and takes a daily injections to (hopefully) reduce the occurrence of relapses. We have been ordering strictly thru Accredo for 3 years because our insurance dictates which specialty pharmacy we have to use. She has been trying to refill her Rx for 14 days now. She is currently out of medication and has been for 3 days because of the insane «procedures» this company has in place. Every day when she calls she has to talk to a new random person and relive the whole exasperating ordeal all over again. The script is forever «processing» with no further information. Infuriating!
They get one star because she says that 9 out 10 of the people she speaks with are pleasant. Never able to help but at least they typically aren’t rude.

Truly horrid. I have to call every 90 days and sit on an extended hold because their automated refill process does not work properly. Every time I have to provide my prescription assistance card number because they apparently are too inept to keep this on file. Then without fail, I will be billed for the medication because they failed to apply the prescription assistance. This requires another phone call, extended hold, and a delay in the receipt of my medication. It’s a perpetual loop that goes on and on. The monumental incompetence that the senior leadership team of this organization possesses in truly staggering.

Accredo speciality pharmacy is terrible. Their customer service is awful. If you call them you can expect to listen to bad music and a static ridden conversation that goes in circles.

The incompetence of this company is truly staggering. I am a healthcare professional and I work with insurance companies every day… Accredo is, hands down, the absolute WORST organization I have dealt with to date. My family uses Accredo for speciality meds and I personally have spent, and I logged it, 4+ hours in the last four business days on the phone with this company, either confirming my benefits, or confirming the script, or checking in to review the status of my meds as advised without any progress. Each day I am told the same story… script is processing, will ship out today… each day I call and I’m told that the script is being held because of some new reason. The best excuse thus far has been that my first name is spelled wrong in their system, so my script cannot be processed. Only an hour prior I was told that the script was being shipped out today! The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. It’s a circus and if you don’t constantly contact Accredo to check in, you will sit and wait without any kind of notice that there’s a problem.
I do have to say that the customer service reps are always kind. I have never had any negative experience with a nasty or unsympathetic rep, so that has really been the only way I am keeping my sanity. But I need my meds to sustain my pregnancy, and every day that goes by without my injections is another day I risk losing my son. It’s very difficult to remain composed when so much is at risk and no answers can be given. To top it off, I have paid $ 2,000.00 for this initial shipment out of my HSA and have nothing to show for it. Meanwhile, the drug maker has been amazing in calling to check on the status and has even offered to work with me on the cost for the next month’s vial. Too bad Accredo can’t get their act together to offer the same level of customer service.

It is utterly breathtaking that a company can have such abysmal customer service & reviews, yet still be in business much less be the mandated means by which my health insurance (thank you very much Anthem Blue Cross… NOT!) has dictated I must use in order to receive my medication lest I be denied their assistance in paying for it. I blame Anthem as much as I blame this piss poor excuse for a pharmacy.
It is a different story, excuse, reason, protocol at every turn. All this frustration in only 6 months time.
Death from not taking my medications seems almost more tolerable in order to avoid any further interaction with this despicable company.

This place is trying to kill my dad. You’ve read the stories and my pop’s is no different. The best part of his story is that instead of sending him the drugs he was prescribed (Neoral), they sent generics (Gengraf). Then when they wouldn’t send him the meds he needed (Neoral), he went and got a prescription for the generics (Gengraf), they said they couldn’t send it because he had to be pre-​authorized.
Go eff yourself Accredo. Hopefully one day you will have a loved one who needs meds and has to go through all the BS you put people through.

I am absolutely shocked that so many people have had nasty experiences with this company… and yet, if the customer «service» I got on the phone today was any indication, then it’s no wonder why there’s an angry mob after them. I was using BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy to order monthly doses of Humira, and BioPlus was truly wonderful and staffed with friendly, helpful people… but I was deeply saddened to learn that my employer’s new insurance was not contracted with them. My new insurance (Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield in Washington) told me I had to transfer over to Accredo. I called Accredo and got Surly Operator #1, who sounded like she was annoyed by my phone call because it was interrupting her doing her nails or something. She transferred me to Surly Operator #2, who was even worse. SO#2 spoke in a voice only a mouse could hear, so when I asked her to please speak up, she graciously upped her volume about half an octave, and upped her attitude off the charts. I explained my predicament to her, and she snapped, «WELL, we’re gonna need a new prescription from ya then.» Her tone was such that she might as well have been saying «how DARE you not know how this works, moron!» When I asked what I needed to do, she was borderline angry at my ignorance — «uh, you have your DOCTOR call us?» I could almost hear her eyeroll.
Now, I work the front desk at a busy medical clinic, so I (1) know how prescriptions work, and (2) know how to properly speak to people on the phone. SO#2 was, I can only think, someone who does not have a painful chronic disease that requires the use of a specialty pharmacy, because she had zero patience and zero compassion towards me. I was already upset to be losing BioPlus, I’m horribly sick right now, and I’m worried that I’m 3 days out from my next Humira injection with no medication on hand, and SO#2’s ‘tude sent me over the edge. I hung up with her as quickly as possible and then felt honest, legit panic that I was now stuck with this snake pit. Tears may have been shed.
Desperate, I called Premera to see if I had any other options, and I was told that I could also use the Walgreen’s Specialty Pharmacy. I called them, was instantly connected to a friendly, sweet operator, registered as a new patient, and was basically told «don’t worry, we’ve got your back.» Less than 10 minutes later, and I suddenly had some restored faith in humanity.
I then went to Accredo’s website to look for a feedback form to report my experience, and found no such option. Hmm… wonder why THAT may be? The only thing worse than a company that hires bad people and provides bad service, is one that is probably so flooded with negative feedback that the option to leave comments is completely disabled.
Thankfully, I didn’t make it far enough with these guys to actually have an order placed. My heart goes out to everyone who did and has been subsequently boned because of it. Reading the horror stories posted online, I really don’t know how this company still operates… that’s scary.
TL;DR version: STAY AWAY. FAR, FAR AWAY. Check with your insurance and, hopefully, see what other options you have.

This is the worst company I have ever worked with! I am on a specialty medication that is important not to miss any doses. However, they do not seem to care at all about this. The worst part is it is nearly impossible to get an actual person to take your phone call. On many occasions I have actually been hung up on by the automated service because I did not follow the prompts perfectly.
Most recently, I ordered a refill of a medication only to find out that the order was canceled, and not by me. I understand that sometimes there can be problems in the order process, but upon the cancellation I was not notified in any way. So now, here I am, without medication, and no way to get refill without a brand new prescription from a doctor… even though I have three refills remaining on my current prescription.
Avoid this company if at all possible!!!

THANK YOU I AM NOT ALONE! I hate this company so much! They are the WORST medical group I have ever dealt with.
Whenever I have to set up a refill there is ALWAYS a problem. I get calls from robo’s saying prescriptions are approved. When I call, they say «well we have no record of that.» I tell them «you guys literally just called like a minute ago. I can share the recording with you». They say «sorry must have been a mistake».: I also get calls that my shipment is being delayed. Lemme ask you guys something. Why would you call about a delayed shipment on the DAY its suppose to be delivered?!! EVERYTIME!!! 3 times in a row?! GAHHH! :pulls hair out:
Now, don’t even get me started on getting transferred and transferred and transferred and transferred because the first person doesn’t know/​or is unsure of the situation. Then when you finally get someone that can help you, you have to repeat yourself for the fiftymillionth time!
I am TIRED of this company. Unfortunately, this is what my work insurance covers. So I will have to deal for now. Thank you for letting me vent. For a minute there, I thought I was alone with this horrible service.

This company is awful and downright unethical. I have been trying to resolve a bill for 6 months, and despite my 7+ plus attempts over this period of time they sent me to a collections agency. Each time I speak with a representative, they provide me with different story. I had been previously using Curascript for my mail order prescriptions and they were bought out by Accredo (Express Scripts). They lost all my prior records in the transfer and now I have to prove them them, that they have been paid.
It’s impossible to speak to a manager on the phone. They have to call you back. There standard return call time is 72 business hours, which is over a week’s time. Absolutely terrible.
