They will tell you that maybe we can save you some money, it won’t be more than X dollars, we can do it faster than the book says to charge. They will charge you X dollars no matter how fast they finish. So don’t believe the hype of «maybe it will be less». It won’t be less.
Also, I went there for an AC repair. They needed a special part that took a while to get in. The temporary repair they did was fine, worked all weekend til I got back to them. The permanent repair — the extra $ 350 on top of the grand to replace the compressor? It failed about six hours later. I’m sweating in the passenger seat with no recourse until I can get to another Aamco hopefully who will honor the warranty.
I’ll update this once I get home and can see another shop.
