This location always makes me think of Dexter (as in the show about the serial killer.) It is old and run down, smells of pee and often is dirty. That said I have been a customer for some time and never had a problem. There is definitely better and more expensive. This location is 24 – 7 but at night it is pretty terrifying, poorly lit and really scary… Most recently I went to my unit (which has never had a light that works) to find the unit next to me half open and outside was — rope, bleach and latex gloves just on the ground. It is scary… but I guess worth it if you are cheap and/​or on a budget.

WORST place ever! No security even though they say there is. The storage unit was so filthy we had to clean it before. The day after the rental, we went there and there was an aweful leak. Use Public Storage in the orange building. They are a franchise and have standards to live up to.

If you think Storage Wars is bad, you apparently haven’t been to A Space Place Storage and I suggest you steer clear of this «establishment» as much as possible. Truthfully speaking, if it wasn’t for the location and their advertising a free month and free moving truck when you sign up online for a storage space, I would have never step foot in this facility let alone trust them with my belongings.
After signing up online and reserving a space with them, a rep by the name of Dave contacted me and scheduled the move in date. When asked about their online promotion regarding the free month and free moving truck, Dave assured me that I am qualified for it, as it is my first time using them for storage and the moving truck will be ready at my disposal come the day I move in my stuff. Several days passed and the free moving truck they promised would be available on my move in date is magically not available for use and the excuses they came up with is truly laughable. They don’t know where the moving truck is, said one rep over the phone, when emailed, they stated that the moving truck had a flat tire, and when I called in and was transferred many times, the person I finally spoke to said that the moving truck is simply not available although I had reserved it for a specific date and time. No other explanation. No apology, nothing. So I figured, why not give them the benefit of the doubt and wait another 3 days, surely they would have located the moving truck or had the tire fixed by then? No. THE SAME EXCUSE was given on the third day after the day I was scheduled to move in.
This time my patience wore off and so I decided to make the drive all the way to Farmingdale to see for myself why the move in truck was not available as promised. When I arrived, not one but four move in trucks were parked in front of the facility. I kept my calm and requested for one of the trucks be made available for my move in but was told I had to pay for the truck. SERIOUSLY? You couldn’t have told me that was the problem over the phone?! What kind of false advertising is that? You don’t tell me that prior to my signing a lease, you tell me that AFTERWARDS? And that’s not the worse of it!
Having paid $ 700+ with insurance for a 10×15 for three months, the free one month deal was nothing but a SCAM. When I called in, I spoke with Noreen, the manager on site regarding the advertised deal I was guaranteed. She said that there’s nothing she can do, and then transferred my call and had someone tell me the exact same thing, without an further explanation. Annoyed, I made it my absolute goal to confront them in person at their Centereach office branch and to my horror their tone of voice and attitude is complete filth! I simply went in, expecting them to offer me a valid explanation as to why I wasn’t given the free month as clearly advertised at the time I signed the lease but left baffled by the inhumane treatment I was given. Noreen, the women who raised her voice at me and verbally degraded me is the same person that this business has entrusted to manage their clientele. Not only did she verbally assaulted me, but she attempted to have one of the truck driver who looked around 250lb. physically throw me out of the office, stating that they were close and not accepting customers when in fact it was only 4pm and they usually close at 7pm as stated on the door. I was traumatized by this experience. I only thank God that my boyfriend was there to stop them from physically harming me. What kind of business treats others, let alone their customers this way? Truly deplorable.
Aside from their lack of respect for customers and their unethical advertising practices to mislead new customers, the storage space in general is worse than a dumpster. The inside of the facility smells of rotting fish and mildew. Every corner you turn, has a bucket catching the leaks coming from the ceiling. Their facility do not offer dollys to move items in, nor do what seems like their circa 1920s elevator work properly. The hallways leading to the storage units are very narrow and was filled with dust particles, causing my asthma to worsen. Another thing I need to disclose is that the people of A Space Place Storage will have complete access to your storage unit at any given time, so long as they call it an «emergency protocol». They can also place their lock over yours, at ANY GIVEN TIME.
Needless to say, I have since left the storage place and have made every effort to caution everyone I know about the type of establishment A Space Place storage really is. My experience with them have nothing been short of a nightmare, I can only hope that through my traumatic experience, may anyone looking for any reason not to do business with a Space Place Storage be given the clarity that I wished I had gotten prior to doing business with them.

Excellent service and facility with a price I couldn’t beat anywhere else. I’ve been a happy customer for a while and will continue for some time to come.
