Dave is expanding (yet again) to include an additional warehouse space. This place is still as wonderful as it was before. The only possible downsides are the height of some books that could be painful if dislodged, and not enough width for wheelchairs or big strollers.
Dave is a genius of some sort. No inventory system except his brain. You can ask him about ANY English-​language book and he will close his eyes, access the mental vault, open his eyes, and then state definitively if he has it and where it is located. He can probably do this with non-​English works as well, as there is a decent selection of books in other languages.
Lots of chairs and stools scattered about for sitting & perusing, or climbing to the top of a bookcase. Speaking of stool, there is a clean bathroom available (snicker).
Do not plan on ‘dropping in’ for one specific book (although it’ll probably be there). The atmosphere and tall shelving, the sheer enormity & quantity of books… if you can resist at least one hour here, you probably hate to read.
Cash or book trade in only. Sometimes it’s very crowded, so you may have a wait for your trade-​in books to be examined and given value.
Fans only, no A/​C. This can be uncomfortable for me at times, as the store does not open until noon.
