History

Established in 1966.

Founded in September 1966 — ASI Building Products is founded by William S. Ellis, Jr. ASI Building Products is one of the oldest and largest specialty building products distributors in the Southeast.

W.S. (Bill) Ellis was Product Manager with the Aluminum Company of America (Alcoa) for nearly 20 years. As manager of Alcoa’s Residential Building Products Division, helped develop many products still marketed by Alcoa today

1978 — Mike Patierno becomes the President and CEO of ASI Building Products; Our second branch was opened in Orlando. Five more branches were opened throughout the 1980’s.

Business Owner

Mr. Michael Patierno is ASI’s Owner and CEO. Mike began his career with ASI in 1970. He started in the warehouse, and worked his way up through the ranks to eventually sit at the helm of ASI.

Mike’s one of those hands-​on owners. He loves building products and has a genuine interest in the success of the industry as a whole.
