I have no idea what has happened, I used to order from captain jimmy’s almost every week and I was satisfied with the food ! but the last two times I have ordered I wait over an hour to receive a grease soaked sub with all the toppings I asked for missing ! its ridiculous to pay over $ 15 for a sub and drink and have to throw the whole thing out ! I will never order from here again.

This place have gotten bad since the new owner take over. Every time I called to place an order I am put on hold for a very long time, it seems as they forget they put me on hold. I work in the building next to them and I have to wait sometimes 3 hrs for my food, yes that’s right 3 hrs. Very bad service. I rather go Denny’s or Ihop for breakfast.

Wish i would have read recent reviews before ordering today. Didn’t know it was sold. They messed up our delivery order and didn’t send the tuna sub. I called and girl on the phone was rude and unapologetic. Ordered tuna sub on white hoagie with no tomatoes. Got slap of tuna salad on white sliced bread with some sort of tomato pico crap. Totally wrong. The cuban sandwich which used to be made on the plancha with you know, cuban bread, came on a white hoagie. Real shame as there is a lack of eateries in medley. Save your money and stay out of capt slimies!

Not the Captains Jimmy’s of my fond memories, they may have bought the name, but they need help. Poor performance in several areas, service crazy slow, 25 min for a burger & fries, ?! The place wasn’t that busy, but a large staff engaged in personnel conversation & not paying any attention to clients food service or needs. The Burger, one of there namesake, just bad quality bun & beef & over cooked. Fries cold, limp & soggy. $ 14 for that overpriced

I had been a Captain Jimmy’s fan going back to their old location on 82nd Ave about 22 years ago. Keith and his brother sold the place in Medley and the new owners have taken a diamond mine into the toilet. Save your time and effort, the Captain is dead.

Breaks my heart to say this, but for those of you who work in the Medley area, you should stop going to Captain Jimmy’s. The longtime owners decided it was their time to move on after many many years, and the new owners have taken apart the staff, the recipes, the quality of their food and the fast and friendly service. So so sad, that was my favorite place and they have ruined it. They better change the name because it’s not fair to ruin their great reputation. #jimmysisgone

It was OK. I had the calamari, corn chowder soup, and the mozzarella sticks. My party had some other sandwiches. Everyone was not very excited about their meal. Personally, everything I had was pretty bland. I don’t think that I will be back. The older gentleman at the register was not exactly friendly.

Keith(I believe is his name) rudest person in the world. Not going back… not worth it! Winn Dixie products are 100% better!!!

I love this place! There are very few good places to eat in this area and this restaurant never disappoints. It is simple, but always fresh!

I once wrote a review about this place and it was not so good. Things changed so my opinions changed. My 1 star went to 4 stars… It’s now back at 1 star. I haven’t ordered food from here in over a month. I decided that I would order(online) something today thinking my order wouldn’t be wrong and no one would mess it up. I was wrong. Extremely wrong. There’s a comment box that you can write anything extra you might need or special directions, etc. It’s pointless. I might as well have just called and asked them to send me anything they wanted and just take my money so that way I wouldn’t be disaapointed for getting something I didn’t want and having to pay for it. I know this place gets extremely busy during lunch and that’s great but what’s the point of having a place of business if you can’t satisfy the customer? I can’t speak for my co-workers but today is the last time I will ever order food for myself from this place ever again. This place was one of my favorite places to order from and it is now a place I want nothing to do with.

Captain Jimmy’s is the perfect little diner for a quick bite to eat. Lots of great salads, subs, burgers, and wraps. I normally eat here for lunch. They’re always busy but nonetheless the service and food are good.

No worst but not the best. I think the problem they have is that ingredients for salad are not fresh.

Stumbled upon Captain Jimmy’s during traffic delay, best steak sandwiches, burgers. Great service. Fries were outstanding. Would definitely be regulars if we lived in the area.

I ordered a grilled steak Caesar salad for $ 9.79. Holy cow! This is a steal and for the record, it is not a «grilled steak Caesar» it is a giant(10oz), very tender, super delicious, perfectly seasoned and cooked churrasco with a side of yummy Caesar salad. This is one of the best churrascos I have ever had. It was perfectly medium rare and didn’t even require even the slightest sprinkle of salt. I have been craving this«salad» ever since I had it last week. Unfortunately, Capt Jimmy’s isn’t open on the weekends so I will have to make a special trip during the week to have this fab«salad» again.

This place is great especially because there are no other good restaurants in the area– with all the commerce parks you would think someone would open up a great place there but this place does the job everytime anyway. Great portions Great sandwiches Decent Salads Good Salads Fries are awesome Fish is fresh Go there or eat at Subway or that weird buffet at the gas station up the road or the Dennys that has bugs crawling around it… your choice.

The office I work out of is in a super commercial area, dunked away between Hialeah and Medley… I hate that there is a Quizno’s, a Burger King, and some random Spanish food trucks… 15 minute drive takes you to Miami Lakes, with some nice food spots, but that is not an option. Capt Jimmy’s is the way to go… They have everyone in mind. I usually get the«healthy lunch» which is a grilled chicken breast served with mushrooms and onions,(hold the cheese please)… It’s like $ 6.75! They deliver… Sometimes if we need a meeting outside the building we’ll sit down there and it’s super New Yorkish… No décor, simple old school with the bar and stools,(love that look… makes me think of my grandparents stories of when they would get egg cream soda’s but that’s a whole other review, if anyone comes across a 40’s 50’s diner — PLEASE let me know) and the food is simple… They don’t pretend to be something they are not. What you see is what you get. And what you get is just fine.

Thank goodness for Captain Jimmy’s. I am working out of Medley for the next 9 months. I didn’t know where Medley was prior to my stint here and now I know why. As far as I can tell, Medley is an industrial center with nothing to offer except rocks from the quarry. With one glowing exception, Captain Jimmy’s. Christian is 100% correct, this could be a knock off of Dumb and Dumber diner minus the windows. This place gets packed everyday at noon. Lunchtime deliveries can take over an hour. There are a lot of offices in this area and next to zero lunch choices besides some fast food and unhealthy Latin options, so it is no surprise Jimmy’s gets so packed. The food is delicious and they are able to serve tons of people every day thanks to a large and efficient staff. Favorites of mine include the Mahi Cesar or the Mahi wrap, Chicken stir-fry wrap, and any of the subs. The special of the day is always a great deal since it comes with chips and a fountain soda. And of course you can feel good spending your money here since it is a locally owned business. I highly recommend Jimmy’s if you have the misfortune of finding yourself here in Medley.
