We go to this restaurant every year for a gathering with my sisters and nieces. We had another great time last night. The meal was great. We all enjoyed a wonderful meal as well as a great atmosphere.

There was a bit if a wait but we were able to sit at the bar and wait. The rolls were the best thing we had, but all the food we ordered was decent. Very inexpensive and the wait staff was attentive.

Love The Old Plantation. Everyone enjoyed the dish they ordered. I had the crispy chicken salad added white onion with a side of ranch and a side of buffalo wing sauce. Outstanding. Our server Lorri, and the rest of the staff were on point! Thanks OPT!

We had our Valentine’s Day dinner date at the old plantation. We absolutely loved it. The food and the service were excellent. Even on a very busy night they were great.

I was hiking in the Wichita Mountains(big hills really, but still really cool) and afterward wanted a solid, non-fast food meal. So I Unilocaled(is that a verb?) the area and chose the highest rated restaurant in the area… and couldn’t find it! Damn. The crowd in my car was getting pretty hungry/grumpy, and was in no mood for my shenanigans. Just then, I spotted The Old Plantation Restaurant. Thinking fast, I swiftly and cunningly maneuvered my car into the spacious, adjacent unpaved lot. Entering the joint, I found it very big and old and oozing with character, sporting wood floors, visible ductwork, and beaucoup booths. We were seated immediately by our friendly, small-town hostess. The crowd was very biker, blue collar and local, as you’d expect. The waitress was a very sweet septuagenarian, who, despite her age, gave us great service.(I gotta be honest, though. I think I spotted what maybe was a bunch of fungus on one of her thumbnails. I raised the issue to our table, but the verdict was inconclusive. We all then tried not to think about it.) The food portions were as ginormous as the place itself. I was nearly in awe that they assumed one average-sized human would eat that much in one sitting. The two monster slabs of pork chops I got had a really good flavor but were pretty tough. Not shoe leather tough, but nearly-make-your-jaw-sore tough. The sides were adequate and equally voluminous, and the table was treated with a big ol’ basket full o’ warm rolls. In sum, I was hoping for decent, and that’s what I got. The rest of the table concurred: not amazing, but it could have been much worse. I would eat here again when I return to Medicine Park, but I will still look for that damn other place first…

Called yesterday at 6 p.m. to verify hours, arrived at the old plantation at 7:38 p.m. to a locked door. Knocked and gentleman answered, and said yea we weren’t busy so closed early. If this was a possibility, the lady on the phone should have warned me! Thanks for wasting our time, and don’t expect me back again.

The Old Plantation Restaurant is a great place to eat with quality food and great service! The wait for food was a little long due to a Thanksgiving lunch rush but not unbearable. We had 6 of us including two young children and our waitress, Dena, did an excellent job taking care of us. We would definitely eat here again!

I LOVETHEIRDINNERROLLL!!! Their rolllll is the best dish there!!! Well, their steak is awesome. their chicken is good. their burger is good. Their appetizer is good. Some of their main entrée is bad, thou. Seriously, I love their rolls. I wonder how they make them so soft and delicious! I had their steaks twice, both of them were good, one of them was too salty to me, but whenever I go out to eat, I always have this issue. So second time, I asked them to not season, and it was awesome for me. They are overall kind, location is too far from where I live, but not that far. I would go back whenver I wanna eat some roll and steaks!

I really wanted to like this place. It was just OK. I noticed a lot of families so maybe it’s a nice place for locals. Nothing about it makes me want to go back the next time I’m in town. One of the people I was with had to have their steak sent back because he asked for medium and it was more well done than mine – which was medium well.

Had high expectations for this place based on the OK tourism guide. Basically it was the only restaurant in town so clientele is guaranteed. I had a pretty basic quesadilla with questionable salsa that seemed old as hell and my husband had a basic cheeseburger. The blackberry cobbler was so sweet and the ice cream was melted. When seated table was soaking wet and we had to ask for a napkin to wipe it down. The saving grace is this place has air conditioning and is open on a Sunday.

We stayed in Medicine Park for three days and we stopped in here every day(sometimes twice a day). The main reason for that being that: THISISTHEONLYPLACEINTHEENTIRETOWNWHEREYOUCANGETLIQUOR! Did you hear me? Don’t say I didn’t tell you so. Anyway, the drinks were all very good and surprisingly crafty for such a small place. All of the drinks(and even the shots!) are served in mason jars which was really fun. The staff were all very accommodating; we sat at the bar with Wayne each time and he really helped enhance our experience and give us good ideas for things to do around and outside of town. Oh and get the cheese fries.

Although it has a great look about it and is in a perfect location, the service is really off… Started with drinks at the bar and the bartender physically left the bar to take a call and didn’t come back for about 20 min, meanwhile myself and 10 of my partners stood around damn near throwing money at anyone that would get us a beer. Moved to the main dining area and ordered a steak medium… got it well done on the edges and med in the middle. The restaurant is in a great locale with a wonderful little town around it… You’d think they’d figure it out…

Neat place if you want some drinks or BBQ/fish food. Their loaded sweet potato fries are delicious. They have lots of room inside and are very nice. Located in the center of Historic Wichita it’s a good spot to eat for the whole family.

I wanted to like the Plantation, I truly wanted to get a good burger and cocktail on the creek but, not here! The bar was pretty well stocked and with the open and rustic area it’s an awesome setting right off the creek. Burger was cold and seriously under cooked with a musty smelling bun that was about one day away from turning green. I won’t be back, sorry y’all I’ll keep looking.

Do not go here! If I could hand out a zero for this place I would. I had spent a glorious Tuesday hiking Mt. Scott and the wildlife refuge and decided to end my trip in medicine park with good food. I didn’t get a very good ending. This place seemed to be the only thing open on a Tuesday late afternoon so I went in. I stood there for about 5 minutes until the hostess came by and asked how many. I replied«just me,» and she paused before just walking away so I followed her to a booth. There were a few families there but the place is very spaced out and so it looks bare. The bar area is just sad. I was seated and handed a menu that smelled like it had been thrown in a dirty lake and it had a black stain on half of it, and no silverware. The waitress finally made it over(I guess they were jam packed) about 10 minutes later to ask what I wanted to drink. I just got water. Another 10 minutes go by before my water arrives in the grossest looking plastic cup I’ve ever seen. It had chips all around the side and it was so dingy my water looked like milk. I asked her for another minute. The menu is small and almost everything was $ 11. Even the house salad. Weird. I was going to go ahead and get the burger(you guessed it, $ 11) but I just sat there. No waitress. There plenty of them running around and the owner(I’m guessing) was walking around folding napkins and busy work. So I got up and left. As I was leaving a waiter stopped me and asked if my order had been taken. «No, that’s why I’m leaving.» He offered to take it for me but I said no thank you and promptly left Medicine Park to find food back in good old OKC. I was shocked. This town has such character. This restaurant did not.

This is the place that local Lawton’ers recommend for that home style cooking and they are right. The restaurant is located in an area called Medicine Park, probably one of my favorite things about Lawton. It’s a little pocket of quite goodness. The Old Plantation is the biggest thing there and I guess with the most history having opened in 1910(taking my husband’s word on this since he was the one reading their story). The food was huge, and left you with that«yikes, I feel guilty, wait not really» feeling. My husband had the fried chicken and I had the fried steak, with mash potatoes. Clearly we didn’t have a care in the world that night. Meals come with a massive salad so pace yourself! But what made me fall in love with the place was our waitress Connie. OMG I totally fell in love with her. Such kindness and warmth. This is the type of hospitality we out in California hear about. PS For the ladies, not sure why but they have a little jewelry section by the cashier. Conveniently, I skipped the dessert and bought myself a bracelet. ;)

We were staying at the Plantation hotel(owned by the same folks) for a few days and dined here more most of our meals. Good home style cooking, served hot and fast by a friendly staff!

One of the oddities of military life is the«Hail and Farewell» dinner. This is when you and your new or old coworkers get together with your families to size one another up, greet new people, and say goodbye to old people. The same idea plays out at offices of all types, but the military has a constant rotation of people coming and going from a unit, and so there is a certain routine to these events. It was in this capacity that I was first introduced to the Old Plantation Restaurant, and I am happy to say that the service they provided for the 40 or so people who arrived in our group that night was well paced and pleasant. We had only one waitress, but with the help of a few runners she managed to get all of our food in front of us at roughly the same time. She even managed to remember the adjustments I asked for(no dressing, a plain burger instead of a bacon cheeseburger) and refilled my water glass. As for the food, well, I’m hoping that the three stars will rise when we return and sample more of the menu. Our limited menu choices were simple pub grub, easy to plate and set out for a crowd. Nearly everyone ordered a burger and fries, and I was sorry to not be one of them. I ordered the country fried steak with a side of green beans. The beans were overcooked and loaded with salt, and while the 5 oz. steak was perfectly cooked, it sat too heavy in my stomach over night, and through the next day. My son’s burger, which looked to be larger than my steak, caused him no problems as he digested. My table mates tried the brisket sandwich(straight cut thick slices on a bun) and the grilled chicken(lightly grilled with lemon, served over rice pilaf with a side of mashed potatoes) and were happy with their choices. The interior is little more than a wide open space with a bar and a hostess stand, but there are plenty of windows and room to move about. I will say that the restaurant has the well worn(some might say grimy) look of a 100 year old building in a lakeside town in southwestern Oklahoma, but it fits with the charm of its surroundings. I look forward to returning to this casual restaurant. The full menu looks like it has quite a few options, though it is primarily a steakhouse. I’ll probably return during the day so that I have time to take in the view as I digest.
