I have only lived in the greater Media area(if there is such a thing) and have been to Bevan’s a few times and have not been disappointed. GREAT service, gift wrapping, and better than the grocery store quality candy. It is made fresh and very tasty. I was in and out for Valentines Day with a line of folks ahead of me with gift wrapping in a matter of minutes.

Bevans has been making candy for 50 years. But that is not what makes them great. Everything they do is quality. EVERYTHING. It is easy to order your favorite– but this is a place to branch out and try new things. If you do– you can easily end up with new favorites. Everything melts in your mouth.

Love this place. Everything is wonderful, but their chocolate covered pretzels are the best I ever had. Just wish they would ship and/or do online ordering, at least seasonally. I grew up in Media but have moved away and can only get their candy when I’m home(i.e. not often enough).

I grew up in Media, and Bevan’s has been around forever. My mother made sure special Bevan’s chocolate bunnies and custom eggs were in our Easter basket every year. The dark chocolate is on par with European darks I have known and loved. Silky smooth and delicious. My husband, who grew up in the CT burbs, was deprived of Bevan’s. I bought him his first chocolate bunny this year, and every time he comes home from work, he disappears into the kitchen, and reappears with chocolate at the corners of his lips. Coconut cream is EXCELLENT! LOVEIT! Service was great, and the one blonde woman who I had(twice in the same week b/c I had to go back for more) was really sweet and helpful. It should be noted that Bevan’s is CASHORCHECKONLY, which I don’t think others have mentioned, and is kind of a stand-out these days, so arrive prepared. Well worth the money! Fabulous chocolate and candies! — — — — — — — — — — — As of today, Unilocal does not have this store’s hours posted. It would be very helpful if Unilocal or Bevan’s could update that info. I had to click on the company website, and then onto their Facebook page before I found any hours. They are as follow: Mon — Sun: 10:00 am — 6:00 pm

The selection in the store is good especially considering the small size of the showroom. I have tried only a few of my purchases, and found them to be better than average. The dark chocolate is a bit bitter and not as smooth as some of the higher end chocolates that I have had, but you can certainly do worse. I purchased a number of interesting items for my children for easter, chocolate dipped pretzel bunnies, chocolate covered coffee beans etc. They have yet to try them so the jury is still out on those. What one should be aware of the the extremely rude service that you will encounter. The store has been at its current location for more than 50 years, so I suspect that most of their customers are well known to them. If you are a new customer it seems that they do not really want your business. I was purchasing over 10 items, and they do not provide any carrying baskets etc. I initially tried to hold all of them, and despite looking right at me none of the three employees offered to help me. I eventually placed the items on the counter to better allow me to shop and was given a dirty look. When I had finished shopping I stood in front of my items for almost a minute without any service. The employee was not occupied at the time and even once stared right at me without saying anything. Only when I asked to check out did she start ringing my items up. She promptly dropped one of my items on the floor, and broke it. Rather than saying she was sorry she just continued ringing up the other items, When I went to pick up the broken item and put it aside she curtly said«just give it to me». When everything was finally tallied, I pulled out my credit card and was informed that they did not take credit cards. Rather than waiting for me to get some cash she literally walked away from me. I am not sure if she thought that someone like me did not carry that much cash or what, but her actions were completely dumbfounding. So if you are looking for homemade chocolates in Media, they are your only real option. The samples and the selection are pretty good, just be prepared for rude service.

The service was great but we happened to come just before the shop was going to close for a week-long vacation, so the shelves were nearly empty — which is actually a good sign that they make everything fresh. My 9 year old bought a $ 2.00 White Chocolate(confection) Golf Ball-shaped lollipop and she enjoyed it. Can’t wait to come back at Easter or Christmas and see everything they make. Limited hours — so be aware of that.

This place has been a staple in Media for decades. And for good reason. Entirely homemade chocolates and candies. Comprising half a block on Edgmont street It’s family owned and operated with pride. Mobbed around major holidays so stop in well before. Also, walk to the back of the building outside and you can sometimes see the candy making in progress. Easter is coming so I’m ordering all my favorites for family and friends.

Awesome local business with awesome local candies. Having grown up in Springfield, I can credit Bevan’s for introducing me to and subsequently addicting me to chocolate covered pretzels — of which theirs are the my absolute favorite. For as long as I can remember, my father would bring home boxes of their pretzels on major holidays. Now I’m 23 and I still get as excited for a box of Bevan’s as I did years ago. Keep it up!

The candy is good. The people who work here are not pleasant. When you walk in, they act as though you’re inconveniencing them. One woman in particular is downright miserable. For a small business in an unstable economy, you would think they could be somewhat pleasant. Therefore, it’s not worth the money. Parking is horrible. Go up the road a bit to Trader Joe’s. You can’t beat their prices, and the candy is DELICIOUS.

America’s first Fair Trade Town gets another wonderful addition. Media’s Bevan’s Own Make Candies are awesome. Fresh, moist, beautiful. Appetizing. The store, taking almost a half a block between State Street and Baltimore Pike in Media, specializes in hand-made candies and chocolate. And their menus and offerings change with the calendar. This time, the owner had me taste some succulent Irish Potatoes, coconut filled with a rough chocolate outside. Grrrrr they were good. And as well, they have a collection of Marzipan delicacies. If you want to feel like Royalty, enter the store.
