Apollo’s pizza is not like every other pizza spot in Media. Their pizza consistently tastes great. I hope they never change the ingredients they use to make their pizza taste the way it tastes. My family and friends in the area changed to Apollo as their take-out pizza place once they tasted it. It also is great that for a large plain pizza the cost is $ 11.40… When compared to Pinnochios or Little Anthony’s, you save a few bucks. Apollo’s buffalo wings are amazing. I am not the biggest fan of wings, because most the places I’ve eaten them at, the wings had a soggy texture or the sauce was not to my liking. My friends love Apollo’s wings too, so it’s not just me. Their gyro’s are very good. I don’t think their is any place in Media where you can take-out/delivery pizza and gyros. Sometimes it does take longer than other places for your food to be ready. I think the wait is worth it… And 95% of the time they have given me the accurate time of how long until my order will be ready. Once or twice it was just an extra 5 minute wait, which wasn’t a big deal to me on a Friday night when I wasn’t rushing around to do things. It’s take-out or delivery only, which is fine with me because I would prefer to eat pizza and wings while watching a movie or spending time with a bunch of friends. A few months ago their was a person working at the counter who wasn’t the friendliest. I haven’t seen her there for a while And the staff seems friendly now. To summarize my 15 years of getting take-out food from Apollo, is that their pizza has stayed the same. I haven’t eaten anything from Apollo I have not liked. Once in a while they get a little busy and may take a little longer to fill an order. My family and friends in the area changed to getting take-out or delivery from Apollo because their pizza is that good.

Me and my coworkers love Apollo. The delivery driver is a real treat. I had the chicken parm this time and hot damn it was wonderful.

This is probably still the best pizza I’ve had in my life(I don’t live in the area any more but when I’m visiting it’s not uncommon for me to place an order for pick up before doing anything else!) Amazing, small place with a big taste. Defiantly get a small pizza, something about the larger pies looses the excellence of the crust(I can’t explain it,) but I would go with multiple small pizzas as opposed to one big. They have a perfect amount of sauce and are kind people. Drop in anytime you want some of the best in the Philly area! Cheesesteaks are also solid, not the best, but completely solid

So I was sitting at John’s Bar around the corner right after I moved to Media and I asked the bar where the place to get pizza in Media was and they said Apollo’s. I tried it and agree! I have had the cheese pizza, buffalo chicken pizza and barbecue chicken pizza and they have all been great! My one complaint is that the chicken pizzas are considered gourmet and the upcharge on them is a little more than I would normally expect. Other than that I think it’s some pretty great pizza.

It used to be the place to go. I just ordered 2 pizzas that were soggy. I was the only one in the store and I can see why. It is really a shame, I used to love these pizzas.

Their Hawaiian pizza and tuna sandwich is so good, I would definitely recommend anyone to come here they won’t be disappointed. unless you’re really picky.

Love their Hawaiian and cheese steak pizzas. Their Mega fries with cheese whiz, mozzarella cheese, and bacon are also really good. I’ve ordered pizza with pepperoni, onions, and mushrooms, and they really load the toppings on there. Parking is difficult.

I’m a fan of the Greek pizza here. We have been eating it forever. Plain or pepperoni pizza best. Crispy crust, tasty cheese. Can be greasy because they use real cheese. They have been doing it the same way for years — always consistently good. When we want Greek style pizza, this is where we go(ever since the original Morton Pizza closed). Pick up only. The few meter spaces out front are always taken, park on corner and run in.

These amateurs can’t compete with Wawa hoagies, let alone a real hoagie shop. Two thumbs down as far as quality. Also, thanks for delivering 8 hoagies unlabeled and 3 of them turned out to be the wrong order anyway after we finally finished playing the touch every hoagie to find out if it’s yours game.

Apollo used to be my answer whenever we were trying to decide on take-out or pizza. Sadly, they’ve really fallen down over the last year, and much of it seems to be the result of staffing or lack of supervision. Let’s start with telephone etiquette. If you call an hour before the posted closing time, there’s little chance they will actually answer the phone. This is a problem, especially when you are calling from State St. on your cell phone and can look in and see employees lingering around, blatantly ignoring the ringing phone. If you call during the day on the weekend, there is one girl in particular who chews gum loudly in your ear and seems to know nothing about the menu. She doesn’t hold the phone away from her mouth at all when she yells back questions to other staffers. It is beyond rude. But mostly, it is the food. The pizza used to be great, but now it is too greasy and undercooked most of the time. Picking up a slice of pie should not result in you holding the crust and the rest of the slice hanging straight down. They skimp on the meat content(and now quality) of the cheesesteaks. Their chicken cheesesteak is the worst. If you get a warm wrap, they put it in a plastic container with your chips and guess what the steam does to the chips? The burgers are terrible. I ordered a BLT once and the bacon was very undercooked — how do you not notice that when assembling a sandwich with three ingredients? Lastly, a pet peeve. They put on their menu«we use real whiz.» They don’t. Real whiz will get solid pretty quickly as it cools down, it has a cheddar bite to it, and it is easily identifiable to the real whiz lover. You can always tell imitation by the fact it has little taste and the texture is completely smooth. It’s one thing to use the imitation and quite another to advertise the use of real whiz and then use imitation.

They changed hands. I recently discovered the old Apollo’s of Media is now one in the same as the one in Havertown. Will not be eating here again. I made a special trip to Media from Havertown thinking I was going to the same old Apollo’s I loved while growing up in Media but this was not the case. I used to love their salads so was going there for one of them. I was so looking forward to the creamy Italian dressing they used to have. Well what a disappointment. The lunch meats are different too, not as fresh as they used to be. Yuck! Why would they not just keep the same suppliers after buying the place from the old owners so they could make the same great food? I would’ve given it one star but the girl at the counter was so nice I wanted to give her a star.

The pizza tastes a lot like Pat’s, and is very greasy and a little crunchy and pasty. I really think it’s a matter of personal opinion or I’d have reviewed them worse. Also, they seemed nice enough on the phone and the delivery time was normal.

The food is decent pending your tastes but the customer service is the worst. I ordered a stromboli for delivery. After about an hour of waiting patiently I called and asked when I should expect them and was told the driver just left. That’s not so much of a problem I get that happens from time to time, but when I got my food it was the wrong order so I called back and explained and was told they would send a new one out which also took over an hour. I was told I could get something on the house next time I ordered. I tried to get my bill cancelled but that didn’t happen and they said they’d save my number for when I called next time to give me something to compensate but that was a lie. Just bad business practice overall and ever since that incident we made Media Pizza our local pizza place until we moved.

My mom and I went to Apollo for a quick bite last Saturday. We wanted to split a tomato pie. We asked to split a small(10 inches) and the girl behind the counter asked«what’s that?» I spoke louder since I assumed she simply didn’t hear me. She asked again what it was. I told her it was a pizza without the cheese. She was dumbfounded and says«oh, how do we make that?»…She WORKS at a pizza place… really?! Being vegan,(and now afraid to challenge her mentally) I first told her what the term vegan means and said that«I am vegan.» I then asked if the sauce was vegan. I said I assumed the bread was. She said«well, we put butter in the bread.» I asked her to make sure because most pizza crust is a simple mix of flour and water. She says«well, it’s baked, not fried so they have to put butter in.» WHAT. I kid you not… I was like«Ummmm, ok, can you ask someone who knows the answer to this-and while you’re at it, please ask if the sauce is vegan ?» She came back and said the pizza dough was only flour and water. The sauce is in fact vegan. WHERE did they find this girl?! She also had the nerve to give us attitude when my mom and I gave each other wide eyed looks. This girl was beyond the point if idiocy.

A-Okay pizza in the heart of Media. Just a counter inside so you cant check out what the food looks like or see if anything else sparks your interest when you’re picking up your stuff. Good selection of toppings and fast service, even delivery. Kind of greasy but it seems like people here(Philadelphia area) like that. Thin crispy/crunchy crust. Tough to find parking so tag-team it and have one person sit in the car at the curb and one team member hop out and collect the goods.

While I prefer the Pinnochio pizza in Media, Apollo Pizza has been a long staple of mine when I require something different. They have Sicilian style pizza which I think is just phenomenal. Perfect crust, dough, and the gravy is just gooooooood. However, I feel their most under appreciated item is their wings. This is totally my go to place for good wings on the go for a sports event, or something quick to eat.

My daughter enjoys the«square pizza» slices here(She refers to Sicilian as «square pizza») but even she at the astute age of 8 commented, «It’s good — but not as good as Brooklyn». Sums it up perfectly. Smart kid. Like her Momma.

I love Greek style pizza. That is, if it is made just right. This place has been around since 1969. You have to think that they must know what they are doing. Maybe they do most nights. I may have picked the time to go yesterday when they were a bit off. Don’t get me wrong. The pizza I got was OK. But for Greek style pizza to me, it lacked a few things. Thickness was one thing it lacked. You see, if there’s one thing I know about Greek style pizza is that if something isn’t quite right about the dough in the pan, it doesn’t rise properly. I happened to get one of those non-rising pizzas on this trip. It affects the experience if it is not risen properly. Also, not enough taste of the sauce to complement the cheese and toppings. I like a decent amount of sauce, but not too much. I got something less than a decent amount. I mean, it was fine. I polished off a small pizza. But the pizza they served me won’t make me want to go out of my way to come back here.
