Our company has identified and filled the niche of performing financial services (bookkeeping, invoicing of cutomers, bill paying, payroll, budgeting, etc.) for the small, (typically) owner-​run business. We do this remotely, via web-​based financial software, remote connectivity, and/​or off-​site services.

It is our goal to help owners of small businesses to be free of the bookkeeping work without losing touch with the books. We encourage business owners to be as involved in the process as they would like to be, and to stay up to date and kept informed on the part that we are doing. That said, our goal is also that our clients become confident and comfortable in the knowledge that we are handling their books accurately and expediently, so they feel free to focus on other areas of their business.

History

Established in 2004.

«I always did my husband’s books and his friends would often comment that they wish they had a wife who could do that. Finally I decided that there was a business there, and I opened my office doors to others. I quickly discovered that this was a niche that had been waiting to be filled! 6 months later I hired my first bookkeeper, and 4 years later I moved from my home office to a ‘real’ office in downtown Medford. Now we have 9 bookkeepers in two locations (beside myself), all doing QuickBooks for small businesses. Each business has their „own“ bookkeeper, hence the name.»

People laugh when I tell them that I was an English Major in college and that I always struggled with math. Bookkeeping is more like diagramming a sentence to me – everything has a category it belongs in, and when everything is in place, it all works!

Also people who know me can’t believe I work in an office environment. Before opening «Your Bookkeeper,» I had been an English Teacher (2 years) and Horse Professional, training horses and riders for the show circuit (25 years). I did a brief stint as a journalist (6 months) and worked on the truck with my contractor husband (2 years) when we first got married.

I am the mother of three grown children (the oldest bookkeeps for me) and a grandmother of one adorable little girl. I love animals, and I usually have one of my three dogs at work with me. In my spare time I sing in the choir and do volunteer counseling at my church. Also I have an awesome garden at home
