History

Established in 1976.

Medford Optical started out in a small 90 sq.ft. office located within the old Medford Jewelers store. In 1981 we expanded to a 1,000 sq. ft. location around the corner. At that time we established a «Pediatric Eyewear Specialty» and the business grew as word of mouth spread within the medical community. Our referrals were coming from all over the area and our business became a more regionally based optical shop with customers coming from all over New England. We have become a complete Eye Care Center with state of the art Prescription Eyewear as well as comprehensive eye exams done by our Optometrist, Dr. Adele San Clemente. We feature over 1200 fashion frames and many Designers such as Gucci, Coach, Vera Wang, Silhouette, and many more.

I have been a Licensed Optican and owned Medford Optical since 1976. During my career as a business owner/​optician I have worked very closely with some of Greater Boston‘s leading Ophthalmologists. I have co-​owned several optical shops in some of Boston‘s major Hospitals and have established a reputation as being one the best opticians for customers who have demanding and complex visual needs. Many of the area‘s best eye doctors refer patients to Medford Optical for the highest quality eyewear for those tough prescriptions! I also have been nationally recognized by ²⁰⁄₂₀ Magazine as one of the country‘s leading Pediatric Opticians.
