I have ordered pears and other foods from Harry and David for years. I am very unhappy with the company and may never purchase from them again. I had ordered the Royal Rivera Pears one box, for a friend and for myself. Without contacting me for my approval, they changed the pears I had ordered to a lesser quality pear. When I emailed them about the error and told them how unhappy I was, they pretty much said Oh Well… said they were out of the better quality pear, so they shipped two boxes of the lesser quality. I do not think this is a good business practice, to just change out a persons order without asking if it is ok with you or not. Beware of what you order as you may get something totally different. Shame on them! If I could give minus stars I gladly would…

For years upon years our family has sent and received pairs from Harry & David’s. Oh boy, when you see their box ox pairs arrive on your door step, it’s pure heaven!
The quality of the pairs that have been shipped have always been top notch!
What a blessing you are to share some quality of what God has created! Sweet to the tongue and sweet to the heart to get such a sweet gift!

The mecca of tasty treats. Fabulous store and goods. Awesome beer selection and good foods for gifting. Their produce selection is small but fabulous !

Very disappointed. Ordered my mother in law and grandmothers plants on the 12^th of December to be delivered on the 24^th. One plant arrived on the 26^th while the other didn’t arrive until the 28^th. I checked the tracking and saw they had not even shipped them until Monday and Tuesday the week of Christmas. I understand shipping is slower during the holidays why doesn’t Harry & David? I have 2 stars because the plants were nice when they finally arrived.

I’ve never been to this location. When ordering online this is the location that packages are shipped out of. In the past and this Christmas 2015, I’ve placed a few orders. No complaints. The receiver was thrilled about the selections and happy with the gifts. Fruits were fresh, meats and jellies were tasty. Presentations were nice enough and better than the standard «tower» BS that most other basket companies try to sell as «unique looking» gifts.
Per my order details all shipments arrived before Christmas eve. I’m happy the recipients were happy. My orders were placed on ¹²⁄₁₈.
If you’re strapped on cash, wait till after Christmas and send a NYE gift basket. Many baskets and best sellers go on sale the day after Christmas, 50% of more.

Wow! I really wish I had read the Unilocal reviews before ordering from Harry and David. I thought they were a reputable firm, but they seem to be a scam. The customer complaints are all the same. I had placed 3 orders on 12÷16÷15, for holidays gift baskets for our staff. The orders had had free delivery, with expected arrival by Christmas. I kept checking the orders, and noticed 2 had not been shipped. (One had been shipped, and was on route.) I emailed 12÷21÷15, and called 12÷22÷15, to find out what happened to the other 2 orders. Turned out they didn’t have the items ordered (first I had heard about it), and promised to expedite replacement items, to be delivered by 12÷24÷15. I called again today, and found out two shipments are still in California, and one item is still not available (again no one informed me about these delays).
Long story longer, nothing will be delivered until sometime next week (well past Christmas). One shipment has still not shipped (for unclear reasons). I have sent multiple emails, and been on the phone with 2 different customer service people. Of course, all three orders have already appeared on my credit card. Since one order has not shipped, I asked to cancel it. It has now disappeared from my order list, but there is no credit to my card. I want to cancel the other two orders, since they will not arrive in time for Christmas, but I am not getting help with this.
I wished I had just picked up a party platter at COSTCO! It would have been much less of a hassle, and much less expensive. And been in time for Christmas!

I ordered a gift basket online for my office staff for Christmas. I paid extra to expedite shipping and per their website, it would arrive on a particular day. Well, it didn’t ship until the date it was supposed to be delivered. I used to shop their retail stores, but this is enough to ruin this relationship. Sorry.

Major fail!!!
I ordered a gift for a valued client — and paid expedited fees for delivery for a certain time before the holidays. Harry & David failed to deliver.
Instead, H&D notified me the day AFTER the missed delivery that they did not have items in stock and would deliver a substitute item the following week! The following week is not acceptable as it a few days before Christmas — when no one likely will be in the office to enjoy the gift — which was the very point. No offer to refund my expedited fee charge. No response by customer service to emails. Could not be reached by phone. This left me in really bad spot — because, by waiting to tell me about their breach so, I had no time to find alternative.
Rating should be LESS THAN ONE STAR.
Unreliable. Poor customer service. Insufficient remedy offered for the non-​performance.
Then Harry & David had the additional poor taste to spam me with email later in the day soliciting more orders

Lied about their freight and tried to charge for it when clearly stated no freight on the ad cover.

i’m reviewing orders from corporate. really disappointed. Requested deliverY for ¹²⁄₁₈ and thousdands of dollars of deliveries were made today 12/11.I had a reason for delivery the week of the 18^th. Obviously h& d delivers based on what is convientent for them. I’ve ordered thousands of dollars from h & d every year for the past many years and i’m done. NO MORE. I always felt they were WAY over priced for what they sent but it was easy. Not worth it done. I have many companies begging for my business. Goodbye Harry and David.

Good in the esoteric sense but over priced and the staff doesn’t seem to be all that knowledgeable.

The Harry and David store is like a much scaled down grocery store, that mostly specializes in Harry and David products. Obviously. They have a huge selection of unique beers, a good wine section, a pretty decent produce section, plus coolers filled with yummy desserts like cheesecake. They also have a little fudge and truffle area. Complimentary tastings of fudge plus $ 1.00 truffles, not a bad deal.
The main reason for us coming to the Harry and David store was really to go on the tour. $ 5.00 a person for an extensive hour long tour is a very good deal. Our tour driver and hostess was K. who was absolutely amazing. She was very nice, friendly and funny. When she didn’t know the answer to a question someone asked, she would make a joke about it and everyone would laugh with her.
The tour stopped at two different major locations. The first stop was at the hanger bay style factory floor, which was mostly dedicated to gift package assembly. We witnessed the ever so delicate process of the gift making and wrapping process. The fact that everything is made by hand, makes everything feel so much more personal. They tie each and every bow on the gift boxes by hand. WOW!
After touring more of the grounds, and seeing some of the orchards where their pears are grown, we stop at our second location. The candy and cookie making factory. The second we stepped off the bus we can already smell the sweetness in the air. As we stepped through the doors, the aroma become more intense and I’m sure it wasn’t just me who was salivating at this point. In this part of the factory they make one of their best known products; The Moose Munch. We were able to watch the entire process, from the popping of the popcorn, to watching the finished product being made. It was very educational and so much fun to watch. On the tour we also watched as fruit cakes, and chocolate truffles were being made. Some of the employees were very friendly to us. They smiled and waved at us, and some even showed off some of their fine work. The tour ended with each of us recieving a small box that contained a candy, and a small package of cookies.
After being on a few different factory tours, I can say with all honesty that this was the most fun. It wasn’t a very busy time of year, so for the most part the floors were quite empty. However, the tour was fun none then less. A lot of that fun has to do with K. being our tour guide. Thank you Harry and David, and thank you K.

I love this store. I wish there is a store in Los Angeles. They sell wine, fruit, veggies, frozen desserts, gift boxes, candies, gifts ideas, and snacks. They also provide samples throughout the store. It took awhile to look throughout the store. They also hand out coupons too. The staff are super nice. Plenty of parking spaces.

I ordered a box of pears for my brother-​in-​law 12÷19÷14 and was assured on the H&D website that it would definitely arrive before Christmas. A few days later, I received an email stating that the item I ordered wasn’t available, so they had substituted another box of pears of equal or greater value in order that the gift would still arrive before Christmas. OK fine. Then came a phone call from Harry & David informing me that due to a delivery snafu, the second box would not be delivered until 3or 4 days after Christmas after all. I’m not too happy, but OK, these things happen.
Then followed a series of emails and additional phone calls telling me that, for reasons which were never satisfactorily explained, the pears hadn’t been delivered at all. Great regrets were expressed, and the representative said a box of complimentary chocolates would be sent to both me and the recipient. Several days after that, TWO boxes of pears arrived at MY house! Chocolates arrived a few days later. I checked with my brother-​in-​law (it is now nearly 3 weeks since I placed the order) and he’d received nothing!
More confusing emails again stating that his order had now been shipped, then another email the next day showing the order being delivered, but with a delivery date of ¹²⁄₃₁ which of course hadn’t happened. Another box of chocolates arrives at my house on 1/​13, now nearly a month since this all began. Still absolutely NOTHING received by my in-​laws!!! Finally, I called and canceled the order, explaining to the rep that they’d been delivering items to the SENDER; she seemed clueless about this. This used to be a reliable organization; I’ve shipped fruit/​gift baskets through them many times, but never again.
Customer service seems to be little more than apologies/​lame excuses for their incompetence. They do not make good on their assurances. I talked to reps at least three different times, but despite the profuse regrets, they don’t do what they promise they will, and thus have no credibility.

I was enlightened by Harry and David through my husband’s grandparents who live in Oregon. My first experience was trying their specialty gold wrapped pears, which are bought by his grandparents and sent to the rest of the family in California every holiday season. It’s been 3 years now and to this day I have still never tasted any pear more delicious than theirs. I have yet to encounter a bad batch, and I have had my share of them. Sure, sometimes there are markings on the outside, but their taste is consistently sweet and juicy all around!
Besides the pears, I sure am a fan of their store, and every time I visit Oregon I love grabbing some jam, fudge, flavored coffee, moose munch, a dishware item, beer, wine, or what have you for either myself or someone else as a gift. There’s something for everyone, even if it’s just some produce or a snack!
Grateful for their check in options of $ 10 off if you spend $ 39 or more. We have used this on two separate visits which has brought us so much excitement. Who doesn’t love a deal?! Even if their prices are horrendously marked up to compensate for $ 10 off, it makes you feel good to get $ 10 off. Placebo effect y’all.

I love their strawberry jam! So sad that they closed their Washington State stores, so when we are in Medforrd this is one of the stops we will make– This Harry and David also has a very nice produce section, which I haven’t seen at other Harry and Davids, and they also had a decent beverage section.
In regards employees, all were very courteous and helpful. I will return to this place next time Im in Medford!

Specialty food store where you can buy Medford, OR made sugar coated popcorn, fruits, fudge, tea, etc. My bf was surprised by the big size of the store. They have chain stores and the closest one from Sacramento is in the Vacaville Outlet but not nearly as big.
It’s a neat place if you have a few moments to spare in Medford. I’ve tried the coated caramel chocolate popcorn and it was NOT my thing. It was really sweet and hard and stuck to my teeth. The lemon pepper was good though! Before we left Oregon, we bought some in-​house made fudge back for our families. The staff was really nice and let us sample practically all of them since we got like 8 different flavors. At $ 12.95/lb, it is still considerably reasonably for a souvenir. I really liked the rocky road because it wasn’t too sweet.

Every time we are passing through the area, it has become a tradition to stop at Harry and David. It is a good place to stop for a stretch break. Well, maybe not actually. My wife really just wants to check it out. One time she bought several kinds of roses and planted them in our yard. They are still looking great a few years later.
On our most recent visit, she was not so fortunate. She only bought some snacks from their clearance section. Definitely check this section for great deals on items close to expiration.
Prices for most of their products are on the high side. They provide many sampling of items which makes it very enticing to purchase.
They offer a tour of their factory about 3 times a day. Unfortunately, our timing has always been bad so we have yet to experience it.
Will continue to stop by whenever we are in the area. Just wish their prices were not so high.
