Attended a reunion here last week. Probably the 3rd time I’ve ever been to this place. The first two times didn’t seem very memorable, but I did enjoy the reunion. The food was really good, considering what I was expecting. It was buffet style. The open bar was another hit of the night. Good selection of spirits. I wish I would’ve wandered around more, we were mostly chatting with people in their one dining area. The outdoor area seems like it would be where it’s at. I do recall seeing a band play out there before and it was pretty legit. Need that fair weather though. December is a chilly month. Plan to check them out again in the summer months.

I absolutely love going here to go swimming! The pool is great and does not get over crowded. I particularly enjoy all of the air shows poolside. It is very family oriented. I will continue to go and enjoy the rest of my summer at Flying W!

Absolutely the WORSTBARFOODEVER!!! A fine place to go in the summer to sit at the tiki bar on a Sunday and listen to good music. Other than that, DONOTEATFOODATTHISBAR! Ordered two burgers medium rare — had to send back as they were the worst burgers we have ever had. No taste and a hockey puck served on a paper plate? A paper plate? Oh and they had no fries and when they went to shop rite to buy the it was 30 mins later we were served french fries which tasted like fish. Soooooo bad… do not waste your time

The Tikki Bar here is the BEST place — hands down – to pick up a drunken pilot! If you’re female – and going out for a drink on a Summer’s evening-avoid this spot! Old drunken geezers who«fly» in – and some of them don’t even need planes to «fly» home!

I usually don’t post about anything. We havea camp on German Hill and have been to Flying W restaurant many times. Unfortunately, this past Saturday was terrible. We had 7 in our party and the restaurant did not have any tables for our party(around 6p.m.) We went to the opposite side of the bar, near the jukebox, and pushed 2 tables, one of them dirty, together. About 15 minutes later, after we told someone at the bar we were there, a waitress came. I had to ask her to clean the dirty table. A long wait, once again, before and after our drinks to get our food. We finally finished at about 8:30pm. Two and one half hours to eat! I know the bar was busy, and it seems they take immediate attention to the bar. Best part, my daughter was charged $ 17.45 for her burger! What a wasted night. Not sure if we are going back soon! Need better help to tend to the tables and not just the bar.

Nice little café next to the runway. We had breakfast which was served quick and hot. A few critiques… Home fries and potatoes Obrien were fried Obrien is a combination of potatoes with peppers and onions but they were cooked separately so no flavor infusion. Peppers were raw and onions barely cooked. A good idea but bad effort. Mushrooms were canned Bangers were tasty. Eggs were fresh. They would benefit from a screen door to keep out the occasional fly We will be back but hope they step up their game a bit.

I *love* the airplane-shaped swimming pool, it even has a proper deep end, 14′ if I remember correctly. There is an outdoor bar and another one indoors, as well as an eatery, but I did not eat when I went there, as I read the menu and was less than impressed.(shoddy menu, so they lose one star) Glad I packed a lunch. The beverage selection was good, service was friendly and there are lounge chairs. I had rented a car to get there from Philadelphia and the drive was nice, this place is in a rural area, so very scenic and it reminded me of the Pocono mountains. Parking is VERY ample. I look forward to coming back.

The only restaurant where the flies are so numerous around your food that they are bound to fly into your mouth. Disgusting. Go far far away from here.

Lunch at the Runway Café is very good. I was in the area and met up with a friend who happened to be at the airport that day. The club, although always a simple sandwich to make, was very fresh, the bacon very crisp, the turkey moist and with just the right amount of mayo was very fulfilling. I am a huge fan of homemade naked iced tea, and theirs is superb and very refreshing. If you’re in the area and looking for a bite to eat that is made quickly and very fresh, this is the place to stop. The waitstaff is super nice and accommodating. The scenery is great too. There’s nothing better than watching planes takeoff and land while you eat!

Antiquated décor. Food was not very good, same with service. They were remodeling the bar area and that bartender was very friendly but we ate in the restaurant. Interesting place, but food was less than stellar. Their burger was less than bar quality and their chicken sandwich burnt. Has tons of potential and with a little remodeling could be something fantastic.

what a weird, wacky, and wonderful place!!! friends found it by accident. they want to keep it a secret. i dont blame them. $ 10 to get in. its a gorgeous pool in the shape of an airplane. a full bar outside. little planes landing and taking off. inside bar and restaurant attached to a motel. all hidden in jersey. i have never seen anything like it. i cant give it 5 stars becuse the food was kinda ok. and theres a lot of children. making it dificult to act a fool. we had lots of fun, got lots of sun and tied on an afternoon load. check it out. atleast once.

The new place is now called the Runway Café which use to be the Avignon restaurant. On this day the runway at the airport was not very active with rain and wind pelting the window. Inside we were met with a very friendly waitress named Jane who took are order in quick fashion. The menu is full of the normal breakfast delicacies including some very healthy specials such as egg whites and healthy wraps along with oatmeal and cereal. I enjoyed an egg white western with rye toast and Josh sampled the breakfast wrap which was eggs bacon and cheese on a wheat wrap. Breakfast came to $ 17.00 with juice and coffee before tip. Go on a sunny day to see more planes take off and land

I came here for a pool party centered around the plane-shaped pool and I was amazed. Late night weekend pool party featuring beach volleyball, pool toys, dj spinning dance party music, slip n slide, food, and spiked water ice. And while the party kept going into the late night, planes took off and landed on the runway next to the party which made for very cool ambiance.

Please fasten your seatbelts. We will be taking off momentarily… Oh my god — I don’t know what took me so long to check out this place. It is only a few miles from my house and while driving you almost think the long winding road will take you nowhere ANDTHEN you will see the Flying W… I was impressed. I loved the bar. I loved the food. I loved the little wraparound deck out front. I loved the band. I loved the bartenders. I loved the drinks. I loved the ambiance. I loved the atmosphere. I loved the«pocono» feel. I LOVED the guy I went with! A must check out destination to go. This place hops on weekend nights & they have so much to offer(flying lessons, catering, live bands, swimming pool in summer, hotel rooms available, good bar food & more!)
