History

Established in 2012.

El Arriero Spanish for Mule Driver was a man that worked with mules or donkeys, loading them with large amounts of goods in order to transport the goods through long, difficult trails to different small towns. The owner spent his teen years working as an «Arriero» as his father before him, until he set sights for America, where he found work in the food service industry as a cook. Ever since he has been working hard to make fantastic food and quality service at a reasonable price.

BEST Mexican restaurant in town. A must try is the Chimichangas they are amazing. Wait staff is super friendly. I would recommend this place for anyone in the mood for good Mexican food.

Very bland, poorly prepared. I was excited to try when I read that they were equally as good as El Tapatio in Phoenix, Oregon. This is way way wrong, no comparison. If you are a foodie, go the extra 4 miles to El Tapatio. But, go for the food — not the ambience!

My husband and I ate here for lunch. The waiter was very nice but when we received our lunch and I tasted the refried beans they tasted moldy. I asked my husband to taste his and when he did he said the same thing. The funny thing is my husband doesn’t usually have very good taste buds, but he said the could taste that!
We were not asked by the waitress/​waiter once about how our meal was. We pushed aside our beans and the rest of the meal tasted OK. When the waitress brought us our check I told her that the beans tasted odd — thought they might be moldy. She didn’t respond and brought our check to us immediately without any word. We payed for our meal and left. We won’t be returning here.

We came here to check out some Mexican food in OR. Being from Southern California we have some high standards. We ended up just having chips and salsa and margaritas, but the food being served looked pretty authentic and good. We just wanted a bit more a of a 30’s atmosphere, not a lively family style place. The weird thing was that even though they served real margaritas, they did not have a bar? We were kind of thrown off by that.

There are so many Mexican food joints in Southern Oregon, Rarely do you ever find one that stands out. Thats exactly what i found when i stepped into El Arreiro with my girlfriend on a totally random walk in when we were hungry and needed grub.
My girlfriend ordered a Chimichanga that was perfectly cooked with delicious filling. I had the Veggie Burrito and I am absolutely addicted to it. The veggies with the sauce they put on all of it together make for an absolute party in your mouth. This place now has moved Mazatlan Grill to the backseat and is now my favorite restaurant in town.

This was my first time to this place, and hopefully not my last. The Unilocal reviews brought me here, and I very much agree with the service and décor. The staff was very friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. I speak lastly about the food because I’m getting over a cold, and I have about 20% of my taste right now. My mom very much enjoyed the food though. As a side note, the portions are huge, so bring a big appetite. I also loved the consistently warm chips — it was a very nice touch.
I can’t go the last star just because it doesn’t have that je né sais quoi that I would expect from a mind-​blowing experience, but I really enjoyed my time here.

I don’t know why I haven’t reviewed them before. I have been coming here for probably at least 10 years. They use to just have one location but now have two. It’s my favorite restaurant for the food and the service. I’m here at least once a week. My water is always full and I always have salsa. The food is amazing and very reasonably priced. I always recommended them to everyone! They are family owned and operated and it shows in the service!

Food Excellent, Service Excellent, Cleanliness Excellent, Décor Excellent, Price Excellent. We Unilocaled this place and gave it a try. Located in a strip mall area, the windows and signs are real easy to find. We came in an two staff welcomed us and went out of their way to let me try some different salsas. Victor, our waiter took care of any needs we had. The place was clean, staff were dressed nicely. Because of the service, we ordered extra food, we wanted to try everything! The food was fresh, the salsas were tasty and the price was very reasonable. The portions are good size so you definitely get your money’s worth. We had soup, enchiladas, chile Colorado, and burritos… check our pictures. We Will definitely be back and highly recommend everyone to come try.

Had the best professional service since my husband and I came to Oregon !
The quality is fantastic! Over three different dips for chips! Been there twice in the one month since we found it:) prices are worth what your getting! Met two waiters who always serve us and are fantastic ! And the manager personally served us! We ended up buying a gallon of their famous house made horchata, took it home that day for the cold days:) even though we are down the street;) WE LOVE YOU GUYS! Always clean and beautiful art!
