One of our most popular blended coffees is the Peanut Butter Thing– it’s a frozen mocha with real peanut butter blended into it.

History

Established in 2000.

Downtown Grounds was originally opened as a drive-​through coffee stand in 2000, under the name Coffee Cabin. In 2004, we moved downtown to sit-​down store and haven’t looked back since. I (Brooke) was a longtime employee and had the opportunity to purchase and run the business myself after years of managing, and in 2009 I took over on a permanent basis. It’s been scary and exciting to own my own business, and I’m proud to carry on and add to the vision that the original owner had for Downtown Grounds.

I’ve lived in the Rogue Valley for over 20 years now, and I love it here. I love owning my own business, and I love making coffee for people and being able to brighten a grumpy person’s day. It’s what keeps me going on the days when it’s super busy or just hard– I genuinely love what I do, and I’m always looking to improve. I love to laugh, I love hearing other people laugh, I love big hair and I love kids. I am both sassy and sympathetic, so I can either give you crap or lend a listening ear, whichever the situation calls for. I love the small-​town atmosphere I’ve cultivated in my shop… I love knowing everyone’s name and becoming friends with y’all. I have a cat named Owen who I found when he was just a week and a half old, and he is now a huge oaf. I love to sing, burp and hug, and on a good day you can get a dose of all three. :)
