Friendly staff, massive iced coffees, and solid flavorful breakfast sandwiches. Perfect way to kill a hangover on Sunday morning.

Have probably been here a hundred times for breakfast or lunch. Super fresh food made to order, on the spot. The shakes are delicious too. The owner and staff are wonderful people, and the environment is extremely pleasant. Never too noisy, always comfortable, always super convenient and quick. I have had many meals, meetings, and laptop sessions(with others and by myself) here. Been here so many times that they know exactly what I want when I walk in the door — no joke!

I love Café Deia. They’re food is really good, service is nice and they have interesting combos. They have an egg sandwich with walnuts and honey that I thought sounded gross but my friend got it and I had a bite and it was amazing. I went there while doing Whole30 and they were accommodating of making me a breakfast without the bread even though they’re more of a breakfast sandwich place. Their coffee is really good. for those that like ice cream like coffee they have a lot of additional flavor syrups.

Delicious food and amazing service! The staff and owner are always friendly, kind, and patient. They have a large breakfast menu including every variety of egg sandwiches. Almost always a place to sit and reasonably priced.

I should have written this review years ago. I can finally consider myself a regular. I wanna say I come here every week sometimes even twice a week. I usually get a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant, chocolate waffles, and lemonade over ice. Everything always tastes so fresh and flavorful. The owner is so sweet and friendly. The other staff are also friendly and nice. I just love coming here. I will continue to come here and recommend it to all that I know!

Cozy little café. Not too busy on a Sunday morning at 11am. Maybe 10 people total cycled in and out during the 15 minutes i waited for my two breakfast sandwiches to go. The two women behind the counter were nice and worked hard to make sure the customers ordered came as quickly as possible. I wouldn’t write home about the food, but everything was enjoyable and prepared promptly enough. If I were in a rush to work, I’d recommend getting a drink and pre prepared food available!

This is my go-to breakfast spot if I want something basic and quick. Most likely for the proximity but the food is consistent too! I like that you can pick the sandwich fillings and get it on any type of bread including croissant, bagel, English muffin, etc. So much variety to choose from so it covers all the bases. I usually get some type of meat/cheese/egg on a toasted croissant. Plain but delicious because it’s breakfast food and breakfast is always good. I also got a banana w/peanut butter sandwich with my croissant last time to stuff my face and it was simple and tasty as well. I think that’s what they do well here. Breakfast that is simple and consistent, in a really laid back atmosphere w/no frills. They were playing a pretty good soundtrack last time I was in there but otherwise it’s relatively quiet and a good spot for casual meetings.

I liked this place a lot, it’s a breath of fresh air compared to sound bites and the hectic breakfast spots in ball square and Davis. Went around 11 am and it was quite empty. However, we ordered and sat outside and within 10 minutes had two fantastic breakfast burritos. I had the Mediterranean on wheat. It was really good. They have a lot of options… And the coffee is great. One of the better iced coffees I have had in the Somerville/Medford area. Come here if you want a low key but yummy breakfast. Reasonably priced too.

My boyfriend goes here frequently and today he grabbed me a ham egg and cheese on a bagel. It was ok, but a bit bland. I did not particularly care for the bagel it was on, it seemed very soft almost like roll. I also didn’t think there was a ton of ham and egg in it. It wasn’t skimpy but it wasn’t hearty. I’ll go in again but I’ll try something different next time.

Since we were staying in Somerville on the edge of Medford for 10 days, we asked around for restaurant recommendations for all daily meals. Café Deia was hands down the only and best morning recommendation. The menu is creative, interesting and varied regarding breakfast sandwich styles and ingredients. They also serve waffles, french toast eggs and oatmeal. Their«most famous» morning sandwich is not even on the menu. It’s egg, cheese, avacado and fresh tomato on a croissant and is pressed in a panini press. We’ve come twice and my partner has had that one both times. They told us that it is their most famous and that is ordered almost every other sandwich. Sure enough the next person that walked in ordered it without picking up the menu. I had French Toast Bacon on my first visit and it was fine. I had«Egg-cellent»(egg, cheddar, pepper jack and sausage with grilled red and yellow peppers and onions on an English muffin) on our 2nd visit and it far exceeded my expectations. Prep was good, taste was great and presentation was really nice.(Sorry no pic, I ate it before I decide to review. You’ll have to go and see) Two sandwiches, 1 coffee and all under 17 $ But… the real, authentic highlight of coming here is the amazing, generous and most welcoming greeting and ease of being from the owner and others who work here. Very refreshing and a compelling reason to come and return. There is an easy attitude about the place and the neighborhood. Tucked inside the seemingly Brazilian section of Medford, the flair and essence of that culture adds to the distinction of this culinary treasure. Go and enjoy.

I have yet to eat something here that I don’t like. I love their breakfast sandwich with eggs, avocado, and tomatoes. I also love their banana + Nutella toast. YUM!!!

We love this place, it’s close to home, the food is fresh and tasty and the ladies who work here are fabulous. The chai tea is homemade with the perfect combination of savory and sweet. Other favorites are the breakfast panini — the bread is light, crisp and yummy, and breakfast burritos — enough food for two. Don’t forget about the smoothies, made to order and incredibly refreshing. If you’re in the area definitely stop in!

Chilly sitting in here on a January morning, so are with jackets on. Tiny place, only 7 tables, and the tables too small in my opinion. Chairs wobbly and hard. One employee handling cash register, cooking, phones at first, the a second one appeared. Walk up to counter to order and get food, no table service. Coffee great and hot, food took 15 min but was nice and hot. French toast bacon very tasty, large bowl of oatmeal fresh and hot. French toast ½ order = 2 slices. Sadly all this delish food served on plastic dishes that slid all over the table as we tried to cut our food. Unisex tiny bathroom with a sign that announced even toilet paper cannot be flushed. Ew. Not sure that’s even legal. Final verdict: try it for takeout if you’re in the area. If I wanted to freeze while eating a breakfast picnic off plastic ware I can do that at my house. I wouldn’t return.

To go menus will tell you what’s in the cleverly named smoothies, breakfast sandos and frozen espresso drinks. Grab one for research. I kept it simple with a bacon, egg and sausage on English. Hearty, hot and, well, tasting of their ingredients, I couldn’t help but wonder what the hubbub was about. Service is pleasant, and the storefront is a comfortable AnyCafe, but basic breakfast sandwiches run almost $ 7(the breakfast burritos with meat hover around $ 9 – 10). From my experience, there’s little about the finished ‘wich that warrants the premium. Café Deia also features a cornucopia of coffee-based coolers, sugared-up sippables with lables like P.B. Gooey, Slated Caramel Pretzel, and a double chocolate/strawberry/espresso called Willy Wonka. Hashtag cavities, yo. It seems they serve wraps and panini for lunch, and the options had a little more appeal than the morning roster. After this take out juncture, I’d be happy to swing by again, but can’t say I’m feverishly awaiting a return visit.

An upstate NY girl loves places like Café Deia for three reasons: the at-home vibes of a small business café, the staff that is personable to you/your experience, & once you’ve been there 2x– your a regular This is my 4th time at Café Deia and this morning without boyfriend or roomie in tow, it’s all about me & my experience. First off, the staff actually GETS social cues– such as: I just walked in, I’m close to the counter because I’m inspecting the menu but I’m not ready to order juussttt yet…& boom. They’re ready when I’m ready, let’s order. The staff is not only sweet but spends the extra energy to either suggest an add on & inquire about your coffee rituals like needing room for cream & such… After ordering I spent a few minutes chatting with the barista… Like I said, they care & she could tell I had nothin but time this morning. My bacon, egg & cheese on an everything bagel was superb, just coulda been crispier crunchier bacon but there was plenty of it & really, who’s perfect? The melted American cheese & perfectly toasted everything bagel made up the difference. Great start to my Labor Day Suggestions from past experiences: the Mediterranean breakfast sandwich(croissantis messy to hold it but delic), the mocha eye opener frozen expresso drink, & the tomato & spinach breakfast burrito(to split with someone)

Amazing customer service! Christine was very nice and helpful for my first time in the café. Free WiFi(only Monday thru Friday now due to increase volume) and a couple of seats outside. I got the Doomed Hazel frozen espresso and boy is it delicious!($ 5.65 for 24oz) and breakfast eggs, bacon, avocado, cheese.($ 6.75). Yum!

Saturdays after bootcamp, martial arts class, and lifting… Brunch at Café Deia… My friends and I usually head there RIDICULOUSLY hungry! It’s always amazing that the ladies there can put together our huge order in almost no time flat. For me it’s usually a sandwich of some sort, waffles, green tea, and something else I haven’t tried(more waffles!). A nice cozy corner café. We can sit there for hours and never feel rushed or bothered at all. The review of the place gets 4 stars, but they have a Calvin & Hobbes book there that earns them an extra star for a total of 5 stars!
