Evergreen Wings & Waves Waterpark

This is a great indoor water-​park. The slides are fast and fun. This is an exceptional water park for families as the slides are appropriate for the entire family. Although there aren’t any really wild rides what is there is enough to entertain everyone. The park is clean and well laid out. The water was not over chlorinated and was heated to a very comfortable temperature. The food was what you expect at a theme park and the prices were not too terrible. We received a great deal through Groupon and will visit this park again. :)

I had an awesome time at Wings and Waves waterpark. It was a long drive, but definitely worth it. There are four super fun slides that start from a plane on the top of the building. There are inner tubes for three of the slides to make it more comfortable and fun. There are double inner tubes as well so you can ride with a friend. Unfortunately, you have to wait a while in line, but it’s worth it. There is also a nice hot tub, water playground with mini slides, a regular pool, a vortex, and a pool with waves. It is family friendly. It is a great place.
One tiny problem is that there are no towels. You must bring your own. Also, the showers were cold.

Great indoor water park for the kids. The trick is to come when it is not crowded, so sort of a crapshoot. Clean. A little pricey though. Make a day of it to make it worth while. On top of the admission it is another $ 7 for a large locker (not very large). Limited food options, especially if you have special dietary needs. The do not allow food from the outside.

Ok. We were pleasantly surprised. It was super clean. The staff friendly. Way more affordable then great wolf lodge with just as many slides. Although great wolf is closer to our home, I would drive the distance to come here. It was a good time with nice grounds. The free walk around the military jets was fun.

We have gone to Wings and Waves several times and have not been disappointed! They run an efficient system and although costly, it is a super fun adventure for the whole family. We went this morning (summer time, middle of the week) and were able to go on slide after slide with little to no wait! We will definitely be back!

My family and I had an AMAZING time at the McMinnville waterpark! I’m a big lady, bigger than is okay at most amusement parks, so the waterslides were freakin’ fantastic!
There’s an interactive museum, all day in/​out bracelets, tons of awesome staff! We took a baby with us so we asked where the baby wasn’t allowed. The answer, on the slides! They trust YOU to parent your child and decide if the hot tub, wave pool, etc is safe for them.
The food there in the café is a bit pricey, allthough the soda, which is $ 7 for one is refillable, ALL DAY. Guests are also able to picnic outside. So that’s really helpful!

It’s a lil pricey but worth it if you’re going to be here a while. The slides are the best part!

Fun is permitted. Within very strict guidelines.
The slogan under the logo is «Safety is a shared responsibility». Just let that sink in. That encapsulates their entire philosophy. DON’T SUE US. They seem to be petrified with fear to the point that at least for my wife and I they sucked the joy right out of a very cool facility with some excellent slides. Slides we got to use 5 times in a 4 hour visit due to long wait time (but short lines — read below to see why).
I’ve never seen so many rules in any facility in my life. I found myself apologizing to a couple from Arizona in front of me in line (for 20 minutes) while we stood through the safety debriefing for the 2^nd time while waiting in a line that never moved. They had decided that Oregon was either filled with sue happy lawyers or that Oregonians were too stupid to be trusted in water that was 4 feet deep and that all the rules were actually protecting us from dying. I had to assure them that this park was «a special kind of crazy».
A few of my favorite rules:
* No prolonged breath holding
* No buttons, zippers or rivets on swimwear (they would actually stop the ride and have people cut the things out of their swimwear while everybody waited). You had to do a spin in front of the «slide attendant» before getting on so they could inspect your wardrobe.
* No hanging from the ropes that are dangling in the kid area. Surprise — If you hang ropes in a kid play area, they will hang from them or climb them. That is what ropes with knots in them every few feet are for.
* You couldn’t exit or enter the water anywhere except the steps. I had to ask one of the many life guards if there was anyplace in the building where my child could jump to me in the 4 foot deep water while wearing her life jacket like she does in any normal hotel pool. He let me in on a loophole where if you threw one of the super lightweight «basketballs» (a real ball would be dangerous, as Oregonians can’t be trusted to understand how a basketball court works and would get hit in the head by a rebound) out of the pool then a child could exit the pool at the side (even though there were no stairs) and then jump back in.
There were constant whistles everywhere. The lines for one ride were super short while all the others were long. People were actually afraid to switch lines for fear of a whistle! I saw two pre-​teens yelling at their friend who dunked his face in the spa «you’re going to get whistled at!»
Long waits — besides the butchering of swimwear there was the constant delay while you waited for a rider to completely reach the bottom and exit before you can even step forward. The slides are great. They are long. They don’t let another rider even queue up while waiting so they can only send down about a rider a minute per slide. 10 people in line. 10 minute wait, then a safety speech. I heard the speech 4 times and I only rode 3 times (my wife got in 2). Once a rider came off a tube and the tube didn’t go down. The ride was stopped while an employee walked up the 4 flights from the bottom to ride down and clear the slide.
There are SO many better (and yet still safe) ways to run this park. A different owner could turn this place around in a single week. Until then, we won’t be back. it’s just too frustrating.

Fun, Fun, FUN and no worries if there is no sun, you will have FUN!!!
The entrance to the park is amazing for those of us with a love of planes and our daughter thought it great the entrance we were driving on looked like a runway:-) The Evergreen Museum is to the right and the water park to the left. There was plenty of parking and even a beautiful park like setting off to the side (shaded by trees) where we could relax and eat our picnic lunch during our lunch break.
Admission was easy and very organized and the staff very helpful. We typically have a bag of clothes and accessories where ever we go and they have lockers large enough for us; the system is electronic so no key to carry just an armband one person to wear.
The way they’ve designed the water park was both efficient for crowds (which it didn’t seem like because of the layout) but also cleverly and clearly understood by even the youngest of participants — not only are the rides named but they are also color coded so they were easy to remember which was the fun one. One caution, the color is not the actual color of the slide but on signs and stairways.
There are 4 main water slides for us bigger kids which all are accessible through 2 main stairways (again color coded); three of them require a «raft», either single or double occupancy, that the riders carry up the stairs to the rides. The fourth ride is a body slide and was the most popular and was way faster than any we had been on over the years.
Oh, before I go on — to access all 4 slides you climb stairs and enter into the body of a 747 aircraft; as you climb the stairs you can look at the details and the landing gear are down so the kids can marvel at this cool aircraft. From here you enter your slide in an orderly and controlled setting so there is little chance of multiple people going in rapid succession unsafely…
On the first ride of the body slide (named the Mach 1), a surprise all three of us found — the first three slides up to that point ended into a shallow «water trough» to slow you down however as you end the very rapid decent from the body slide you are plunged into a pool most unexpectedly. Since it is one person at a time and we all rode the rides simultaneously AND had not been in the swimming pool yet, it was a huge surprise especially since we were each expecting to end like the other rides — nope, we could not warn one another so SURPRISE :-)
The other rides are a «toilet bowl» or cyclone style (the Nose Dive), and open-​styled water slide (the Sonic Boom) and a dark tunnel style (the Tail Spin) which normally our daughter avoids but found to be her favorite!
Along with the extremely fun water slides there was the wave pool (Splash Down Harbor) that our daughter has found to always be a favorite — this particular park allows their flotation devices in the pool so it can get crowded even with a smaller number of people but this just adds to the fun if you pay attention.
And the final exciting thing for our 7 y/​o was the Vortex Pool where you enter from the swimming pool into a whirlpool like vortex spinning and spinning until you can safely escape the terror :-)
The staff were always around and helpful — and constantly at the ready for anything unsafe, such as kids who couldn’t quite swim well but the parents allowed to enter without a life jacket, the staff would politely intervene and require the child to wear the device.
Finally, being an indoor park I was worried that it could «heat up» or get extremely humid during this hot summer day but it remained an even temperature all day long, even in the stairwell to the upper water slides… Overall we had an amazing day and as you can tell I could go on… We are already planning a trip during the coming winter months :-) If you are in a close proximity to Evergreen Wings and Waves Waterpark it is WELL worth the time and energy to play for the day!

Made 7 calls to ask some questions, funny thing is still havent got a call back. That should be a sign but im usually catch that but kept trying. Ton of people great slides. if you get on! Pool area is nice for a while but the time waiting for a slide you need to bring your credit card as I dont keep that kind of cash on me anymore. I do have to say kids were having fun and isnt that the reason to come out.

Seriously amazing so happy we went. No one was there. Kids had a blast. Spent the whole day. Great day trip. Only down fall. The food. Boo! Please offer more. Maybe a hotdog with no fries. Too much deep fry.

My 5 year old son and I went here and loved it. The rides were great even though the lines were long and people got in the wrong lines on purpose to basically cut in line, so we spent time in the wave pool and the water playground and it was awesome. We have been considering to get a year pass but this place can get so busy, anyone know if there are days during the week that the lines are manageable? Is the year pass worth it?

Not bad for a park in the middle of nowhere. Caters to little kids but has four decent sizes rides. Coolest thing about it is the fact that the starting point is in the middle of an airplane. Go early to beat the crowds. We went Sunday after the fourth of July and surprisingly it was pretty quiet. Longest wait time was ten minutes. On the spendy side but takes triple A for a five dollar discount per person at the door

Honestly, this is more of a 3.5 star but if grading on a curve, it would be a 4 because there aren’t many places locally to compare this to, I guess only Clackamas Aquatic Park. So Clackamas only had 2 water slides if I recall correctly. This place had 4 big ones and a couple small ones. The small ones were actually just as good, except that they are much shorter. But so is the line, there was no line, just kids trying to go UP the water slide as you are sliding down (not so good lol). Aquaplay was near the youth slides and I liked it because buckets of water would pour on you every few minutes :)
Oh but there is a line for the other 4 big slides that’s for sure! We came on a Sunday 95 degree day so yeah, I guess it was expected. Like one reviewer pointed out, you can’t surf the net or text your friends while waiting in line, unless maybe you have a waterproof phone, but still you’re not gonna go down the slide with it! You can’t leave it out either, that’s how we lost our bag there :/​
At least towards the end of the day the line got better and better. We were there 1 – 6, they close at 6 Sundays. Of the 4 big water slides, we only rode one. Why? Well, one was closed! Too bad because that one was partially outside and partially inside, it’s part of the Boeing plane, kinda cool, I believe it was the blue «tail spin.» The other 3 were indoors. One we didn’t do, the orange «Mach» one, you lay down on your back and it goes super fast. The laying down makes it go so quick. We already thought ours was super fast, which was the yellow slide that requires tubes. Then the last one spins you in circles for a small part of the time (the green slide) so we worried we may get sicky, it also requires tubes like all of them but the laying down orange slide.
We enjoyed the hot tub and the wave pool. Though the wave pool could produce bigger waves and be slightly warmer. Overall there is more stuff to do there as it’s bigger than the Clackamas one, and I think worth the extra half hour of driving over going to Clackamas (half hr to Clack, 1 hour to Mcm). I also liked that pool next to the Jacuzzi that makes you go around in a circle and you can just float, I forget what it’s called? I don’t think Clackamas had it.
What I seek is a water park that has outdoor water slides that are open or at least clear. I like to be outside and I like to know where I’m going. Here only the yellow one we went on was open in some places, the others not at all, completely opaque. I guess I will have to go out of town for that soon. Raging Waters anyone? Perhaps Wild Waves? Great America? I’m in! Just don’t look up the best water parks around the world because then even the awesome ones in Cali will look like nothing lol.

Honestly, best water park for daily public use around these parts. Love the Great Wolf Lodge, but you have to stay to enjoy the water park. And it is expensive too. And clackamas water park does not even compare.
Keep your eyes out for the 2 for $ 50 on Groupon. That made out more manageable than $ 35 pet person.
So there are 4 major slides that come out of the airplane on top of the place. These are excellent rides. The lines can get very long, very fast. 1 ride is on your own without a tube and the rest are solo or team ride with a tube. I lived the one called Nose Dive… So fun and they are not at all scary.
There are a few other very short slides on the kiddy play area structure. Fun but super short. Lol.
No lazy river here, but there is a wave pool. Kids love that one.
There is a food café here too since you can’t bring food into the water park. And we didn’t want to bring food. The food was good… Not much for choices… Burger or chicken strips really. But easy for the day.
Another great feature to the place is the hands on learning area. That is cool. Learn about water and space. Take a break and go up stairs to play and do experiments with the staff there… All still while in your swimmy suit! Love it!
All in all, an awesome day. Kids are happy, parents are tired… Priceless!!!

We do them all, Great Wolf Lodge, Lego Land Water Park — but this is a regular favorite — try to go early to avoid lines and crowds though!

For what you get, you’re better off going to Great Wolf Lodge for a couple days. My 8 year old really wanted to come here because of the slides coming out of planes. I went down one slide and I was good — it took over an hour to get my turn. The orange slide has bumps in the seams and I kept hitting my back on the way down. Not to be rude, but if you’re a bigger person, reconsider who you go down slides with. The lifeguards made a dad and son who had been waiting for over an hour in line and who were a bit bigger, skip their turn and go back down the stairs. They were obviously humiliated and hurt. It was messed up.
The lifeguards are really attached to their whistles more than actually assisting guests. I saw numerous people struggle to get out of the pools and were just whistled at.
The food is second rate cafeteria food at best and ridiculously expensive. I suggest eating before you come or keeping food in your car to go eat.
The tidal wave pool was really packed — it seemed like a safety issue to me. The locker room is a lawsuit waiting to happen. There was literally an inch of water covering the tile floor making it very slippery. There were only a few black nonskid mats near the toilet areas. Lockers are also tiny and it cost me $ 9 to store towels and clothes for three people.
My admission bracelet came off during my one slide ride and the first person I spoke to about it so I could get another, wanted to charge me again. I refused to pay again and the manager gave me a new bracelet.
My son had fun, but said he’d live if we didn’t come again.

I find it absolutely ridiculous that these crap weasels are charging you $ 12 for a «dry pass» aka to sit in their building. $ 5 – 12 fpr a locker rental and absolute ridiculous prices to even go into this place. I write this sitting in the heavily clorinated building where i can barely hear my own thoughts due to how loud it is in here. In addition the establishment playing top 40s as high as they can. I assume one of the teenage lifeguards thought this was a good music selection. I wish I brought some ear phones or ear plugs and someone open a window so my throat didn’t burn after sitting in here for 30min.

Paid 113 dollars for 2 adults and 2 children. Fun atmosphere but the lifeguard staff that consisted of inexperienced teenagers, prompted 45 min wait times for each slide and incessant and unnecessary whistle blowing. Although our little boy struggled to swim to the surface after the orange slide, the life guard whistled at him as opposed to jumping in and helping him swim to safety.

I have to be honest, because that’s what I promised when reviewing.
After you PAY through the nose to get in, the place is large and noisy. The younger kids loved it. Us adults, well, a lot of wait time.
The café’ should be part of the admission, cuz it’s $$$$$ also and pretty ‘o-​um’. You can get a day pass so you can leave and eat out of your cooler or go to subway.
After you spend day there, you’re ready for a nap and a Crown Royal.
