I debated for a long time on whether to write a review. Please note my review only applies to the small group mat/​tower combo classes. I used to like this studio. The owner studied under Joseph Pilates’s protégé, Romana, and is very experienced. Unfortunately, this studio has declined so dramatically over the past 18 months, I switched studios. The owner has become erratic and frequently cancels classes with little advance warning. My primary complaint, though, is that she has started using students and outside teachers who are NOT certified Pilates instructors to teach her matt/​tower classes. This is irresponsible. Pilates certification is a rigorous process that includes hundreds of hours of training. It isn’t enough to attend class. I have been practicing Pilates for six years, and I would never attempt to teach a class. Pilates is all about using tiny, generally underutilized muscles in your core, back and legs. Experienced, certified instructors constantly correct and adjust students, to ensure they are performing the exercises properly. Don’t waste your money.

I’m here for a 7:30 reserved class and the instructor didn’t show up and didn’t cancel. I get cancellations from you all pretty regularly but didn’t get one for this class. Had planned a last workout before turkey.

This is a hidden gem in McLean. Beautiful space and wonderful owner who is classically trained. You will be challenged and pushed to maximize your abilities. A must try for Pilates, Tower Class, and barre.

I love this studio nestled in McLean. Offers a variety of morning, lunchtime, evening and weekend option. Instructor is awesome and keeps the classes fresh and fun. Come ready to sweat and then smile about the results you’ll receive after only a few weeks.

To say this review is overdue is an understatement. I began my fitness journey at Prawda studio about 3 years ago and have not looked back. I have since attended both mat and apparatus classes at other Pilates studios in the area and if I had to do it over again, my only wish would be to have found this little hidden gem of a studio even earlier than I did.
Those familiar with the practice will be happy to know Pilates here is taught exactly how Joseph Pilates had originally intended: following original and traditional method of Pilates. Those who aren’t yet familiar, will learn the art of ‘Contrology’ (control of the mind over the body), all while improving strength, flexibility, balance, posture, stamina, muscle tome, and overall energy. The instructor here is skillful and absolutely incredible at delivering exactly what you need and exactly how you need it. You have the flexibility of electing to participate in group mat classes or 1-​on-​1 private sessions (or some combination of both). And as an added bonus, you will find that the people who frequent this studio are as amazing as the instructor — a fun, friendly, group of individuals ready to work hard, and laugh hard while they do it.
Joseph himself described it best saying «In 10 sessions, you will feel the difference. In 20, you will see the difference. And in 30, you’ll be on your way to having a whole new body.» And I add — «but it will only take 1 session for you to fall in love with Pilates at Prawda Studio».

I have been reaping the benefits of practicing pilates at Prawda for more than 2 years. Toned muscles, awesome core strength and increased overall flexibility are the results of both mat and private lessons with the best instructor in the metro area. At 50+, I am in the best shape of my life (and hitting the golf ball further than ever!) thanks to Prawda.
