Monica is «The Catalyst» and provides her clients and her staff with Unorthodox Perspectives. She is a Board Certified Hypnotist, Reiki Master & Teacher, and an AV-8B Harrier pilot in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. She is currently working on a book about her experiences as the second female Harrier pilot in the United States Marine Corps and how it shaped her perspectives on life and the power of the mind. An engaging speaker, Monica speaks at community and corporate events on how hypnosis facilitates focus and success in every aspect of life. Monica leads by example and loves working with other hypnotists who started life in other respected fields and now dedicate themselves to inspiring people into states of success and happiness.

I always knew the statistics and but couldn’t stop thinking irrationally when faced with an upcoming flight. I was looking for help because I had a very hard time in writing. I was getting ready to start my graduate school and I was terrified. I booked my appointment and there I was. After the first session I came home and wrote in the same night, right before going to bed. That would be impossible before because I used to get so irritated and frightened that I would not be able to sleep. Susan Conrad is my therapist. She is completely amazing.

I participate in a sport that takes as much mental ability as physical skill to succeed. With the help of Ramzy at Nova Hypnosis and Wellness, I made amazing progress with a long-term and deeply ingrained confidence and anxiety issue. It had plagued me for years, and I’d sought the help of other professionals with little improvement.
Ramzy was thoughtful in his approach and super positive. Over the course of the sessions, he pushed my sub-consciousness to change how it handled the anxious situations. He reduced the impact of my negative thoughts and feelings, and replaced them with confident, positive imagery. He provided practices I could use outside of our sessions to continue to progress.
Not only do I notice the improvements during practice, but my coach does as well. These changes are here to stay! I couldn’t have made this progress without seeing Ramzy. I highly recommend Nova Hypnosis and Wellness. You will see results.

I’ve always been interested in hypnosis. I believe it really helps with anxiety and well being. I first heard about NoVa Hypnosis and Wellness when I saw a groupon for a discount session with Monica. I met her and we instantly formed a friendship. She is warm, understanding and caring. I’ve had several hypnotherapy sessions for over weight problems and anxiety issues. Between Hypnotherapy, massage, and Reiki sessions I’ve become calmer and although my weight is still an issue I have become more aware of what I’m eating and why. Every time I have an appointment with Monica I come away from her office feeling so much more relaxed. I cannot recommend NoVa Hypnosis and Therapy enough. I will definitely go back for more hypnosis and Reiki sessions. In the fall I plan on taking the Reiki workshops Monica offers.

I have been a believer in this type of therapy for years. My mother quit smoking through hypnosis. In fact, I work with and have visited A LOT of integrative medicine providers and alternative healers, so have a lot to compare to when I say that Monica and her team at NoVA Hypnosis and Wellness are the best at what they do. From stressful work to raising three young children, I sought stress relief. I visit Monica for hypnosis and Reiki to help me reduce anxiety and other negative manifestations of stress in my life. I feel GREAT after every visit, feeling 1000% better, a feeling that stayed with me for days and improved my outlook on life overall. Each visit with Monica was like a mental vacation and her skills with hypnosis and with Reiki are the best in this area. Recently, I started visiting Elzbieta Chiaia for massage therapy and she is another extremely talented healer. A massage with her is more than just a massage; she is a healer as well as a talented therapist (expert at adjusting pressure, technique, etc.) and I not only emerge feeling better – but feel like I am a better person for taking time for myself which I rarely do. I don’t think I want to get a massage anywhere else from now on. After referring dozens of friends, family (sent my 11 year old daughter to Monica for hypnosis for nail biting!) to them, including physicians, and each one of them has told me how thrilled they’ve been with that recommendation. I cannot say enough positive things about Monica and the practice at NoVA Hypnosis. From the moment I walked into the serene office space, to the first time I met Monica and felt her bright warm energy, making me feel comfortable and safe immediately. My sessions with Monica were truly amazing and supremely relaxing. She is not only professional and ensures that her patients have a good understanding of the process, but she also genuinely cares about her patients, giving guidance and tools that extend beyond the sessions, including recommendations for reading, videos, recordings, etc. Her sessions brought about a sense of peace in my life that has beeen profound and meaningful, and in many ways complement my other spiritual practices of yoga, hiking, etc. I also went to see MaryBeth for three Reiki sessions, and words can barely describe the tremendous healing power I experienced. For 10 months I have been suffering from a torn hamstring, and virtually after my first Reiki session, the pain was gone. I followed up with two more sessions to ensure the healing continued, and I will not hesitate to go back to see her again as needed. Reiki is also quite powerful and effective for emotional healing and I highly recommend both MaryBeth and Monica for these services. As a side note, scheduling and communicating with Monica was easy and she is extremely responsive. I have been recommending NoVA Hypnosis to my friends, and I look forward to a long relationship with NoVA Hynposis and Wellness in the future.

My husband and I took the 5 class hypnobirthing course with 3 other couples at various stages of pregnancy. We were in our 8^th month, which was a bit on the late side, but we still felt that the course was very beneficial for several reasons: (1) it provided a weekly forum to practice and review techniques from the Marie Mongan’s Hypnobirthing: The Breakthrough to Safer, Easier, More Comfortable Childbirth book, (2) it showed us alternatives to medicated childbirth and prepared us for the potential challenges of giving birth in the hospital setting, (3) it enabled me to feel more confident and empowered in my ability to overcome and manage pain through relaxation, visualization and breathing techniques and also helped my husband to better support me throughout the process. While we weren’t able to complete the course (I went into labor during the last course), we were able to have the natural, un-medicated birth we wanted. Thanks to Monica for her support and encouragement throughout the process!

I took my hypnobirthing class from Monica a few months before birth. The class was only 5 sessions and was extremely helpful. When it came to being in labor, I used so much of what I learned. My labor from first contraction through all stages of labor was less than 5 hours. I wasn’t silent during labor but I was very relaxed. My midwife said it was difficult to tell how far along i was because I was so relaxed. I believe in hypnobirthing and would recommend it to my friends and family. Thank you, Monica.

My husband and I did hypnobirthing classes with Monica and I cannot recommend it enough. We chose to do the personalized classes where Monica came to our house and tailored our time together to meet our needs (for example, my husband and I didn’t need such a focus on nutrition during pregnancy because of our backgrounds; we spent extra time on rebozo techniques and breathing practice).
I’m happy to say that I was able to use a lot of the techniques Monica taught us during my labor… in fact, I was laboring at home so long that by the time I arrived at the birth center, I was already at 7 cm — I was able to stay relaxed and have a fast, smooth labor and delivery (extra awesome since it was my first!).
Monica is just wonderful. She genuinely cares about her clients and exudes a warm, positive energy. Her sense of humor is also great for keeping the mood light. Her classes are a must for moms-to-be!

I completed my last session of three on this past Saturday. This was my first experience ever with Hypnosis, and I was extremely pleased with my experience. Monica has a great spirit and wonderful positive energy. She made me feel comfortable, and it seemed like we knew each other for years. Oh man.
If you’ve ever wanted to try Hypnotherapy, NoVA Hypnosis and Wellness is the place to go.
I bought a four-session, hour long package of Hypnotherapy sessions to start off with, because I had a few issues that kept coming up and causing me anxiety. I figured within four sessions, I should be able to see at least some improvement. Prior to signing up, I really didn’t know what I was going to be getting myself into, or exactly how effective Hypnotherapy would be. I have previous experience with other therapies, including regular talk therapy, which have been a waste of time and money for me. I was a tiny bit unsure about whether this would be helpful or not, but I figured it was worth a shot. And let me tell you, it was worth every penny, and more.
Monica, they Hypnotherapist, is absolutely amazing. She has a wonderfully calm presence, and makes you feel at ease immediately. She always makes sure to talk things through with you before the actual hypnosis begins, clarifying what the focus of the session will be, what type of hypnosis she’ll be conducting, and generally offering advice and guidance on whatever issues are being focused on before the actual session begins. She also makes sure to follow up on the previous session’s issues to see if progress has been made, and if further work is needed. I particularly like that, because previous therapists I’ve had have worked on one issue one session, and whether or not it was cleared, it was never brought up again in future sessions.
As I mentioned, I really had intended on just working to clear a few small blocks I had that were setting off my anxiety, but Monica managed to help me clear many serious issues, some of which were buried so deep within me, I don’t think anything but hypnosis would have dragged them out of me. While they were sometimes intense, these sessions were beautifully healing, and I couldn’t have asked for them to be any more successful than they were.
I cleared my driving anxiety, issues regarding self-worth and self-esteem, lack mentality, and a really deep emotional scar that doesn’t need to be mentioned publicly. Just know that there were tears during the session, and a huge weight was lifted after it surfaced and the healing process was allowed to begin.
Another great thing about these sessions is that they’re recorded and sent to you via DropBox, so you can listen to the hypnosis recordings again and again, to continue work on your own while you’re in between sessions, or just to have on record what you’ve worked on in the past.
Unfortunately I’ve moved to California recently, so I can’t continue to work with Monica directly, as much as I’d love to continue working with her, but I give her the highest recommendation possible, and would absolutely recommend her services to everyone and anyone who is considering Hypnotherapy. She is incredibly caring and professional, and isn’t all «woo-woo» and «crazy new-age-y,» If you’re even half considering it, definitely give it, and NoVA Hypnosis and Wellness a try. I promise you’ll be blown away by how effective this therapy is.

My husband and I just finished Monica’s HypnoBirthing class series. It was the perfect compliment to the books we have been reading and far exceeded my expectations. HypnoBirthing is a wonderful method for learning how to relax in preparation for labor and also provides the perfect forum for husband and wife to bond with a common purpose.
