Levenger

I am a Levenger devotee. I usually order online and sometimes stop in at the mini shop inside Macy;s on State St in Chicago. I was delighted to see there was a store at TC. The staff was super helpful and ordered a couple of items for me that were not in stock. It was great. I use a lot of Circa. I love being able to move notes around as needed.

I love Levenger. Their products are high quality and will last; I find the price of the items to be consistent with the quality and are not exorbitantly expensive for expensive sake.
I was first introduced to their Circa notebooks: the notepages, inserts/​tabs/​pockets move around easily to create a truly customized notebook. The quality of the paper itself is wonderful and doesn’t allow for bleed-​thru.
I have since purchased and recommend their wallet cards, business card holders (sleeves), fountain pens, circa covers, and more.
This store location is fantastic. The staff is professional and eager to help.
On your first visit they will provide you with a free Circa notebook and a discount on items purchased on that visit. You must inquire about this deal. The Circa notebook provided is a basic one with a few sheets of various types of paper so that you can get a feel for the product and know what you’d like to purchase next time.
And while they do sell $ 100+ pens, they also have Lamy fountain pens which are in the $ 30-​range.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Levenger… it’s one of those airport duty free shops that sells fancy schmancy pens and other such luxury goods for the executive class – only bigger and with wood flooring.
The store itself looks pretty impressive. If I were ever to designate a room of my future house to reading and studying, I’d probably want it to look like this place with the addition of a Holmes-​esque fireplace.
The service is great. Very attentive and knowledgeable. I walked in and walked out very soon after with my very own Bomber folio. I got it for 20% off and they threw in a bonus Circa notebook. If you were interested in their wares, I’d sign up for their e-​mail list because they’ll occasionally send you offers, like the 20% I got. :D Loving me the free stuff, especially in this economy. One time, I had called in to ask them to hold something for me and when I got there, they had trouble locating my hold so they ordered one for me from their catalog, waived the shipping fee, and apologized for the inconvenience. No harm done.
If you want to order from their catalog, customer service there is also really helpful. I called them to ask questions about their products and they really did what they could to try to answer them. One time, an order came in with an issue and they took care of it without any hassle.
There are five physical locations in Boston, Chicago, Boca Raton, and this one at Tysons. Perhaps fewer locations means their customer service needs to stay on top of things.
Then again, would you expect anything less from a place that sells $ 100+ pens?

So, I recently found out Gene Simmons and I have something common. Actually, if rumors are to be believed, we have a few things in common, but that’s not the subject of this review (nor of any future review, ever. Promise.) No, I’m talking about one simple, obsessive-​compulsive habit we share: when we’re taking notes, and mess up, we don’t merely cross out or scribble over the accidental word. Oh no. That won’t do. Instead, we draw a box around the word, and then carefully fill the box completely full. Word: gone. Black box: present.
What the hell does that have to do with anything? Patience, young grasshopper.
Do this whole black box thing on a regular notepad, and I can promise you there will be ink leakage through to the next page (if you’re doing it right). UNLESS you’re using Levenger’s fantastic 60-​pound notepads. Like me. And why, you might ask, would I skip the free pads my firm is happy to provide and instead shell out $ 7 for a 50-​sheet pad? Simple: great layout. A pre-​printed header so my secretary always puts my notes in the right place, and an enlarged left-​hand margin for action assignments, or, heck, doodling.
Or, just as a totally hypothetical example, doing an elevation schematic of a segmental retaining wall, complete with construction notes, compaction requirements (in Proctor dry density), sieve-​passing gradients, and dimensions, drawn while opposing counsel gives his closing argument to the jury because whenever I do that, I win, so it’s a good luck charm.
Hypothetically speaking.
Plus, last year, wifey got a monogrammed leather portfoilio and pen for taking to meetings and impressing coworkers. And you’re right: it DOES take a true romantic to give his wife office supplies for Christmas.
