Goodyear Auto Service Center

Ordered a set of tires and had them installed here. Also had an alignment and inspection done. We have a reliable mechanic, but the shop is not convenient to our home so we thought we’d try this Goodyear location. My issue was with a bit of misleading upsell. My husband and I were surprised upon checkout to see a charge for their «3 year alignment program,» at a higher cost compared to a one-​time alignment. When I talked to the person (I think the manager) who rang me up, he went on to try to convince me what a great value this would be and why cars need to be aligned every six months. Not the point. Overall the service was fine although it did take about an hour longer than anticipated (that happens though and I don’t hold that against them). However, not being transparent and upfront about costs… that makes me think twice about using this shop again (although hey, now I have three years of alignment)! Transferable to any vehicle! And you just might hit a curb!

We brought our van in for simple oil change. We were in a hurry and did not notice until we got home that a brand new oil filter was inside on the console. I called them about it and was told to just keep it. I am not certain the oil was changed at all. The oil change maintenance light came on a few weeks later. They also confused us with another customer with a similar name.

My only complaint is with the manager, Henry S. I used to go to this location because I had a friend who worked there and he gave me fantastic service so I gave him my business. I kept going because I had purchased 3 sets of tires there and had some work done on a previous car. Henry clearly does not like customers, and I’ve seen him treat many others the same way so it’s not just me. I get the impression that he thinks people are looking for a handout, or that they feel entitled to something like a cheaper price on something. Sometimes all we want is an answer to our question.
My wife’s complaints are with everyone she’s dealt with (today). She had to go in today to pick up a tire I had mounted after our teenage son had a blowout on a curb. Never «ma’am, may I help you» or even a «yes». She went to the counter and told them what she was looking for and still no acknowledgement. Just went looking for the tire and brought it back.
I’m old-​fashioned. I’ll spend an extra $ 25 on great service any day of the week. This place is 7 miles away and there are several places that are closer. All they want is your money. They couldn’t be less concerned with repeat business. So… Never again.

Worse than lame. I made an appointment for an oil change (not, you know, an organ transplant) and was given the start time of 10:30 and told it would be ready by 12:30. So, I went to get the car at 2 pm and it wasn’t ready! That is stupid. Then, they said it’d be ready in 45 minutes. Funny. It was still sitting in the parking lot where I left it. I took back my key and left. As Unilocal says, «Me thinks NOT.»

My AC doesn’t blow cooler air. After almost one hour, they said they recharge the refrigerant but AC still doesn’t work.
They give me 2 choices. First one is bring the car back tomorrow and leave for one day check. the second one is that pay for what they did so far and go to dealer. However, they said if the computer system is broken they can’t fix that! So I decide to go to dealer. To my surprised, they charged me $ 213 for this zero contribution! I was very angry and hoped nobody will go there!

I needed new tires so took my car to Goodyear. The customer service rep explained they did not have the tires I needed in stock. He advised I go online and order the tires from an outside vendor, have them shipped to Goodyear, then installed by Goodyear. I placed the order online then waited to hear from Goodyear that my tires were received. I never got a phone call, so I followed up and they confirmed they did now have the tires and told me I could come anytime that day to have them installed. If I had not followed up, I am not sure they would have notified me they had my tries. This in itself is mildly inconvenient and it would not have been too much of an issue except in conjunction with what happened next.
Later that day, I brought my car to the Goodyear shop and arranged for a co-​worker to follow me in her own car so she could drive me back to work while my car was worked on. Customer service at Goodyear informed me only then that they could not complete the installation today because they were too busy to do the alignment. They suggested I have the tires put on now and come back another time for the alignment. I already arranged a ride to and from the shop and did not easily have time to make a second trip another day. Had I known they could not accommodate me today, I would not have brought the car in.
I asked if they could make an exception and squeeze me in so I didn’t have to return a second time. I reminded them that no one told me this would be an issue when I was told to come in today and they responded, «well since I told you that, other people dropped their cars off». The time between when I was told to come anytime and my car would be completed and when I actually arrived was about ½ an hour.
The customer service person then double checked with someone else (who must have been a supervisor) if it was possible to squeeze me in. This new person immediately began shouting, «It’s 2:30pm! Muhmmad has to be off work at 3pm! There is no way this can be done!»
The poor planning (saying the work could be done in one day when it couldn’t), lack of attempt to fulfil promise to install today, and downright rudeness (customer service shouting like it was my fault they overpromised) all contribute to my one star review. I would never go here again nor recommend to other people.

This morning my windshield wipper flew off on the beltway at 6:00 am in the rian. I made it to Goodyear and they were not opened. They said they would help me and they fixed my wipper and got me on my way in 15 minutes, great customer service.

Made an appointment late yesterday afternoon for this afternoon for a tire they had to order for me. They promised to have it and they did. I arrived a little late but got out within the hour, which was promised. No one tried to upsale me anything so I was pleased.

I don’t exactly have any significant complaints since they did exactly what I came in for, and they did it at a reasonable price and in a reasonable amount of time. So here’s what I didn’t like:
1. They did the typical upsell. Not a hard one like I sometimes get, but a typical pick-​your-​fluid replacement that would cost around $ 130. I declined, and there was no further talk regarding this nonsense.
2. They told me that it would take up to 2.5 hours. I should be happy that they actually only took 45 minutes to replace my oil. I don’t like that they gave me a much longer estimate for what is a quick service. I suppose it may have something to do with the possibility that Police vehicles might come in and jump the service line.
3. The older track suited front desk guy wasn’t particularly well suited to the service industry. A very minor complaint, but ultimately it’s the work that counts.
This place is totally acceptable, and they have well priced oil changes if you go to their website and print the coupon. I’ll be returning again for my next oil change, and will leave my expectations at the door. One positive in case you are made to wait a while, is that they have free wifi.

WARNING: The staff and the Manager are extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and the products are overpriced. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. I was told that I would be provided specific services, but come to find out the next day that they would not to do it — even though I paid for it! Flat out, bait and switch in my opinion. With SO MANY better options available — I wouldn’t waste a second going there. It’s NOT worth it.

I gave them several chances, but I’ve always had the feeling of being ripped off. The 1^st time I went for a oil change and a state inspection, I received a phone call from them telling me that my car needed $ 1500 of repair or it wouldn’t pass the inspection, something wrong with my steering wheel. I said I wanted the car back (they thought I was not going to dare driving with an expired inspection sticker, but you bet for that price!) and went to a trusted mechanic who only charged me $ 80 total with inspection. All it needed is oil.
2^nd time, I took my own car because the oil level light was on. They charged me $ 95 for an oil change!, it was supposed to be 50 but of course they forgot to tell me that they were going to change the filter for an additional $ 45. The cherry on the cake was when they said they had to reset the oil level light with a computer and charged me
$ 99 for it. total cost: $ 200 for an oil change. I will never go there again.

I have always had great experiences with other Goodyear locations in the past. Therefore, I assumed that this experience would be the same.
I didn’t have a bad experience overall. .. they were prompt, repaired my car and were helpful when I called initially.
My problem with this location revolved around the pricing. I had called with a dead battery. I told them my make and model of the car and asked them what my estimated cost would end up being with all charges and labor included. I was quoted a price of $ 113 over the phone. Done deal, which is why I went with Goodyear as opposed to another store to have my battery replaced. When I rec’d the call that my car was ready, I asked about the price again and was told it was going to be approx. $ 125. I was okay with that, but slightly peeved with the difference in price. When all was said and done I went to pick up my car and my total ended up being $ 163.00!
I explained this to the man at the counter, letting him know that I understood that it wasn’t his fault, and he preceded to justify the price difference by telling me that «lady, there are cars out there that have WAY more expensive batteries than yours and they can go up to $ 400 per battery!» This had nothing to do with me or my car battery, nor was it any help to the fact that this location is inconsistent and not at all concerned about customer service. I paid and left, as it was obviously not worth the argument. I will never return to this location again.

Speedy and to the point. So far, I’ve only had my oil changed, but it’s been less painful than I expected two times in a row. They’re not pushy about other services or products. As part of your receipt you get a list of «suggested» services that you may want to consider in the near future with an estimated price including labor – which is nice so you start planning your budget ahead of time, rather than getting your car back with and, ‘oh yeah… and here are some other things that came up – but we took care of them… and here’s your bill” type of thing. Now if only they’d nail down the answer to «when can I get my car back?» they’ll get that 5^th star.

I bought a used car with bad rear tires, and I needed to get them replaced asap. I couldn’t find any tire shops that had my size in stock, until I called this Goodyear.
I drove by around 3:30pm and was out by 4:00pm.
The staff at this company-​owned Goodyear were extremely friendly and helpful. They gave me some good advice about things I needed to do with my car, but did not try to push me to buy additional services or items.
I enjoyed talking with people who seemed to know what they’re doing, and cared about their customers.
The store is also very large and clean.
Their prices were reasonable too.
I hope I won’t need to use their services very much, but if I need any work done, I’ll refer to these guys first.
