I have been a patient of Dr. Alan Hinkle for many years. I was referred to their office while living in VA. I now live in MD and continue to travel there even though it is a 3-​hour+ round trip. I had a mouth full of questionable fillings that he replaced with crowns. We all know the typical dental office … walk in and join several others nervously waiting for a half hour or more. the receptionist and dentist cool and distant — just doing their jobs, many with a manner making you quite uneasy. None of this at the Hinkle office. You are greeted when you walk in. There is no wait time (maybe 5 min.). Everyone is very friendly and professional. Dr. Hinkle has done excellent work on my teeth and his son, Andrew, appears to be a similar talent with the same warm, caring manner. My hygienist, Denise, is very friendly, does a great job, and offers good advice on dental care. There are also so many options: a blanket, a pillow under your knees for comfort, headphones if you want them, choice of flavors for cleaning and fluoride treatment, and a towelette when done. They even provide bottled water, coffee, cookies and then a mint to send you on your way. I am concerned about the day I am no longer able to make the long drive. I simply do not want to go anywhere else.

I have been a client of this practice for 15 years. Exceptionally friendly, professional, current with the latest technology, and very effective. They’re also diligent about getting you in and out so you can get on with your day. The headphones to listen to the music of your choice on Pandora is a nice touch, too.

My mother, sister, and I have been coming to this dentist for ten years! When I first arrived, I had been receiving care from a not-​so-​great dentist, and so had a few problems that needed to be worked out. They were kind and prompt about everything. Since then, they have been faithfully keeping me on track in a way that is friendly, firm, and encouraging. I never feel (too) embarrassed about telling them what is actually going on with my dental hygiene régime, and I always receive back great advice. It also amazes me how they can remember little facts or life events I mentioned 6 months ago. This is a wonderful group of people. I cannot recommend them enough!

I switched to the Drs. Hinkles’ office 4 years ago. Although being in my early 20’s was like being proverbially slapped in the face by adulthood, the team at Alan & Andrew Hinkle, DDS made sure that I at least had my dental health in order.
In all seriousness, I have been pleasantly greeted by the front desk staff, my dental hygienists have remembered details about me even 6 months later, and Dr. Andrew and Dr. Alan never cease to make me feel that I am in good hands. I had a series of lame tooth-​chipping incidents caused by grinding and a messed-​up bite, and they managed to fit me in on short notice in order to fix the problem. I was also advised by them to seek orthodontic treatment and felt informed every step of the way. The equipment that they use is state-​of-​the-​art and my orthodontist commented on the good quality of the x-​rays that they sent over.
If you’re not convinced yet, just know that I had dental work done (drilling, etc.) the morning after my birthday celebration and it wasn’t even that bad, thanks to Dr. Andrew and his staff.

Dr Hinkle had a calm way about him. He explained everything in a detailed manner after a very complete evaluation. He set my mind at ease during the process. The office is beautiful and very comfortable. Very different than other dental offices. Staff were kind, efficient, and knowledgable. I would definitely recommend this practice to others, especially if you have a fear of dentists or dental work.

As an employee of Hinkle Dentistry, I could choose to work anywhere but I choose to work for this amazing practice! I’ve been coming here for dental services since 2008 and I must say that Dr. Hinkle’s office is one of the most professional organizations I have ever dealt with. The service from the entire staff is fantastic, plus they make excellent use of technology which makes everything run smoother and more efficiently. Would highly recommend.

I’m back in the San Francisco area. One of the things I miss most about Washington, DC is going to this fantastic dental office. I have never been anywhere better.

I’ve gone here for 16 years and all of these dentists are FANTASTIC… really, it doesn’t get any better. Purring and Garagozloo (who opened her own office, and she is really great) have both left and now it’s Dr. Hinkle and his son, both are amazing. I trust the entire staff here. The cleanings are very thorough and the hygienists are so sweet. I really can’t say enough great things about this place. All the technology is the latest and greatest and everything is up to date.
I really believe you get what you pay for, especially when it comes to your teeth. I’ve had a filling in nearly every tooth in my mouth and they’ve done them all and have done such great work that when I went to another dentist (when i was living on the west coast) he kept praising the work I’d had done.
