Mutt Puddle

We have taken our springer spaniel to The Mutt Puddle for the past two years. Every time we go he gets a consistent cut that always looks great. The groomers are kind and appear to really like the dogs. The prices are slightly higher than other places but the quality of product is worth the extra money. I have and will continue to recommend these groomers to anyone.

In the past I have not been a fan of the grooming places due to my dogs were either scared when they were done, have an injury that I found, or the price did not match with the quality of service. I used a mobile grooming for a long time until the owner sold the business and was not the same. I ventured back out to see about brick and mortar groomers again. Prior to MIke owning this establishment I was not very impressed and stop going.
I decided to give this place a shot again hearing there was a new owner who was passionate about quality care of grooming pets. I have been rather impressed with the quality of service, the care they take in grooming my pets. They don’t seems scared or rattled as before and welcome the staff. The price might seem a bit higher than others, but the quality is what you are getting and care. You need to remember every breed is different and individuals likes are different, so that alone can be tough. They will always do what they can to accommodate last minute which is huge for me. Once you find a groomer you like stick with them and they will also do what they can to get with the same groomer if requested.
I can honestly say you wont wrong with Mutt Puddle as long as mike owns the place. I have found that if you ever have an issue he will be on top of it and do what is right for the pet/​owner.

This is my second time to this facility, and I love it. There may be someone a bit cheaper, but the quality is definitely worth it! I have 2 Yorkie mixes, and one of them does not like the groomer at all. Other facilities have told me I need to DRUG my dog to keep him calm while being groomed. Both of my dogs love this place and when I get back, they aren’t even fighting to get out. I love the service they provide and I feel safe leaving any furry baby with them.

Very clean and very friendly staff. Well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and towels if you don’t bring your own. Nice large tubs and dryers. I highly recommend this establishment.

Good service and excellent groomers. I’ll never take my dogs anywhere else but the Mutt Puddle
This was the third time I’ve had my English Setter groomed and each time it has been great. No other place has come close to being constantly great.

We love this place! It’s always easy to get our dog in and they are quick and thorough. They do an amazing job the only down side is the price $ 70 is quite steep for a small dog like ours.

We were very pleased with the grooming done on our terrier mix. Actually, it was the best cut she’s ever had. We dropped Molly off at 9:00 and picked her up an hour later. Regina did a fantastic job.
Their prices are higher than most other places.

We stopped here to wash our dogs while traveling. Very nice facilities for self service. Staff was helpful and friendly. Prices were a little higher than other such places but not out of reason.
Place is hard to find as it’s well back from the road among other buildings. If I am back in the area and the dogs need a bath I will be back

I don’t know what they did, but when my mom went to pick up my dog she said he was shaking because he was so scared/​hurt… Which he has never done before… He has also gotten ear infections several times after being groomed here, which indicates that they are NOT careful when bathing the animals. I will not be bringing Oakley back

With out a doubt there are places around Mckinney who are much cheaper then mutt puddle but none of them have came as close to the service provided by the owners here.
Four stars because it is a bit pricy but I’m satisfied with the grooming they did on my little dog today. Thanks!
And a FYI the website says they’re closed on Sundays but they are now open 12−5pm on Sunday.

Had a very positive experience here last winter when I was pet-​sitting & the long-​haired dog had a very messy accident. Our bathroom was under construction so I had no place to bath him & it was too cold for an outside bath. Worked me right in & I got the dog cleaned up post-​haste.

So, I had recently left an extremely horrid review about this place since the woman who took care of my dog was not only rude, but also did not care about my pet and his comfort level while she was doing so.
I am taking back that review because to my extreme surprise I was contacted by the owner of The Mutt Puddle, Mike, and he was just SO sweet and kind. He made sure that I was alright, checked on my little baby Kyser, and assured me that action would be taken toward the person who handled my dog so poorly.
I am giving 5 stars because he seems to really care about his customers, animals and how we both are feeling about our visit.
I will be going back there, and I am extremely pleased with the phone call that I received.
Thank you so much, and I definitely recommend this place to anyone who goes there since I am more than positive the employee that was having issues will be taken care of.

We were one of the first clients of the Mutt Puddle when they opened up several years ago. We always had a terrific experience. It was always a nice friendly atmosphere and experience for our thee dogs. Unfortunately since the new ownership took over a year and a half ago the place has gone down hill. Their prices have gone up dramatically. When you call to set an appointment and get the new cost for the service at checkout it is always a different price. They raise the base price, add services without telling you and they are rude when questioned about the difference in price from the day before when you set the appoinment. This has happened 4+ times to us. We were loyal customers that finally learned our lesson.
Check the dates on all of the good reviews… None recently!!! Save your money and aggrevation find another place to groom your pets… Stay Clear or it will ruin your day!!!

We took our dog there a week or so ago. The people are reasonably friendly, but the actual cut was not very good. Oddly, when we picked her up, the groomer wasn’t even there to discuss what was done or check with us about our satisfaction.
The whole thing just wasn’t the level of service I feel we should get for the money we paid. Not going back.
Oh, and there’s a tip jar on the front desk asking for money for the greeter in addition to the tip for the groomer. (There was a note on it indicating that the greeters need tips too.) Sorry, but no thanks. I’m only going to tip once for my dog’s haircut. To ask for it is a little bit on the tacky side.

I have taken my dog here twice, mainly because I can always get a last minute appointment (that should have been my first clue). The first time they shaved her mole off, it bled for a few hours. The second time, they cut her leg when shaving it. The grooming service is horrible. The customer service is not good, prices are too high. I will never go back.

It can be hard to get an appointment here but they do a great job on my 4 year old Bichon. The price is comparable to what PetSmart charges But you get more for your money. My dog always comes out looking better here than PetSmart.

We have seen a great decline in service and quality for their operation. over the last 2 ½ years.
Had to take our dog to the vet after last visit. Will not be returning, after speaking with our pet sitter who had originally recommend them, she no long does after hearing many poor experience. She now recommends Red Dog Paw Spa.

Went to the mutt puddle after a trip to the dog park. We had a great time and my bulldog Cooper got a job sweeping their floors for them.

I also have always used PetSmart grooming. I have never had a problem and was always pleased with the results. However the price was always different and I always had the same thing done. Also, I was paying extra to have him express, a service they recommend for older dogs to minimize the length of time down to 1 ½ hours.
I recently moved to McKinney and due to the age and health of my Pomeranian, I decided to try something new. I found the Mutt Puddle online, read some reviews and thought I will try it out. My Pom is 15 years old and has a collapsed trachea, so he definetely needs some extra TLC when it comes to grooming. The Mutt Puddle had no problems meeting my requests and he was done in about an hour. So I decided I would try them out with my Australian Shepherd who hates to leave the house and has all kinds of quirks. She is 8 years old and has never been to the groomer (I always did myself and I am not very good). She gets sick in the car, doesnt like to be on a leash (which is one of the reasons she never went to PetSmart, I was always worried she would get off her leash in a busy parking lot). When we got there she was terrified to get out of the car, she did get off her leash but I finally got her in the door. When I cam to pick her up, she looked FANTASTIC, she had bows in her ears and was happy.
The staff is friendly and attentative, you can tell that they really LOVE animals.
I will definetely return again and again. I have recommended them to 3 of my friends and they have all been happy with the results too. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place for your furry, four-​legged family members.
