Good Karma Pet Spa

Have taken my large and medium country dogs Border-​Aussie and black Labrador mix to Heather for grooming for several years. They love her and always get top notch grooming and enjoy their visits. She is friendly and professional. Love her cozy setting also!

Went to see Heather at Good Karma Pet Spa for the first time today. It’s about a 40 minute drive for us, but after having a couple of mediocre grooming experiences at nearby locations, I started asking around, and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed, and will be returning.
One of the things I absolutely loved is that they only schedule one dog at a time, and that one dog stays with one groomer from beginning to end. There is no pre-​groom person, shampoo person, drying person, clipping person, and there are no crates where dogs wait between steps or when finished. Dogs are dried by hand… no kennel drying machines.
All of the details were taken care of as well. He smelled fabulous. Nails were both clipped and filed. Teeth were brushed. Tail was trimmed to match the body. Anal glands were cleaned. Sanitary area was clipped perfectly and without the razor burn rash we’ve seen before. And, he came out with a cute holiday bandana.
Heather was very attentive to what kind of cut we had in mind. She listened, asked questions, and offered suggestions. She texts or calls when it’s time to pick up, and because she only works with one dog at a time, they are only there 1 – 2 hours (unlike the other places we’ve tried where they kept him for 4 hours).
The cost was comparable to other places. For the works, including teeth brushing, we paid $ 59. Cost is determined based on your dog’s specific needs rather than a one-​size-​fits-​all menu, so your dog could be more or less.
Heather owns the business and has a small house in McKinney that is used solely for dog grooming. It’s definitely off the beaten path without fancy bells and whistles. Just her and your dog. Kinda perfect.
I had a great feeling when we walked in and my dog ran right over to her to make friends. So unlike the other places where he plants his butt at the door, starts shaking, and doesn’t want to go inside. His instinct was a good one! He was still happy when I picked him up. We’ll be back!

I have brought my 2 Australian Shepherds to Heather for years. She always does a great job with them! Her new place is very comfortable for dogs and humans alike! If you go to the Spa’s Facebook page you can see examples of her work. I recommend her very highly!
