This is the place I hit up only when I have to. It’s near my kid’s school, so sometimes, in a hurry, I go here. Yes, you really have to look at the produce here, more so than other places, because as other reviewers state they do tend to have some rotten stuff. But I’d also like to point out that there are good points here: the deli section is on point, employees are super friendly and overall the store is clean and orderly. I do however find this store is pricey. They don’t run the specials like the other Albertsons and things I usually find on sale like frozen foods and soda are rarely on a great sale. Today I saw that Blue Bell is $ 8 there, when I bought it at Tom Thumb for $ 4 two days ago. A 12 pack of soda here is $ 6. Other places they are 2.88. So yeah… only go here if money is no option :)

I don’t frequent Albertson’s very often, but when I do they seldom have what I am looking for. I usually only come in when I am in a pinch. I was heading home from Sprouts and knew that I was going to have to stop at Alberston’s because Sprouts did not carry the item I was looking for. On this instance I was coming in to buy frozen lime aide concentrate. They were completely out and I asked an associate to look in the back and he stated they were completely out. The associate that checked out my groceries was friendly and very nice.

While this is the closest grocery store to home, I choose to go up the Street to food shop. This store is ok for basics like milk and eggs. Beyond those, it is not so great due to poor produce selection and non existent customer service. I don’t know the location of the thousands of items in this store, so sometimes I need help finding a product. Finding help is difficult at best. When I have found and asked for help, it usually encompasses«I think that is on isle 3» and stops there. Other places will walk you to said mystery item and offer further help; Not here. The check out stands here are S L O W. If there are enough open, they move at a snails pace. Most times the lines are long due to speed of service l and not quantity. There are lots of better choices in McKinney for groceries. Albertsons will continue to fill in for the single, emergent item, but not daily needs.

Pretty much a mirror image of the one at Eldorado and 75. No clue how McKinney supports two Albertsons, and from the crowds(or lack thereof) at both, I don’t imagine they will for very long. This one is a little bit nicer looking inside but also a bit less convenient to anybody who doesn’t live in one of the far West McKinney subdivisions. No interaction with any employees, but I have had good luck with the butchers at the other location so I will keep going there.

First time here and they are out of items I want. Also items got rung up wrong on my sales receipt. Not a good first time experience.

Wow, tons of moldy boxes of strawberries. We came in to pick up some fruits and after looking at several boxes of nasty strawberries, we informed the manager and left. Don’t go here for fruits!

I used to drive past ALL Albertson’s stores because I thought it an inferior store to Kroger’s and Walmart. I have been impressed with them lately. The produce section In all the stores is vastly improved from the wilted crap they used to have. They have reasonable prices, and the meat and deli areas are improved over the way they used to be. The bakery is still so-so, but has great in-house made items. What little there is… The Seafood Dept. has some really great deals occasionally. Critters look fresh. The BACON, did someone say BACON?, is Farmer’s brand, which I hear is really Wright brand selling wholesale in bulk(½ normal price). I buy it all the time and love it!!! There are some brands, or items that I can only get here that I like over some of the other stores. They have some awesome sales on their frozen veggies every few months! The Albertson’s on Eldorado has a security guard to make you feel better about shopping there. NOT! He is there to keep the Riff Raff from the near by Apts. from looting the place. The Virginia store is noticeably nicer than the El Eldorado store, which is older and sits nearer the«hood». The employees at both stores are excellent!

It’s the closest grocery store to our house! It’s literally less than a mile away and I still choose to go to another grocery store. The only reason we typically go to this store is to pick up a few things quickly. The stupidest thing they’ve done is to remove the 4 self serve checkouts and replace it with two10 items or less checkouts manned by an employee. There is never 2 people working so there’s always a line. The service is forgettable and they’re kinda like robots just checking people out!

I don’t know if Albertson’s is really the best anything anymore. 5 – 10 years ago, Albertson’s was my(my family’s) go-to place for pretty much anything food/drug. Now? Not so much. You see, the grocery market is becoming more and more competitive. Well, with Market Street, Kroger, Tom Thumb, and others getting in on the«upper end» action, they’re able to offer the higher end items at lower prices! Frankly, Albertson’s can’t keep up. That’s not to say they won’t continue to be successful, but I just can’t see it without some sort of major change in how they do business. This particular location is also really horrible at customer service, typically really dirty, and just not a fun trip. When I walk into a store and get a headache, I know I won’t be going back. There are better places around. Don’t go here.

The Savon pharmacy in Albertson’s is without question the best pharmacy. I use this pharmacy frequently. They are swift, accurate, timely and friendly. My family would not go anywhere else.
