Our programs include lessons for novice artists just beginning their creative pursuits and

classes for more advanced artists wishing to continuing their development. Our Paint Parties with host David Becker bring friends and family together for a relaxing night of creative fun. For those wishing to renew aged furniture and décor, we offer Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® and a full line of related brushes, waxes, sundries, cuddly vintage flannel work shirts and Artisan Enhancement products. Our Chalk Paint® workshops enable you to proceed with confidence and ensure that your project is a beautiful success. We offer seasonal workshops and demonstrations with experts and guest artists that educate and inspire. Student exhibits celebrate our accomplishments in premier gallery style. History

Established in 2008.

Whether you are beginning your creative pursuits or striving to refine your skills, you’ll find programs to guide, encourage and inspire. Children’s camps and classes, fine art instruction for teen and adults in drawing, oils, watercolor, acrylic, metal embossing and pottery run throughout the year. Guest artists bring a variety of special interest workshops such as fused glass jewelry, silk painting and mixed media collage.

Interested in renewing your worn and tired furniture? The Studio sells the one and only Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® Decorative Paint and a full line of accompanying sundries for your home décor projects. Our hands on workshops provide you with the skills to complete your projects with confidence.

Be sure to check out our byob Paint Parties for ages 21 and up! Guided instruction enables anyone to create their personal version of our original painting. Private parties may be reserved for any occasions from bachelorettes, birthdays, showers and social groups.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Lucy opened The Studio in the summer of 2008 with the goal of providing quality fine art instruction to students of all ages within her local community. She plans and instructs art classes at The Studio and manages it’s operations. Lucy loves to create in a variety of mediums including pencil, oil, pewter and pottery.

Lucy is co-​author of the «Art Works» curriculum and CEO of Creative Curricula, Inc. «Art Works» is an elementary art program for kindergarten through eighth grade that is currently in use in classrooms across the United States. «Art Works» has received the highest accolades from it’s users and is a viable source for affordable art education in the elementary school arena. Holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, she taught elementary art for many years at Montini Catholic School in McHenry. Past work includes freelance graphic art, color consultation and murals for both commercial and residential spaces.
