I just had another friend tell me that their car smelled like smoke after getting it tinted here.

This place is awesome called the night before and they told me to bring it in at 9 AM. They said it would take 3 to 4 hours to get it done and they knocked it out in an hour and a half, plus it looks great.
I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who needs their windows tinted. Plus they warrantee the work.

I had my BMW’s windows tinted here and they did a great job! The cost was very reasonable. I only paid $ 230 for 7 windows. I have paid over $ 300 at other places. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely becoming back for my future vehicles.

This place is great. I had been going to total car total care for a while whenever I needed tints, but carl is way cheaper and does better work. Nice location. had a TV for my son to watch Disney and they had me out of there in under an hour. The work is flawless, go here if you’re in CL or around here

Got to know about this business through my car dealer. Taking appointment was easy. Once at the shop, lady at front desk will walk with you to your car and will suggest the options you can have for window tinting. She is kind enough to provide her frank opinion. It was not like saying yes to everything you say you like. She knows what kind of tinting is legal and what not. She helped me deciding the tinting percentage I need to match with my car’s rear windows. The application of tinting was quick and good work done. Best thing is that they covered window operation button with tape. That way, you do not push the windows down by accident. One thing to remember that you cannot roll down windows and cannot touch them for next four days.

Great place for tint He does all the tint for the dealerships in McHenry county, which is how I was referred and knew I could trust him with my BMW 325i. He used Suntek Carbon 18 and its perfect! It was applied nicely and I would absolutely refer anyone to him. He a genuine guy making money doing something hes great at. And with reasonable prices you can’t beat it!

I wanted to wait awhile to give this review to see how their tint job held up. I could not be happier with the service, knowledge, and application of the tint. They were all very nice, explained everything to me and it has held up great after 8 months. Comfortable waiting area is nice also.

I sought out a knowledgeable tint shop that could tint the windows on my recently purchased Acura TSX. I wanted a great job at a fair price, but didn’t really want to go too far out of my way to get it done (in the past, I’ve gone to small shops in Chicago).
I called Carl Darling and asked about prices and appointments. The woman who answered was helpful and quoted me $ 240 for 30% on all windows, and a little more ($ 20 I think) for a 6″ visor on my windshield. I was able to get in for an appointment when it was convenient for me, and it only took about 4 hours from the time I dropped it off until I was able to pick up my car.
Carl himself was there to answer any of my questions and, being unschooled at the process of tinting, my concerns of what looked like «bubbles» on my freshly tinted car. I’m sure he realized what I was going to bring up when I told him I «had some concerns,» but he went outside with me, listened to my concerns, and explained how the tinting process goes and what I should expect when the tint cures. He was truly professional and took his time to explain everything to me, and also brought me into the work area to look at a car that was being tinted at the time. (Of course, I felt like a dummy, but he didn’t make me feel that way!)
I also like that they put a yellow reminder notice (to not roll down my windows for several days) hanging from my rearview mirror and taped my window controls with green painter’s tape. I can’t tell you, out of habit, how many times I tried to roll down my windows even WITH the tape on! =) The tinting itself is under warranty, and Carl gave me the mail-​in card with everything filled out (they had me do my part when I arrived) and a stamp, ready to go into the mailbox! He also gave me a copy of the Illinois tinting law with the rest of my paperwork, just in case I get pulled over.
All in all, my experience with Carl Darling Window Tinting was great — very detailed, professional, courteous, and thoughtful! Even better, the price was great! I highly recommend them… even if YOU have to drive a little out of your way!
