UNITS Moving & Portable Storage

I’m very impressed thus far with this company. I had to change plans quickly and Tyler was extremely patient throughout the experience. I will update my review after my move. For now — thumbs up!

Units was amazing. Tyler at the Units store got me set up and delivered a unit right away. The delivery guy was professional and worked around an unusual set up and steep drive way that we had. He was working outside in 100 degree heat getting the unit perfectly level.
A+++ service and would use again if necessary.

If you’re looking into PODS, stop. Right now. Seriously. UNITS, and I get how silly this PODS v UNITS things sounds, but UNITS is the way to go.
First off you can actually get an estimate from UNITS. I could stop the review right here and it would still render PODS inferior. We called PODS initially. We tried to use their online estimate system. No one called back. The online system didn’t work (not like «it was inaccurate» or «it was slow»… it flat out didn’t work). Sidenote: mother-​in-​law called PODS (in Minnesota) twice and didn’t get a call back… so it’s nationwide ineptitude.
Tyler, who coordinates the drop-​off and pick-​up agreement at UNITS, is courteous, professional, and «with-​it» (i.e. is well organized). John is a hurricane-​of-​a-​man when it comes to loading and unloading the UNIT (though not without precision and situational awareness). I know there’s more to the company than these two guys, but if they’re any indication of everyone else at the company, you’ll definitely be in good hands.
Oh, and while moving is stressful and expensive, UNITS, by being so well organized cut a lot of our stress and was honestly very reasonably priced. I’d definitely use them again.

Units has been amazing with me! Booking the appointment from the get go, until two years later, where I had them bring back the unit with my property was nothing but exceptional! I hope I don’t move again, but if I did, they will be the first I call. Tyler in Sacramento has been nothing but exceptional with me. He really worked hard with the out of town office to make sure my transition is smooth. They also accommodated my needs as they rose. I am really thankful I found a decent company throughout this whole process. It should be noted when I got my unit back, my property was well in tact no damage, no mold, or any weird damage! I am very please the way I had my movers pack it in (which Units recommended) is the way I got it back! Awesome business!

I used them to move from West Sac to Rocklin in April/​May 2015. Even though they were just a little bit more than some other national companies, I went with them due to their outstanding customer service. I did not want to deal with an 800 number and some rep 1000 miles away who couldn’t care less about me or my property. I knew that by dealing local I would get better service and that I did. The few people I worked with were very prompt and answered the phone within a few rings and emails within an hour or two at the most. My dates and times were followed up with a phone call confirmation and the quoted price was the price paid. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them. It made the moving process so much easier and less stressful.

I recently moved from one home to another in Sacramento and used UNITS Sacramento. A big shout out to Tyler and his team for exceptional customer service! They deliverd the UNIT exactly ontime and parked it perfectly in my driveway. It was very clean, sturdy and safe. We had it for three weeks before our move, and a week after our move, which worked out perfectly. On our move day it was important that the UNIT was moved out of our driveway before movers came to get the remainder of our belongings. The UNIT was picked up exactly on time and moved to our new home. The move was only about 6 miles/​no freeways, and I’m happy to report that, due to my husband’s exceptional packing job and the finesse in which the UNIT was moved, not one thing wwas broken during our move. Hooray! I highly recommend UNIT Sacramento for anybody needing moving/​storage. THANK YOU TYLER!

The guys at UNITS Moving were great! We had a remodel project for our office and with so many chefs in the kitchen, we had to keep changing our dates. They were super patient with us. :) When we finally got our act together, they were professional and really went out of their way to accommodate our schedule. I would HIGHLY recommend Units for anyone’s moving /​storage needs.

We used Units to move our household belonging. They are a well oiled machine we needed 2 units moved from Roseville to Penryn. They were on time very responsive to our needs and moving schedule. The units were very clean they supplied blankets and straps and recommended a great moving company to help move our things from the house to the units. I would strongly recommend these guys in the future.

This company is hands down fantastic. Tyler was so easy to work with and very accommodating. The movers they hired for us from Steady Moves were also so professional and awesome. They did a great job packing all of our stuff into the units as if playing an intense game of tetris with our boxes and furniture. It was amazing watching them. I hope to never have to move again any time soon as I hate doing it, but if I were to do it, I would HIGHLY recommend UNITS. I will be telling anyone and everyone who is moving about this company. I had a wonderful experience with UNITS. They were very accommodating in delivery and pick up of my unit. Tyler quickly responded to my e-​mail requests and was very clear in explaining the process. I would use these services again (but I hope I never move again).

UNITS Portable Storage is Awesome! Tyler at the office worked with my schedule & helped me figure out the «Unit» size I needed. They were affordable and made moving easy. It was great having the «Unit» delivered to my driveway. It was packed by me without the rush. I was stressing over having to find a storage unit, rent a truck, load the truck, unload truck at storage unit. Rent another truck, load truck, drive to new home, unload truck again & get truck back in time. Not with the UNIT — pack at your pace, they pick up & deliver to new home, unpack at your pace. What a great company to work with. I will definitely use them again if/​when I move. Highly recommend UNITS!

Half the price of the competition! Great company, Tyler is awesome. Very easy to work with, prompt, and really affordable. Made the move from the Bay Area to El Dorado Hills soooo easy. The driver was even able to get the unit down our very tricky driveway. Couldn’t have been more please with their service. Highly recommend.

Sacramento, UNITS moving & portable storage in Sacramento was excellent. They were very responsive, had great lines of communication, and their services were well priced. I would definitely recommend them.

Rented & stored at their facility one monster-​sized unit over the course of 2 months and I have to say that although I am not new to moving I was new to the portable «unit» option.
Faced with a monster move that had to happen rather quickly and seeings as how that move from hell was solely up to me and my man and our backs it hit us one night to look into another option in addition to the typical route we take when we move which is to hire a Uhaul truck.
** It should also be noted that this location is located in North Highlands, CA and in a clean commercially zoned area that also houses the VA as well as other businesses and the McClellan Business Park.
I didn’t even know this company existed and found it when searching Unilocal for moving pods and the like but the reviews were consistently so horrific for the other companies offering similar services that when this location popped up we decided to take a chance and we are both ecstatic that we did as we couldn’t have been happier from start to finish.
Here’s what I really loved about working with UNITS:
Flexibility and freedom of time. It was great to have the unit dropped in our driveway and nice and close to the garage opening so that all of the packing I had been doing over the previous months and was storing inside the garage for move day could be loaded at our own leisure & time frame then locked up securely until ready to load some more of our stuff into it.
This for us was priceless! Only it was…
Cleanliness & built like a tank: The unit was immaculent, in perfect working condition & literally built like a tank. No one was getting into it nor hauling it out of our driveway except for the boys at UNITS when I’d call to have it picked up and or delivered for unloading at our final destination. Air tight is an understatement & when it was finally delivered at our final destination everything was intact strapped down and just like we loaded it which is amazing considering it was moved 4 times in total before being unloaded at our new home. I’m still amazed at that.
Customer Service: It as top notch and I only had a few communication issues with Tyler however we got it straight & could set our watch after it all to the punctuality of the drop off’s and pick-​ups of our unit. Plus the owner Sam is fantastic too & I particularly loved all of my dealings with him.
Price: Pricing is affordable & I mean really affordable as you have to consider the fact that your not on a day by day time crunch like you are when you rent a moving truck and have it for only a certain amount of days. Your literally loading your beloved crap into your UNIT at your own place and when your ready you give them a call & schedule the pick up and decide whether or not you having it hauled back to their storage facility OR dropped at another destination for unpacking.
We paid for two solid months which included over 30 moving blankets & about 20 or more straps I believe it was an out the door of around $ 660 for it all…
Now when you compare the fact that renting a truck, busting your butt to get it all moved and unloaded within a matter of hours particularly if your moving your stuff into a storage unit which would require you to unload and reload then unload it again; you just can’t beat it.
Now some may not appreciate that I put the pricing into the mix however money matters and it’s my review so it stands.
Another good area to note when shopping for storage units is that there are delivery fees involved in the process as well. I believe we paid around $ 60 or so maybe a little less maybe a lil more but I don’t recall it being more as our receipt doesn’t break it down but it’s a good thing to know so you can factor that into your price checking when shopping around.
We went with a combined approach on this last move as we had 2 weeks to kill between moving out of the current home & moving into our new home that we purchased so we rented one UNIT from this company and had it packed and hauled away to their warehouse for storage knowing that we wouldn’t need it delivered to our new home for a solid 1.5 months. Then we rented a Uhaul and got in on a 30 day free Uhaul storage unit where we moved the remained of our stuff ourselves and into it & out of it before the end of the 30 days.
It worked great for us as knowing that our beloved crap was safely in a UNIT container and stored here and only a phone call away from having it moved to our home without having to re-​rent a truck and do it all ourselves was once again priceless. I hope I never have to move again but if I do I’ll be back.

Great way to store your stuff. Friendly — punctual and better price than the competition.

Fantastic service, I would highly recommend UNITS to my friends and family. Both Sam and Tyler communicated exactly when they would arrive and presented a detailed cost of their services with no surprises.

I would highly recommend UNITS to anyone that is looking for a convience way to move. You can pack and move at your on pace and not have to rush, rush, rush. It was a pleasure working with Tyler and Sam. They were always prompted in returning my calls. The price quoted was correct and no hidden fees. The units had arrived on time and returned as promised. My property was secure and undamage… well except for the pot that broke, but that was my fault for not packing it properly. Thank you so much for your service!!!

These guys were great all along the way, from competitive pricing when I researched other similar offerings to being very communicative throughout the process. They dropped off extra blankets, locks, anything I needed. The driver was a great guy and even helped a bit on the unload.

Tyler on the phone helped me pick the right size container and coordinated getting it delivered. I didn’t want to deal with getting a moving truck or have restricted hours to deal with for a public storage. This was the best option to all of that! Your portable storage is close to be able to access it any time you need. You pack it, they provide blankets and straps that keep everything snug in its place when it is moved to the final destination. You pack it once, they move it and you unpack it. It can’t get any less back breaking than that! Nobody like the hassle of moving and this just made it a little bit easier. Thanks guys!
