Our group showed up at 7:00pm with a reservation for 7:00pm. We sat there for 10 minutes and absolutely no one came by to greet or ask us if we wanted drinks… we walked out with not one person noticing! Can’t really say anything good or bad about the food… since we didn’t stay!

This is my 2nd visit to Frida’s and I’m sure not my last. Best whiskey sours. The veggie chile relleno melted in my mouth. Oh and you have to get the crème brûlée – one of my favorite crème brûlées. I’m always a fan of a Mexican food restaurant that offers that in addition to flan(which I’m not a fan of). The owner treated our group with first class hospitality and sent over a HUGE swirl margarita with 30 straws. Bliss.

Frida’s is one of my favorite restaurants in McAllen, a city loaded with great eateries. The food is superb, the ambiance is quiet and subdued, and the service has always been impeccable. I’ve used Frida’s several time for catering special events, and the staff there always goes above and beyond. They think of everything! The presentation is terrific– always impressive– and they do everything on time. There’s NEVER been a flub up, and I’ve used them several times. I recommend them highly.

This the best restaurant in McAllen. I come on business to To McAllen once a month. I come to Fridas at least twice during my visit. I highly recommend.

The restaurant has a high-end homey look to it. I selected the Mango margarita upon the recommendation of the server. He delivered an overfilled glass that was dripping all over the table and turned my hands into a sticky mess. The drink was pretty flavorless and I didn’t like the spice(adobo?) rimming the glass. I tried my husband’s traditional margarita and didn’t like it either. The waiter just left our empty drink glasses sitting on the table, and it wasn’t long before they were coated with fruit flies. They have moderately priced Mexican dishes on the menu and our entire party went for those items. I’ll just say that it was nothing special. The crème brûlée tasted like Jello vanilla pudding. There wasn’t anything about my experience that would inspire me to return.
