Montessori School of McLean

We love this school. The environment is unlike anything else we’ve seen. First class resources infused with a dynamic and really thoughtful staff. Highly recommend the toddler program, which has provided a great foundation for our children’s entry into the primary program. We love the administrators, who really put thought into which environment each our children need to be in to thrive. Also enjoy the diverse and inclusive parental community.

I’ve been part of the MSM family for 4 years now. I have two very active sons — your typical boys. My oldest, who started at 2 years, 10 months just completed the primary program and graduated Kindergarten. My youngest joined this year at 2.5 when MSM first began their Toddler program (2 – 3 year olds).
Here what I love about MSM:
— The classrooms are very well organized, clean and have tons of natural light — which wasn’t the case when I went on other local preschool tours.
— There is a sense of peacefulness and calm in a classroom with 25 3 – 6 year olds and I can’t figure out how they do that!
— They have three instructors per class — and when your child turns 5, they can stay the afternoon (until 3:30) and receive more personal attention as well as take part in their more specialized classes, such as Spanish, Art & Science
— My crazy boys become these caring, thoughtful and joyful human beings as soon as they walk through the door.
— Their educational program is structured, yet flexible. They teach to the child (not to a syllabus), while building a sense of confidence and independence that I have seen even in my youngest after his first year here. And at this age, building a level of independence and confidence will only make facing future challenges easier
— They LOVE children! The staff is always smiling, always caring and always supportive. And our teachers were approachable and available for any questions or concerns.
I really believe that early education builds a solid foundation for future educational challenges and I couldn’t be happier with MSM.

Disappointed with the communication of the school (from administration)…we have had our child as a student there since last Oct/​November and just now at the end of May we and the teacher realized we never got the weekly classroom email! Ugh! Really not pleased with the administration of the school as less than ¹⁄₃ or ¼ of the office/​administration staff seem genuine :-(.
The teachers in our child’s class are great — loving, caring, supportive and have good control of the class and structure for the group of students.
